2. Good job yet we still need more trees in the Golan and Galil
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (01.26.10)
3. Judea capta no more. The Romans denuded the landscape of
Rivkah   (01.26.10)
Judea and used the trees to crucify over a million Jews. Let each replanted tree be a reminder of the costs to the Jewish people of a holocaust long ago in 70 A.D. (c.e.). Let these trees be the dry bones of Ezekiel's vision that came back to life. A tree is a symbol of a person, ironically. Imagine the rejoicing in heaven of the souls of the martyrs at each tree planted in the re-established Israel. Are martyred Jews in heaven or hell? The Hebraic Roots Version Bible says "Yeshua is Y'hovah." Worshipping Y'hovah (Adonai) is the same as worshipping Yeshua since Yeshua is Y'hovah in the flesh if you believe that. So Jews who worshipped Y'hovah are in heaven under the altar of Y'hovah just as those who worship Yeshua since the Messiah calls the Jews "his friends" when he comes as the Lion of Judah as described by the Prophet Zechariah.
4. JNF
PY   (01.26.10)
I used to plant a lot of trees through the JNF, but ever since reading that they donated 3000 trees for some new Arab town, and that the money also goes toward buying Xmas trees for non-Jews in Jerusalem, I have stopped giving them money.
5. to #3 indeed the resurrection story is amazing
ghostq   (01.26.10)
by itself when the dead Israelit will rise once again from bones but turn to flesh and blood in the year of redemption but the tree is not part of it only a reflection of someone soul and not phisical one. but it's good the Israelits of today remember the land and the prophacy and the hope of salvation.
6. # 4
More trees ,   US   (01.26.10)
Planting more trees even by PA still means land ,air. environmental improvements - helps the land and water retention too, as well as show the Arabs the worth of tree planting -which is good for all of the Jewish Land of Israel and the people.
8. The Palestinian Authority is planting
indigenous ,   Nablus, Palestine   (01.27.10)
One million trees every year, the Israeli army and settlers are cutting and uprooting trees every week...all the old olive trees were planted by Palestinians... million of them, you came 100 years ago and claiming that you planted trees that are here for 2000 years...two thousand ..since the Roman were here. We were here before you, and will be here after you...we maybe the original Jews of this land
9. i planted many on every tu-bi-shvat
david ,   shechanya   (01.27.10)
when i was little in the north of israel :-) i loved it! 240 mio is a big number. although i think we should move the planting to the negev now... good luck
10. to #8 those palis tree r agriculture by donation money
ghostq   (01.27.10)
from your gov in order to reduce poverty. the trees we r talking about Israeli people r the one who donate them not the gov, is pure wild natur trees, for natur preservation, this cutom originally from the Mishna years(around 1800 ago in Israel) and only jews r celebrating it in Israel you can't practice it outside of Israel, it's the way jews bringing to natur back and not just take from it, like over culturvating the land. this got nothing to do with gov managment. and jews were i Israel a long this custom just prove that. instead of bashing it learn from it.
11. Agree with #8 - Arabs love trees more than people
(01.28.10)
This is because I've been near Nablus and I've seen how you pack 20,000 people in a 500x500 square of concrete, while there are trees and fields all around. So you must really love nature if you're willing to pack people like sardines, right? Or is it because you want them to wish for death? Why don't we ask the UN that funds this circus.
12. I planted four today and gonna plant more during weekend :)
(01.28.10)
This is fun, much more fun that my job
13. Fact checking #8
Howard Immanuelson ,   US   (01.30.10)
Hmmm. Time for some fact checking. "You came here 100 years ago". Fact -- 150 years ago Jews were the largest group in Jerusalem. Fact -- Jews have been in Israel for about 3700 years and have had a continual presence there for all that time. Fact -- the vast, vast majority of Arabs emigrated to the area AFTER Jews began returning in large numbers in the 1800's. > We were here before you Apparently not.
