1. There must be a balance of military power
Goliath   (02.27.10)
Israel is fully supported economically and militarily by the US.Therefore, they can do anything they want in the Middle East. I hope Russia will provide full military support for the countries daily threatened by Israel arrogant military. Following this balanced military power, we can see who is the winner - the coward Israeli soldiers or the mujahidins.:)

3. Russia to sell choppers to Lebanon
Robert Nagyhasi ,   Budapest, Hungary   (02.27.10)
Contrary to popular thought, the biggest problem ins the middle East is Russia & China. They have proven to not truthworthy and jew hating countries.
4. Russian Choppers
Hal ,   Usa   (02.27.10)
You have to hand it to the Russians, they play the Arabs and Iranians like a violin. They promise to supply weapons systems and keep stringing them along. Choppers to Lebanon means more crap to shoot down. Thanks for the target practice Vladimir!
5. :: Good!
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (02.27.10)
More metal in the hands of Arab pilots to become rusty and fall from the sky on top of Arabs.

7. Good News.
Ozzie ,   Cleveland, USA   (02.27.10)
This should be a good news for everyone in the area. The more the Arabs gain more power, the less the chance for a future war. When soon the balance will reach, Jews and Arabs will gladly sit down and sign a peace wich will be apermanent.

Ron B. ,   Lod   (02.27.10)
Will Lebanon find its way out of the grip of bigotry and terror? Across the Lebanon border, Israelis may have once found a culture not so distant from their own, with mercy, decorum and “rules of engagement” even in times of conflict. The Lebanese will have to retrieve that older world if they are to find their way out of the grip of bigotry and terror. A decent country would be under no moral or political obligation to celebrate a murderer as a heroic son returning from a long captivity. More about the reality of the M-E at : http://xrl.us/kkxrc

Didn't David drop you with a stone to the head? Helicopters won't change a thing. The Lebanese are still trying to find spies in their midst. Speaking of cowards don't you guys fight in track shoes?

..that after the 1948 eschalta d'geula and the establishment of our medinat yisrael, that Hashem will not allow the umos haolam to take eretz yisrael away from us. K'yemei tzeischem m'eretz mitzrayim Hakodosh Boruch Hu will make and openly show the world nissim in defense of kal yisroel. Moshiach will then reveal himself and bring all the separate factions of klal yisroel together in peace and with achdus.
12. If the halacha of haba lehorgoch apply
Jae ,   Lynn USA   (02.27.10)
How come in mitzrayim where we were killed every day in the thousands, why don't we find the yidden rising against pharaoh? (even the bnei efraim only tried to get out because they had a mistake in the chesbon of how long the decree of golus mitzrayim was, as is explained in many divrei chazal) all we find in mitzrayim was that the yidden waited for the real goel to come and take them out, even so far that Moshe was concerned that the yidden will not believe him to be the goel. (These yidden were zoiche to get the torah) All through our painful history we were persecuted. The story of the megila, the crusaders, the inquisition, the pogroms in Europe, the blood libels, etc. All the tzadikim and torah giants from all generations understood that we can't and are not allowed to fight while the decree of hashem is for us to be in golus.

Message to Jae, I just realized how awful that you have not read the history. Our father Jacob (Israel) and Issac both married to ancient Syrian women (Aram) they cannot be the enemy of Israel. I suggest you do lot of reading on your Torah or our lovely Bible. If you consider "the Jews" are the only God's chosen? Then what about other humanity? Aren't we all God's children? God chosen are those who believe in God of Abraham, that is including Jews, Christians, and Muslims. We all are God's chosen.

