31. Good for the students!
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (02.09.10)
Oren is just another apologist for Israel's state terror machine. Instead of sanctions on money from Americans going to Cuba, the United States should make it illegal for any American to send money to Israel, even barring family members from getting any American dollars. Israel is disrupting world peace and promoting terrorism across the world. It is time Israel is forcefully reminded that 78% is all the mean little country is going to get, and it is high time that it vacate the paltry 22% left to the Palestinians. In other words, sit the hell down and shut up. You got the Lion's share for your state, let the Palestinians have theirs without your incessant killing machine at their throats just because Israel has a Semite problem, hating the other side of the coin will be your undoing.
32. #1 - If that were true, you wouldn't have to remain anonymou

33. #9 - So murders in NYC are acceptable due to inherent danger
William ,   Israel   (02.09.10)
Based on your logic, because living in Hebron or Gaza (on historically Jewish land, I might add) is a bit dangerous because of violent racist neighbors, anything that happens to them is acceptable. So, should we accept the murders of people who chose to live in the Bronx, Detroit, New Orleans, and DC simply because they knew the risks and lived their anyway? There is no reason why Israelis who return to land they were ethnically cleansed from by Arab mobs leading up to 1948 shouldn't be allowed to return. The UN resolutions completely put the onus on the Arabs to STOP aggressions and live in peace!
34. #25 - The population is coming around
William ,   Israel   (02.09.10)
Really? According to several polls over the past year, support in the US is more than 80%, with more than 50% considering "palestinians" as detrimental to any peace movements and of the majority see them as "terrorists". Maybe in your self-centered Leftist world which excludes those who think differently there is a belief that the US populace considers Israel "apartheid" but the truth is many of them acknowledged that Cast Lead was a defensive war, that "palestinian" leaders often call for the destruction of Israel rather than live in peace side-by-side, and that the wall was a necessry outcome to terrorism. I know you and your ilk consider those who disagree with you as "fringe" or "ignorant" but the truth is - this is the majority that you claimed support you. For a world citizen, you can't seem to see past your own hubris.
35. #31 - Israel got the lion's share of the State
William ,   Israel   (02.09.10)
That's because: 1) we earned it!! We purchased much of the land over decades and tilled it, drained swamps, made it productive. 2) fought a genocidal defensive war and won the rest, despite losing a great deal of land through ethnic cleansing by Arabs - this fact STILL must be rectified because justice is deserved by the Jews. and 3) in the original partition - it was Arabs who got the lion's share of the land - don't blame us for the Brits going back on their deal and handing it to Hashemites. Not our problem, just like their giving away Kurdish land to Iraq's rulers is not our problem, but still a travesty of justice that must be rectified. Coincidentally - based on anaylst reports and world economic forums, it seems the biggest disrupters to world peace are oil producers who hold the world hostage, and rogue State like Iran, China, and North Korea. Hard to believe that a tiny State of Jews, with no economic power or natural resources, can be considered a global problem. Your purposeful ignorance reminds me of an old native Indian saying - "when a person stands with his nose against a tree all day, he believes the world is nothing but forests".
36. #30 - Yet Irvine students support the accusations against IL
William ,   Israel   (02.09.10)
Despite any real evidence, many students at Irvine, especially those of the Islamic-American student group, believe and repeat such venom as "Israel targets children", "Israel has no right to exist", "Israel is a war criminal", and "Palestinians just want to live in peace". None of the statements above have been proven except in the court of public opinion which is usually devoid of facts. This article might lack credibility because of the reason you cited, but most of the Irvine Student body has lost their credibility long ago.

Stop spewing your Islamist-Jihadist crap. You seem so obsessed with your Islamist-Jihadist venom against Israel. There is no place for Islamist-Jihadism in America. America is the Land of the Free and the Brave not Trojan Horse from tyrannical states bringing in their AntiSemitism disease.
38. #23 in Florida
Sean ,   Montreal, Quebec   (02.10.10)
I seriously doubt the veracity of your post. The Jewish community in Montréal is extremely vibrant. The Aspers paid big money to have the mercenary come from Israel with complete disregard for the crimes he committed and the constituent population of the university. It was a blatant attempt at provocation and it worked. The Zionists got their propaganda points and Bibi got to line his pockets. What were the exact nature of your injuries? You speak of antisemitism in Québec and ironically refer to Canadian students as, "Arabs". Perhaps it is better that you have returned to Florida with such a tribal mentality. This divisive hatred that Zionists preach is unwelcome to the vast majority of Québecers.
39. #1 & #30 - nice try, LIARS
Chatich   (02.10.10)
Here is the list of the 11 arrested protestors. Joseph Tamim Haider Osama Ahmed Sabry Shabaik Mohemed Mohy Eldeen Abdelgany Ali Mohammad Sayeed Asaad Traina Mohammad Qureashi Aslam Akhtar Hakim Nasreddine Kebir Taher Herzallam Shaheen Waleed Nassar Khalid Bahgat Akari 100% muslim arabs. They even had bus some arabs in from other campuses. Suck on that, liars. Link: http://collegelife.freedomblogging.com/2010/02/09/police-identify-12-students-arrested-at-uci/16011/
40. UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz also bad
david ,   Los Angeles, U.S.   (02.10.10)
Having attended UC Berkeley and UC Santa Cruz and gone to events at UCLA, my experience is that shouting down speakers and disrupting their events is standard behavior for the Left, and rare among conservatives. At UC Santa Cruz, however, the Israel-hatred comes as much from the faculty as from the leftist students.
41. #38 "Tribal Mentality"
Cynthia ,   USA   (02.10.10)
Describes the disruptive students who interfere with lectures by Israeli leaders. Glad they were booted out of the auditorium. Can you offer an example of "divisive hatred" preached by Michael Oren? Perhaps you should attend these lectures and stop stereotyping Israelis.
42. Incorrect Info
ArabAmerican ,   Irvine, CA USA   (02.10.10)
Not only is the info incorrect but notice how the story ends: that the local Muslim student union is under federal investigation on suspicion of gathering funds for terror activity! Yeah, right! This is the new line Israelis use since the "anti-semitism trade marl" is no longer working! Simply propaganda. Israel is guilty of genocide and the whole world had finally seen the facts! AA
43. funny
Nimrod ,   Baghdad, Iraq   (02.11.10)
this behavior is so out dated, maybe they should have listened to what he had to say but then again some people can only distract to get attention without focusing on the cause, who knows maybe they could have learned a few things from the Israeli Ambassador. My advice is listen and then you can argue in a civilized manner during a Q&A session state facts dont be a hater.
44. Arab?
Irvine, CA, USA   (02.12.10)
Dear YNet, I love reading your news articles but I have to disagree with the title of your article. The majority of those students that protested were not Arab - just Muslim, not Arab. I am an Arab but I am not a Muslim. I did not protest. I don't agree with what those students did. It's such a shame.
