Jerusalem has never, never been the capital city of any people or state but that of the Jewish people, since ancient times. In fact, there has never been a "Palestinian" state, ever, and only in the late 1960s the Arabs of Eretz Israel (Land of Israel / Palestine) came to perceive themselves as a separate people, and this too only for political reasons. The "eternal capital" is simply another fictional stories being woven and sold to world public in the form of a "narrative", totally detached from actual historic account.