It is a multi-party parliamentary system with a President and a Prime Minister, neither of whom belong to the Hizbullah party. The party of the President, the March 14 Party, has put together a majority coalition in Parliament which includes Hizbullah, as well as other parties. Hizbullah in no way controls the Lebanese government, they merely participate in it. Lebanon is a democracy, and its political leaders are considered to be largely pro-West. Your idiotic assertions are obviously based on NO knowledge whatsoever about the Lebanese government.
15. recon flights
(02.27.10)
israel does recon flights over lebanon...Lebanon has every right to shoot at those planes. The recon flights are looking for: the missiles that Hizballa, a militia the controls s.lebanon, has hidden and has stated very clearly and has the history to prove it, that they plan on using those missiles to attack israeli cities. the recon flights are designed to find those missiles so that when they are prepared to launch they can be destroyed on the ground.....and since the Lebanese govt seems incapable of controlling hizballa, it is up to the israeli govt to use non violent recon flights to protect its citizens in the event that hizaballa decides to start another war. Second: Iran has been getting anti aircraft missiles from russia...hizballa is a client of theirs and its reasonable to assume that they may get some of those missiles. How they work is rather important if israel is going to protect its citizens from hizballa....remember them? an illegal milita that controlls S. lebanon, parts of Beruit and E Lebanon, have their own foreign policy and have started a war in the past... if one day Lebanon decides to take back S. Lebanon and take apart Hizballa and declare something like they have no intention of attacking israel, there might be a case for israel to stop the recon flights....as per Jordan and Egypt. In the meantime the non violent flights serve to protect israeli cities from missiles that hizballa has promised to use. for those who prefer that israel NOT have the recon flights..i refer them to the last war, where had the israeli not done recon flights, not destroyed the larger missiles, many would have landed on israelis cities as nassrallas promised (and tried) resulting in many dead israeli citizens. Each shall make up their own small mind what is the preferable sequence of events hameed aboughaze, iranian
16. Is Lebanon a democracy?
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (02.27.10)
I keep hearing repeated that Lebanon is a democracy but is it really? I think I remember reading about some wording in their Constitution that prohibits the person who gets the most votes and may be the most qualified person for the job from becoming Prime Minister if that person happens to be a Muslim. Regardless of the election outcome the PM has to be a Christian. Even though Christians are in the minority in Lebanon. Is that true? Do I have this wrong? Does anyone know?
17. Giving S300 Defence missiles to Lebonan is more legitimate
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (02.27.10)
behaviour, Warplanes and Choppers are for attack but they should defend their childern from Israel and Lebonan must receive S300 missiles against Israeli warplanes. Rest of issue may be handled by Hizbullah, if Lebonan had S300 Hizbullah would march into Occupied land and kick occupier off the map!

Elie ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (02.27.10)
Lebanon is the only democracy in the arab world, well it's supposed to be a true democracy, but USA. France and KSA and the one hand, and Syria and the other keep interfering in our elections, and no lebanese politician will come to power without their approval (this is why it took us months and months to elect our president). And you were right in saying that the lebanese prime minister has to be a muslim... in fact, the lebanese prime minister has to be a SUNNI muslim (ex. : hariri, siniora = the guy who cried on TV during the second lebanon war, sunnis having a long history of alliance with the saoudis), the president has to be a MARONITE christian (maronites having a long history of alliance with the israelis), and the speaker of parliament has to be a CHIITE muslim (chiite = hezbollah, amal movement, all supported by syria and iran, hated by the rest of the lebanese and opposing israel). So now you can understand why lebanon is not a true democracy, because even if we have elections and everything, other countries are backing specific parties, and no decision will come from the lebanese people themselves. what the lebanese people get is war from the israelis for a war they didnt even want but that was decided by iran, war from the palestinians for whom we opened our borders but who began killing christians and started a 20 year civil war, and continuous car bombings by syria aiming christians leaders. Even if world media is hiding this fact, the majority of lebanese want peace with israel, the majority of us oppose hezbollah (thats why they keep on losing the elections and only have like 3 MPs lol), but most importantly, ALL lebanese love to party and are fed up with foreign interference in our affairs peace from beirut
19. #1 needs a history lesson. Didn't work in 1967 and 1973.
Cynic ,   USA   (02.27.10)
Not only did the Russians provide full military support to Egypt and Syria, they even piloted Migs against Israel and were shot down. In the First Lebanon war Israel shot down every Syrian Mig that challenged them. At least it is fun to dream.

Nice to hear from another Lebanese point of view. It is so sad that the good people of Lebanon have been saddled with this nightmare. It seems always to be the case that there are plenty of decent people that are swept up into the caos that the fomenters of hate and discord thrive on. As in many other cases, there are plenty of outside actors that have a vested interest in the destablization of Lebanon. I am sure that if these actors were eliminated, Lebanon and Israel would flourish and it would be party time. Elie I wish for you and Lebanon peace and happiness. Shalom!
21. Lebanon is a democracy
Eli ,   Batroun, Lebanon   (03.01.10)
Lebanon has learned to cope with the large variety of religions his very small population includes (4 millions Lebanese, 18 sects). That's why high positions in the government, the parliament, the army... are divided between the dominant religions and sects (Christian Maronite, Catholics, orthodox, Sunnites and Shiaa), for instance, the president of the republic has to be Christian Maronite, the prime minister should be Muslim sunni, the head of the parliament should be Muslim Shiaa... It's a unique democracy, a unique constitution, a unique country... The best!!
22. RE: Russian choppers
Elie ,   Lebanon   (03.01.10)
Now it's gonna be our turn to start shooting your fighters and choppers down... sorry for the inconvenience... And of course we're not relying on these Russian choppers to win any war... It's gonna be used in the internals problems in case we're facing terrorists and military insurgents.
