The EU needs to start offering a possibility for Turkey to join to give incentives. Everybody shares blame for the 'loss' of Turkey, but now is the time to act.

As the first one to protect Israel's image abroad, this time I cannot find any excuse for Ayalon's childish behavior. Even when we're discontent with a country, there is a proper and polite diplomatic code to convey our criticism. Just look at how the US State department expresses displeasure with a foreign official - very coldly but properly. The Turkish ambassador has done nothing wrong to us personally, and thus there is no call to treat him like this. One expects from a Deputy Foreign Minister to act respectably, and not with such childish ego trip. Such practice may suit politicians from countries like Egypt and Libya, not us. But then again, Ayalon was a failed ambassador to the USA, so why the surprise here. This just shows how deep political considerations run, where the prestigious jobs go not necessarily to the most talented, but rather, to the most connected people.

It is extremely non productive the way Dani Ayalon treated the Turkish Ambassador. Instead of criticizing Tayip erdogan directly Dani Ayalon chose to crizitize the Turks and also use Islamic symbolism to degrade all Turks again. What is that creating a hostile show in front of cameras not shaking the ambassador's hand? Tayip Erdogan is almost on par with Ahmedinaccad. Amost! But there is a big distance between that and not shaking a representative of Turks. To think that that person represented us in USA for many years. It is high time to get rid of Dani Ayalon and Lieberman from the Foreign Office. For fairness I must also add that I am Israeli and Turkish.
