62. Nasrallah ,the nightmare of Israel.
George ,   Canada   (01.16.10)
No matter what you say guys, he humiliated you twice. One in year 2000 when the whole Israeli Army (one of the world top army in weaponry and technologies) run with the tail between legs from Lebanon and left the occupied territory and the co-called South Lebanon army loser created by Israel in scary run like rats As well in 2006, regardless the distraction made by Israeli to Lebanese infrastructure, with 3000 fighter could withstand 2 army brigades in 33 days fights. Destroying power station, bridges, water and oil reserve from the sky isn’t a war honors. Comparing the military power of Israel and Hezbollah ,we have to admit it, they performed very well in the war .Hezbollah cannot win Israeli army in sense of capitulation ,they don’t have tanks, airplane ,or even anti airplane defense ,marine etc… so with this disbalance on military power and mean of action ,what they did ,it is a big moral victory. thinking third try might work ?doubtful Hamas hizbollah are there to stay ,the entered in the geopolitical balance in the Middle East and the change he is talking about ,any future war will be regional and not limited to border exchange of rackets. Even if Israel will be able occupy south Litani or even more it will be impossible to hold it. Many past failure experiences and the case of Gaza still alive.Personally I don't think the time is in the Israeli side.Wait till he will be backed by the nuclear Iran.

'till next time, mf!

70. Nassralla: War will change region's Face
Ahmed ,   Lebanon   (01.16.10)
It is typical of a state that ignores all rules of international law to vents out its arogant power against helpless civilians to go on to the next war with similar mentality. However, the difference is that you are now facing a real opponent who is not afraid of even your nuclear weapons. The Hizbullah fighter is fomidable fighting machine and is capable by what he is and believe in to deliver the kind of military blow that will send your army like rats out of the battle field. Say what you like about destroying the south of the litani river, but you must be fools to believe that Hizbullah has not done his home work in the next battle. Wake up from your slumber and ask your troops in the 2006 engagement. They will tell you what you will not like to hear.
71. The 'Johnson & johnson' diaper man - great ad.
Jojo ,   Prt WASH NY   (01.16.10)
Another great speech by by a great orator ," the diaper man "(he does need it). He is only trying to fill the "sandals" of past and present characters with similar 'penchant' regarding the unstable state of the ME. Some notorious, famous arab experts on islamic rhetoric;Adj amin al Husseini (a fake men of the cloth) a thug of WWII fame; a King Farouk (Egypt's playboy par excellence); a Pompous (aren't they all) self anointed Field Marshal (a la Rommel?) named Fawzi al Qawuqji; a Nasser,( the darling of decadent communists); Arafat of course (the self-made freedom fighter billionaire) ; Ahmadino,(simply a reject of the gods - all of them); Haniyeh, (the savior of islam, maker of TNT babies - with allah's blessings of course); and many other "big mouth specialists". But, I reluctantly concur with his comment " War will change the region's face ". Non existent will become his diaper supply.

Why do I always forget my PS:,Oh well. As a mentioned before, I fail to understand why readers bother to reply to this Marco; a spanish conquistador, an expert in world politics, in warfare, a lecturer in great demand in military academies including Sandhurst, and sought after by world leaders. And you dare to contradict him ??
73. We should not wait : We should beat the Hezbullah to the ...
Ron B. ,   Lod   (01.16.10)
We should not wait : We should beat the Hezbullah to the ground. If “the next attack on Israel is not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’” we should not wait. As we have seen in the last Lebanon war, terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of the Israeli society. We should beat the Hezbullah to the ground and make no distinction between the terrorists and those who harbor them. We stand together to win the war against terrorism. We should be prepared to fight them without any other consideration than beat them as explained at: http://xrl.us/oowhv

75. Forum for Arab and International
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.16.10)
Support for Resistance held at the UNESCO Palace in Lebanon? So it's one more true fact that the UN blatantly opposes Israel, no hidden agenda there. But, nonetheless, I think Israel and other likeminded nations which contribute to UNESCO should take a stand and challenge this obvious bias against one member of the UN (Israel). Frankly, it would be quite shocking if I weren't already aware of the recent anti-Israel and anti-Semitic bias of the UN and the hegemony of the Islamic states.

Had Lebanon and Jordan had the balls to join the Egyptians and Syrians during the Yom Kippur War, Israel would have easily been defeated.
80. leaders did not betray their people
observer   (01.16.10)
In 2006, Jewish leaders did not ask their people to leave, but 70% of them ran away from the North in fear of Hizbullah missiles without ever setting eyes on a Lebanese guerrilla.
81. Barking dogs...

