Israel is getting worked up over what a TV program depicts? What am I missing? I admire Israel for a lot of things- but this is surprising. Here in India we see a lot of stuff on TV that are not complementary to our own government. You see any Hollywood spy movie, and usually the plot involves some wayward US intelligence agent. Why does a government need to apologize for what a TV program- privately made- has to say?!!! Besides this, of course, it is a pretty low blow to insult a diplomat! What am I missing here?

With trying to enter the EU, they are being more supportive of Israeli regional mediation. It is a secular nation in a region dominated by religion. Yes, the television show that sparked this is uncalled for, but so is the continuation of the settlement building, as well as the blatant disrespect shown on a daily basis by FM Leiberman.
