The whole Dubai investigation is a farce. Right away Dubai police stated they want to "quickly conclude the investigation" and began finger pointing at Israel before getting a single shred of evidence. As for evidence, we were shown copies of 11 passport photos and some blurry cctv footage. All of these could have been easily faked in the three weeks since the assassination. Even if the photos/film are authentic, all the evidence so far is circumstantial, at best, and in no way proves anything conclusively. The names of supposed "Israeli agents" were revealed before any sort of investigation into their identities took place, whilst the names of the two Palestinians arrested were being withheld "in order to protect them." Hmmm... now why would Dubai police reveal names of private individuals, whose identities were "borrowed", thereby subjecting them to the clear and present danger of bloody revenge attacks, whilst protecting the identities of Palestinians already in custody? Incidentally, perhaps UK and Ireland should be complaining to Dubai about endangering their "citizens" rather than pester Israel with their insinuations. Then there are silly proclamations, such as "99% certain Mossad did it." This is a highly unprofessional and very questionable practice. How does Dubai police come up with a 99% figure? I am curious what kind of algorithm do they use to quantify their degree of certainty? Are they sure it isn't 82%, or 43%, or, perhaps, 1%? The point is, unless they can say with 100% certainty and base it on conclusive evidence, it is all pure speculation and they can state any degree of certainty they want. No serious professional police force would go in front of cameras and speculate, esp. in a highly sensitive international case with major potential repercussions, such as this one.
