Iranian people are not Arabs, they are Persian and speak Farsi. They may be small patches of Arabs, but they are immigrants and have no substantial roots in the country. Like many of your other uninformed comments, this shows your lack on knowledge and your clear bias. I suggest you keep your opinions to yourself, or, at least research the subject before spouting of at the mouth from way over there in America.
12. Hey let's dialogue with them!!
Dan ,   USA   (01.29.10)
Maybe they will invite us to the next execution! I remain mystified why people who espouse diversity still want to talk to people who execute political opposition, gay people, women (raping them the night before their execution), Bahais, Kurds, and anyone else they feel like. In the same breath they trash Israel, which is just the polar opposite of all this. Is this some nightmare I am in????

They were also charged with attacking G-D. So now the Ayatollahs are claiming to be G-D. Isn't that a crime in Islam? Bet the punishment is death too.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.29.10)
So for all their ancient history, different language, different ethnicity and "culture," why did the Persians never bother to devise a script all their own? Why use the Arabic script? All that ancient culture, no writing ability? Darius couldn't -- or wouldn't -- want to bother writing or reading? Hmm. Maybe it wasn't all that great a culture after all. Even if it was -- look how badly it has devolved.

19. #11 Ali and others, I apologize for the bigotry and...
Zvi   (01.30.10)
... ignorance shown by some of my fellow Jews. Any Jewish person with a sense of our own history should already know the difference. The Persian culture was around for thousands of years before Arab identity mattered or Islam existed, and Jews have cause to remember historical as well as modern relationships with that ancient culture. The Persian emperor Cyrus facilitated our (Jews') previous return from exile to Israel in 540 B.C.E, and the Persian emperor Darius supported the completion of the Second Temple, at whose western wall Jews pray today. Any person with any knowledge of Iranian society also understands that there are many cultures in Iran - Persian, Azeri (like Moussavi) and Kurdish, for example. Iran is much more culturally diverse than most Arab countries. Most Jews that I know sincerely hope that the people of Iran are able to overcome the IRI and build the free and flourishing society that they so richly deserve. The hard-liners' bare-faced judicial murder of peaceful political opponents shows that they are scared. But it is also horrible. The IRI, for all its faults, has been less brutal than many regimes in the region would have been in its place; but the increasingly repressive trend is alarming, and only portends worse.

21. Executing Kurds in general
Rizgar ,   S.Kurdistan   (01.30.10)
Iranian forces have clashed with Kurdish fighters in Iran's north eastern border region and arrested a suspect in the killing of a prosecutor. Vali Hajgholizadeh, state prosecutor for Khoy city in west Iran was shot dead outside his home on 18 January. Regional officials said the The Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) claimed to have carried out the attack. Kurds in Iran faces exection more than others, due to many reasons.

Hal ,   USA   (01.30.10)
It is obvious that these clerics don't read from history books. If they did, they would know that this has been tried many times in many places and it never works. It is you clerics that are against G-d and his people. It is you that G-d will judge harshly. It is you that will swing on a rope. It is you that will be cursed by the memory of your people. It is you that will cause the people of Iran to toss the facist crew that leads this nightmare into the abyss. So long you haters and corrupters of G-d's word!!
24. The first four Muslim caliphs after the

death of The Prophet were all assassinated. This period is referred to as the (Muslim) Golden Age. Of course, the assassins were not Persian.
25. To Ali: I, like Zvi, as a Jewish person,
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.30.10)
apologize for the ridiculous remarks made by fellow Jews about Persian culture. It may be that we, collectively, are temporarily blinded due to the immense challenges and obstacles which have been put before us. We are aware that at one time, Persian culture hit a pinnacle and was particularly known in the West for its great architecture, mosaics and the grandeur of its poetry. All civilizations have their ups and downs, however, and I think that since the explosion during the period of Persian brilliance and creativity, a vast downtrend has been identified and, at present, this downtrend is represented by the authority of deadly Muslim clerics. I look forward to the time when these clerics are overthrown and the true, creative genius of the Persian people is set free again.

70% of iran's population is under 30 years old. and yes, the numbers are on their side since most students are in that 70% and most of them are violently against the regime and mullahcracy. hameed aboughaze, iranian
27. #11 Ali, a simple question.
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.30.10)
If you the Iranians are such a separate people from the Arabs as you claim, then how come Iran is at the forefront of the Arab effort to dispose of Israel? If the Iranians are so unrelated to Arabs, then why do they identify with the Palestinians and Hizbullah, so much? If the Iranians have nothing to do with Arab culture and mindset, why is Iran adopting all the worst attributes of this Arab culture? Why can't they simply leave the Arabs to handle their feud with Israel by themselves?
28. Tahl, Ashdod:
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.30.10)
I am not Persian (Iranian) of course but I do communicate with modern day Iranians and they tell me that the normal Iranian does not want war and just wants to go about his/her business. They tend to be secular, as opposed to being dogmatically religious in nature. The Iranian revolution failed, in a sense, because it ended up trading the shah for the ayatollahs. It has been commonplace in history for a country to be governed by authorities who are completely alienated from the citizens whom they govern. That appears to be the case in modern day Iran. I hope someone who possesses firsthand knowledge about Iran could report on the situation in a more inciteful way than what I am able to muster.

31. IDIOTS MULLAHS ARE ENCOURAGING REVOLUTION
zionist forever   (01.30.10)
When your to brutal and start killing opposition it will lead to revolution. The majority of the people who rallied round in support of Mousavi after the elections had nothing to do with actually supporting him. The government ordered the use of extreme force and people started getting killed. Mousavi came like some kind of icon of freedom If they had used reasonable force to break up protests or even not done anything support for Mousavi would have ended within a week and people would just get on with life as usual. The more the mullahs start executing opposition supporters they are boosting support for the opposition. They need to start saying and doing nothing Mousavi wants to provoke things things because he doesn't give a dam about the people. He is just a political oportunist and if the deaths of some of his supporters will help him then great. The last thing the world needs now is a revolution in Iran. You can't control the outcome or wars & revolutions you may end up with a new guy who is worse than the mullahs. The bankrupting of Germany and sending the Keiser into exile after WW1 led the rise of the Nazis. Thats why the US intentionally left the empror in charge after WW2 The Russian revolution got us communism & the cold war. Post Saddam Hussain Iraq. They left Saddam in power in 1991 because he was a controlled enemy we knew Afghanistan the place is a nightmare now. For now at least the Middle East needs the mullahs but without nukes.