Nasrallah regularly beats his chest and spouts threats against Israel while hiding in his little hole in the ground. Like a tiny dog that barks and barks.
82. Lebanon is the country of 1000 Satans
Sami ,   Lebanon   (01.16.10)
Lebanon is the country of 1000 Satans .Over 18 religious sects and their extensions, unknown numbers of all flavors military sleeping group, cells waiting for actions. It seems small weak country easy to enter, but you never get the hell out of there without humiliation and heavy political price. Israel is the best who knows this reality. Every who wanted to try his luck and get involved in the Lebanese swamp end up kicked out with humiliation .American ,French , Syrian Israel ..etc.
83. #3, 21 26-Is this defeat?
Mickey ,   Sydney Australia   (01.16.10)
The facts: When the United Nations wanted to impose a 48-hour ceasefire, it was Hezbollah which rushed to accept while Israel had to be pressured. Obviously this was because Israel had the military momentum in her favor. ......Israel pushed Hezbollah well away from the Lebanese-Israel border.Israel lost 116 soldiers while five to six hundred Hezbollah members were killed and nearly all of their bases, headquarters and tactical infrastructure were destroyed. Additionally, Israel took over every single village in southern Lebanon.During the conflict, Hezbollah said it would never agree to allow either the Lebanese army nor international monitors to patrol southern Lebanon. ....Even after the cease fire, Israel stayed in Lebanon for two more months in order to destroy all remaining Hezbollah outposts and bunkers while Hezbollah stood by and did nothing. During the conflict some of the Israel/Lebanon border fence was destroyed and torn down, and Israel was in no rush to fix it, since what`s the point? Hezbollah will not want to mess with the IDF again! ...not too long ago, nearly all television and print media images coming out of southern Lebanon were that of armed Hezbollah fighters with their guns, outposts, and banners. Not anymore! Hezbollah is now hiding under rocks in Southern Lebanon and Nasrallah is no longer enjoying frequent visits to central Beirut, giving daily "Hate Israel" speeches,Nasrallah even admitted that had he known that even one percent of this war would have gone as it had, he would have NEVER kidnapped the soldiers and thus started the war! "We did not think, even 1 percent, that the capture would lead to a war at this time and of this magnitude. You ask me, if I had known on July 11 ... that the operation would lead to such a war, would I do it? I say no, absolutely not.? - Hezbollah Leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, August 27, 2006 ......After the war some Arab Governments claimed Hezbollah achieved a divine victory but lets not forget, that some of those Arab governments "STILL" until today claim that the Syria and Egypt won the 1967 War and the 1973 War. ...No one disputes the fact that Hizbullah started the fight," sayd a writer for Ya Libnan. ..... "The cease-fire acted as a life jacket for the organization [at the end of the Second Lebanon War]," a Hizbullah officer said in an interview aired by Channel 10 ...The officer shown on Channel 10 said the organization`s gunmen had been running low on food and water and facing rapidly diminishing arms supplies. ....The officer also said that many Hizbullah commanders were ordered to hide before the war started, and that the gunmen who remained were forced to fire Katyusha rockets from inside urban populations because of the IDF`s efficiency in destroying launchers minutes after a launch had been detected.
84. #59 Hezbollah almost wiped Lebanon off map
Cynthia ,   USA   (01.16.10)
"I score another point to Hizb. for repulsing IDF in 2006, with embarrassingly heavy losses." In this senseless, unprovoked attack on Israel, Hezbollah and Lebanon incurred heavy losses; 600-700 dead Hezbollah fighters 1200 dead Lebanese civilians 4000 injured/disabled Lebanese Thousands of people left homeless Billions of dollars in damage You consider this a victory for Hezbollah?
85. #80 Poor observer
Cynthia ,   USA   (01.16.10)
Hezbollah fired 4000 katyusha rockets at civiian communities in No. Israel which killed 43 people. People left the area to seek safety and those who wanted to travel to the north were unable to for security reasons. My entire family in the north remained. Many of your brave Hezbollah fighters dropped their guns and ran away when the IDF launched their response. I saw the truckloads of abandoned weapons retrieved by the IDF on Israeli TV.

88. 58,50 & 62 This is defeat?
Edward ,   Arava, Israewl   (01.16.10)
Thanks Mickey #83. Further: From a military prospective there can be absolutely no doubt as to the results of Hezballah's offensive against Israel. It was a defeat. Every part of their war plan except the manipulation of the media failed. Hezballah expected and planned for a massive charge of Israeli armor into Southern Lebanon. The amounts and type of anti-tank weapons they acquired and had operationally deployed in their forward positions as well as their secondary and tertiary bands of fortresses and strongholds through Southern Lebanon attest to this fact. They intended to do in mountainous terrain what Egypt had so effectively done in the Sinai desert in the Yom Kippur war, effective anti-tank missile ambushes. In that war almost three thousand Israeli soldiers were killed. That was Hezballah's plan. It was a good one. And it failed. Far from the prevailing impression in the media, the IDF was not "badly bloodied" nor "fought to a stand still," much less "handed a defeat." Just prior to the cease fire, Israel suffered twenty nine tanks hit. Of those, twenty five were back in service within twenty four hours. Israel suffered one hundred and seventeen soldiers killed in four weeks of combat. Hizbollah had at least 700 dead.
89. brave talk?
(01.16.10)
it would seem that nasrallah has recovered from his last "victory" 3 years ago, in which hezbollah lost its status in the government, its control in southern lebanon, two-thirds of its fighters, and all of its rockets. three years to rebuild, even with unifil support, is pretty impressive, after such a "great victory". i hope israel can survive another propaganda campaign of rhetoric and faked news footage from his bunker.
90. Nassralla: War will change region's Face
Ahmed ,   Lebanon   (01.16.10)
I can truly understand the state of mind of the Zionists in and outside Palestine. It is by no means easy to comprehend that in the history of this occupying force to have its existence called to question. What are the choice that Israel have at the moment? The major problem facing Israel is geography. Secondly, the citizenry of the state has no willingness to withstand prolonged wars with human life consequences. Therefore, you can talk of losses or destruction brought onto Lebanon by Israel during the 2006 war regardless as to whom you believe is responsible. The outcome was definitely worth the price. Read international media in this respect and start from home with the Winograd Commssion Report and you will understand the crises Israel is in. Lastly, by showering insults and calling names, I hope that goes to sooth the pain you have within yourselves.
