polls are funny things and depending on who sponsored them, along with how the question was phrased you can get any answer you want. How else does a leftwing minority always seem to come up with polls supporting them???? Let's see the questions, let's see how they were asked, let's see who were asked the questions and of course who paid for the poll....then we can talk about its legitamacy....

If the criticism supports those who want to take away the Jews' homeland, piece by piece, it certainly IS treason. Israel is at war. Support it or LEAVE it.

Come on, this is not rocket science. Those who offer specific criticism of Israeli policies, like leaving Gaza or continuin g to build in the settlements are not traitors. They are exercising their rights as residents of a democratic state. Mostly everyone agrees with this type of right of legitimate free speech. However, those Israelis who are traitors are using these kinds of examples to declare that nothing is treasonous as long as they agree with it. It is interesting that so many on the left are quick to accuse critics of obvious actions against the state as McCarthyite and undemocratic. Those who give secret data to enemies, who work actively to destroy Israel as a Jewish State, those who lie and defame Israel are indeed traitors. Their actions are meant to harm the state.

Okay, okay, enough is enough. For starters, Israel's policies are like Jeckel and Hyde..very changeable. I questioned Olmert/Livni's appeasement policy, and wishful thinking. Am I a traitor? I liked Bibi then, and like him now, but was against Wye and giving up the Arab city before reciprocity. Am I a traitor? And besides, as an American born Zionist Jew, what influence do "I" have? I support AIPAC, ZOA, Z Street, Camera, but am lukewarm about Birthright Israel. I am an activist for a 2 state solution: Israel's Allon Plan and Jordan. Allow the Pales autonomy with restraints...(BTW, the Arab-leftist-Internation protests "things to come", if Israel relinquishes more land. "Still not enough" is the Arab goal, until Tel Aviv, Haifa and W. Jerusalem. Get it! To Israel: in 50 years, make a decision about land for peace. Let us speak our minds..but it's YOUR NECKS on the line, NOT ours.

To Marlene: Isn't part of the problem Israel's changing attitudes and policies, as well as having 10 parties? I mean like it or not, Meretz and Labor ARE legitimate. Many people supported Labor or the central party (with some Likud members). Some Israelis and Americans likes Olmert/Livni/Barak, who almost gave the ship away. Barak was a good solderis but an aweful leader and politician, besides being a fool. Sharon thought returning Gaza would foster peace. Sure and I'll sell you the Washington Bridge. Now Bibi, who has red lines. seems to have matured..and say little. Lieberman is his hit man...and doesn't justify his reality. Bottom line: Israel is at war. The Jews are at war. Its time we all woke up to that plain fact. But freedom to speak is not treason, unless ONE commits treason. If Israel is rattled, declare marshal law. and enforce controls. US Jews have a right to speak their minds..as do Israelis...Or mute both.
