31. #27 Ariel i think you will find they are free to apply
Avi ,   Israel   (01.13.10)
I think you will find that there are very stricht entry exams to enter the foreign service, Unfortuently the charideem do not study even the basics and posess no language skills, or high level of education. Maybe when advanced rock throwing and riot skills and advanced social security and draft dodgint techniques are part of the requirments they could apply.
32. To all above posters
Sami ,   Lebanon   (01.13.10)
An update to all above posters who are proud of the arrogant action of the legendary Ayalon. “ will not do it again “with the tail between legs ..........“will clarify position in diplomatically acceptable ways in future” Yeah ,it didn’t last for long buddies
33. #26 Turkey with no guns?It has 4th largest Army in the world
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (01.13.10)
not that they are very competent but Turkey is bullying its smaller and much weaker neighbors all the time Cyprus brutal occupation, Armenia, Kurdistan, Greece, invading Iraq over and over again, and now it thinks that it can mess up with the real regional power, Israel
34. Mohammad @ 15, I appreciate you being
leo ,   usa   (01.13.10)
"against stupid Turkish show". If it were between you and Israel I sure matter could've been resolved very quickly. However, matter is between Israel and Turkey and Turkey is not "against stupid Turkish show" or at least where it matters (Erdogan) isn't. As to bouncer being FM, looks like it is working. You get unruly, you get bounced out of the bar. Calm restored.
35. Just made us look childish and stupid
Tomer ,   Hod Hasharon, Israel   (01.13.10)
Of course there was a serious point to be made to the Turkish, but for heavens sake this little display was pathetic and embarrassing. Now the focus is on thisridiculous incident rather than the serious issues that need to be addressed between the two countries. Why do we need to act "big and strong"? We can "speak softly and carry the big stick" to much better effect.
36. Lightning rod
Yaakov ,   Jerusalem   (01.13.10)
It is said that the lightning rod is not supposed to bring the lightning. Lieberman and Ayalon are DISASTERS! How could such people be placed in diplomatic positions? They must leave for the good of Israel.
37. the writing on the wall ,open your eyes .
observer ,   Palestinian   (01.13.10)
Turkey is making new coalitions ,they don't care about europe anymore ..they are telling Israel in so many ways to get lost .. they said sorry to the Arminians ,and they are making Moves towards the Kurds ..so ,yes you can learn from them . you guys ARE NOT GETTING THE Clear and highlighted message . yes ,if you don't change your attitude toward your neighbors and lift that siege on Gaza ..you need to pull your Guy from Ankara before they give him a 48 hours to leave very soon . i disagree with the writer that the consequences are Marginal .. it is over and they can buy the Drones from anywhere else . Finally ,please keep that Liberman ,he is very good for us .
38. I hope everything will be good for both countries
Altug ,   Istanbul & Turkey   (01.13.10)
I am happy that the conflict was solved by Israel's apologize. However all the Turks must be interrogate that why some tv series, shows, channels always interest Israel.I think Turkey has become more conservative in recent years. Moreover Israel has been helping this transformation with to know no measure...
39. liebermans lower chair policy
Mel ,   Sydney   (01.13.10)
yeh ,so Avalon showed who is the boss right ,it can only fool the racist, conservative dumhead people including the people here who are showing gratefullness to Liebermans pathetic low chair policy.. Turkish TV show is a big piece of crap,i admit. It shows nothing about Turkish feeling about Israelİ state.Everyday we here extremely bad comments ,even insults made by EU officials or from European leaders like stupid Merkel or Sarkozy about Turkey.Israel acts so vulnerable about the comments, they dont have to scare to listen peoples mind. There is no anti-smetimism between the regular people in Turkey.Believe me that they always prefer a Jewish over an Arab.
40. #5 u r right
hanzalahnaji   (01.14.10)
yes i will elect liberman and netenyahu for next round, they done for arab more than any arab leader did, thank u both and keep on the same track, god bless u, show more of your ugly face.
41. so,when is Ayalon is going to resign??(end )
MO ,   Jerusalem   (01.14.10)
42. New kind of diplomacy
xlaire ,   Boulogne   (01.14.10)
Mafia bosses use such tricks when receiving rival "guests" . To Moldovian thugs & bouncers this is being "smart". Such a shame.
43. ISRAEL'S SECOND GEAR
Aaron ,   San Francisco   (01.14.10)
At a time when most of its neighbors perceive finally that Israel is there to stay, Israel is feeling the most vulnerable in its psychic. Israel closed the first chapter of survival in its short history where Israelis were united and strong against external enemies. In the second chapter, now more rooted in the region, Israel needs to decide what it wants to become, where diverse group in the country have vastly different visions for the future. This creates a national insecurity. Out of paranoia Israeli diplomats start acting like little children... The glories of the 50s, 60s and 70s are as they were centuries away
44. Not Our Brightest Move
David ,   Jerusalem   (01.14.10)
It would have been better to call him in, observe the diplomatic forms, and in no uncertain terms state we find his governments overtures to Syria and Iran disturbing, their minister's rhetoric unacceptable, and the television show beyond the pale AND that as a result we are reviewing whether or not we need to downgrade relations with Turkey. It would have served the point without the cavalier bad manners.
45. ALON LIEL NOT BETTER THAN AYALON
Michel Slonimski ,   Paris, France   (01.17.10)
I met Alon Liel in Turkey at an international symposium. He kept publicly disparaging his country's government and policies. Not exactly what I would have anticipated from a professionally trained diplomat either.
46. Chaplin's "The Great Dictator" explains much
Voldemar ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (01.18.10)
"The Great Dictator" has 3 scenes that explain what has happened: 1) Ribbentop instructs Hitler, what are low chairs good for. 2) Hitler tries to put Mussolini in the low chair. 3) At the barber's, when Mussolini and Hitler try to adjust their chairs to sit higher. It's a must to review "The Great Dictator" if you want to undestand the incident better
