1. Oh, stop

First of all, selling a stamp bearing a swastika is not the same as selling a lampshade made from Jewish skin or a bar of soap made from Jewish flesh. In the next ten or twenty years, all concentration camp survivors will in all likelihood no longer be alive. The type of memorabilia being sold is necessary -- it serves as proof to a world that will work diligently to claim the Holocaust was a myth. I would rather see it all locked away in the basement of an Israeli museum than in the hands of private "collectors," but give people credit for wanting to preserve it all. When it will all have to be brought out as proof is not known; THAT it will have to be brought as proof is a certainty.
2. I didnt notice any but if I had
Yoni ,   Tel Aviv   (01.24.10)
The pitfalls of liberalism is that there are no boundaries. In tel aviv there are no boundaries and anything goes because there is no concern for right and wrong. Are we crazy? Just there this week and didnt see any hitler stuff but if I had I probably woulve lost it on the guy
3. Complicated argument here
Talula ,   Israel   (01.24.10)
They should be in Yad Vashem. But then again, Yad Vashem doesn't need them to explain the dark hole the Nazi's left in Judaism, they have enough there on display. It most definitely is a morbid and somewhat strange pastime collecting Nazi memorabilia. Nevertheless, it exits and I think it’s OK as long as it is NEVER EVER used in a vicious and vindictive way to taunt the Israeli public.
4. Selling

Hitler- Until 120! Turns my stomach, but I agree with the last comment made in the article
5. flea market
Moshe ,   T/A   (01.24.10)
Is It not the BUYERS choice wether to purchase or not,no matter the product, commodity or item? If a Jew wants Nazis paraphernalia and if there is a seller who recognises this market then why not? The Nazis attrocity will not be any the less or any the more if people and especially Jews want to buys this material I myself have seen some of it and there is no doubt a dark fascination when seeing and handling these artifacts If we are to claim being a democracy then we must abide by our claim,i see more harm in our cities selling pornorgraphy than a few men selling the odd nazis trophy
6. These creeps would probably sell

their mothers, wives and daughters to make a buck.

You mentioning that soap gives me hives. When i was a child, our mother made us promise to never, ever wash with soap that floats. Only later did she explain that floating soap contained human fat. Although I know now that it isn't necessarily true, her exhortation is so ingrained, it totally displaces logic even now. If you want me to bolt out of the tub, just throw in a bar of Ivory which happens to float. My late husband, doubting this particular "war story" and its lasting effect, just had to test it. He wasn't too thrilled with my string of obscenitites, but he was impressed with my speed out of that tub. As for Ilse Koch's infamous lampshades, they were probably not "fashioned" as much from Jewish skin as from everybody else's, because she was partial to tattoos.
8. Nazi memorabilia
Isaac Barr MD ,   Michigan, USA   (01.24.10)
I am a collector of Nazi memorabilia. There is no other way to perceive the dimensions of a culture that developed in a well educated crowd. The value of Nazi propaganda machine and persuassion of the masses that atrocities against the Jews are OK. Nazi memorabilia is not anti Semitic per se. It is a stark reminder that Nazism is not gone. It may be prevalent even among our radical academics in Israeli universities.

I did not mean to give you hives .... but if my comment serves to bring home absolute realities to some, then the shock is well worth it. As to lampshades -- my father (who was liberated from Buchenwald, by the way) -- remembers standing on line with other young boys, when Ilse Koch (may her name be cursed throughout eternity) came along and ordered them to strip to the waist. After carefully examining their skin, she selected two particularly smooth and fair-skinned boys. My father never saw them again.

Thank you, Dr. Barr. I could not agree with you more. People tend to forget that Germany of the 1930s represented the educated and cultural elite of Europe. The Jewish people need more individuals such as yourself, who are not allergic to the unvarnished truth and are not victims of wishful thinking. Again, thank you very much.

Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.24.10)
nazi memorablia are very sought after , in the whole world . It's because there is a great demand that sellers have them . And there are even forged pieces . You can also find much letters from death and other camps in most public auctions , and they too can bring high prices . Not to talk about the stamps with this face or swastika . Stamps from Theresienstadt are regularely on offer .
12. its disgusting but do we want a police state?
zionist forever   (01.24.10)
Selling Nazi memorabilia is bad taste wherever you buy it in Israel especially but we cannot hide from history just because its painful. Are these street traders doing anything illegal YES - stop it NO - leave it Other than possibly upsetting feelings of some people its not actually doing any harm and banning the sale of Nazi memorobila today but once the precident has been set that the state can control what your allowed to buy it will extend into other areas. The Tel Aviv municipality can condem it and encourage people to avoid traders that sell this stuff and also encourage other traders to shun any stall holders who do sell it.
13. memorablia
Birdi ,   Israel   (01.24.10)
Its a crime to deny the Holocaust & its ok to sell nazi memorablia in Israel. Go figure.

First of all, selling a stamp bearing a swastika is not the same as selling a lampshade made from Jewish skin or a bar of soap made from Jewish flesh. Good grief madam, you still don't believe in the old ''lampshade'' and soap bar'' stories, do you??? They have long been discredited and found to be simple inventions. How is it possible?
