1. Forget the passports, we'll forget this.
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.04.10)
Mossad would never use Australian passports again, Australians would never hit and run in Israel again. Let's call it even, and put this mess behind us.
2. Must have had a few after the investigation
aussie ,   israel   (03.04.10)
3. Perfect timing..
OsakA   (03.04.10)
How convinient..
4. Law abiding Aussie Police!
Spencer ,   Israel   (03.04.10)
First let's deal with the hit and run members of the Australian police in Israel. We have proof of the commission of that crime. Then we can move on and see who really carried out the "hit" in Dubai! Whoever carried it out deserves thanks on a job well done. The world is rid of another Arab terrorist.
5. As a pedestrian who must suffer with the local cyclists...
dorothy friend ,   tel aviv   (03.04.10)
.... I wonder if the cyclist was obeying the traffic laws that they are obligated to. Aside from cycling in the pedestrian section of the sidewalk, I see them running red lights, not signalling and talking on the cell phones (not with a hands off set) all the time.
6. Irony at its best (a turn for a turn)
Dovid ,   Modiin   (03.04.10)
The Dubai Key Stone police accuse Israel of assassinating a known terrorist that Dubai was harboring. The Australian Key Stone police come to save the day to investigate and judge Israel. In the process they left an Innocent girl on the side of the road for dead. Thank G-d she was able to walk away with a damaged bike and a bruised ego. The three Australian Key Stone police officers need to be investigated and thrown out of the country for the hit and run accident.
7. AUSTRALIAN OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVES -
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (03.04.10)
HIT AND RUN OVER AN ISRAELI WOMEN ON A BICYCLE WITH A CAR, AND JUST RUN AWAY FROM THERE. According to the report, the officers did not stop to offer help to the woman on the bike. THIS IS AMAZING AUSTRALIA, SEEMS THAT JEHOVAH, THE GOD OF ISRAEL IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE. LAUGHTER !!!. Arn.
8. Women drivers
Robert ,   Brisbane, Australia   (03.04.10)
The driver was Israeli.
9. 3 STOOGES IN HOLY LAND "HOLIDAY"
Scott ,   Sunshine Coast, Aust   (03.04.10)
ANOTHER WASTE OF AUSTRALIAN TAXPAYERS MONEY... BRING THEM HOME.
10. They ran her over like a Kangaroo on a dusty outback road
Alan ,   SA   (03.04.10)
Rudd's boys thought they driving somewhere north of Alice Springs and no one cares!
11. Conditions of War
Janet Brooks ,   UK   (03.04.10)
Fault of the police for not arresting Mordecais wife, Beverly and Steven Mordecai for crimes against a prophet. The rest of the world are unrealistic in expecting certain behaviour from Israeli officials as if they are at peace. Their behaviour is different because they are in a constant state of war, and will be until the end of the world.
12. to #9 yeah their vacation is over
ghostq   (03.04.10)
that was the only purpose for the visit.
13. SO THE OZ'S CAN ABUSE ISRAELIS?
stude ham   (03.04.10)
look at their phony high moral reasons for being in israel at this time. what hypocrites.
14. #8
(03.04.10)
you're actually wrong on that one. whenever a foreign delegation comes to israel, their driver is never israeli, but a consulate attache from that country who drives the delegation around. in this case, an australian that has been living in israel, not jewish, not israeli.
15. #5 - Dorothy - no matter what, driver MUST stop
William ,   Israel   (03.04.10)
The fact isn't that the biker was hit by the car - accidents do happen. The crime here was that they didn't stop and essentially ran away. No matter how bikers act, a driver of a vehicle MUST be in control of their car at ALL TIMES. The actions of one side do not absolutely absolve the other side from taking responsibility while they are driving.
16. I believe the biker - Aussie animosity is evident
William ,   Israel   (03.04.10)
I believe the biker's vresion of the altercation with the journalist. Her story is pretty detail-specific and there is no covering up the fact that Aussie's have animosity towards Israelis. Perhaps the Aussie's feel vindicated to treat Israelis like crap through the alleged passport ordeal. Can we now treat Aussie's like crap because of the biker accident ordeal? At least the incident in our country is proven, the passport issue is still conjecture.
17. Put them in jail. Sue them #
carlos ,   San Diego U.S.A.   (03.04.10)
18. #14 - Re: #8 - Not the first time
William ,   Israel   (03.04.10)
#8's post is not the fisrt time Aussies made totally bogus accusations based on no evidence whatsoever. Thank you for setting the record straight to Robert in Brisbane. Now to show the Aussies they have the wrong target in their passport forgery complaint.
19. Typical Israeli behavior
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (03.04.10)
I am always amazed at the Israeli method of distracting the story from the true message: the use of forged Australian passports. Now we are treated to a story of the Australian police committing a 'hit -and -run of a cyclist when it is fairly obvious that 1) the officers were almost surely not the drivers of the vehicle and 2) the woman is claiming 'assault' by a reporter. Does anyone else seem to think the story is so incredible as to defy belief?
20. #14
John ,   London   (03.04.10)
That doesn't make #8 less funny though. :-)
21. #5, as a cyclist in TLV
Ari Olvera ,   Tel-Aviv Israel   (03.04.10)
As a cyclist in TLV, I see people walking down the middle of clearly marked bike paths with baby strollers and toddlers walking unsupervised, 1-lane streets with no bike lanes whatsoever ,and taxis and buses purposely trying to run cyclists off the road! Not to mention oblivious pedestrians more likely than not jabbering on cell-phones, not looking at all where they are going, wandering through the parks, the promenade, and yes even the streets- Causing danger to themselves, and also the Cyclists that must constantly run an obstacle course to avoid them!! I choose not to own a car in TLV because it's a small and flat city perfect for bikes- Except that it is just about the most unfriendly city towards Bikes I have ever seen! why should cars, (who constantly run red lights and stop signs, drivers talking on cell-phones, women applying makeup while driving, and almost ZERO bike lanes on the streets, head-in-the-clouds pedestrians, and the ever present scourge of children being allowed to run wild everywhere, interfere with my right to be able to ride my bike for transportation and for fun?!
22. #16 NOT SO!
Scott ,   Sunshine Coast ,Aust   (03.04.10)
Dont worry William. This is just the Australian PM Kevin Rudd showboating. He has to - no sincere country can have its passport system allegedly exploited - and not do anything about it. So he sends a few cops over to make it look like he's doing something. They wont find anything of course - except what a wonderful, exciting country Israel. Most Aussies still love ya. There's a few that TB here I've noticed, but their sentiments are the MINORITY- which they dont admit of course and the reality of it really gives them the shits.
23. Mikesailor #19 typical anti-Semitic behavior
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.04.10)
The anti-Semites method of distracting the story of a innocent Israeli civilian being run over by Australian government officials that then turn it into a felony by fleeing the scene of the crime. The an Australian reporter attacking the same victim again. A pattern for both Australia and anti-Semites like you.
24. I'v thought, perhaps naively, that Australian, like us,
Margaret ,   London, ON Canada   (03.04.10)
Canadian, are dissent people. This case proves to me the opposite. The only remaining question that I have is: did the Australians behave the way they did because a Jewess was hit and not an "arian"?
25. "Any state"
Tal Benschar ,   Clifton, NJ USA   (03.04.10)
The Australian FM may live to regret those words. He said, "Any state." So when it comes out that Egypt and Jordan were responsible for this assassination (as reports are now coming out) will their amabassador's be called in for the same talk? Remember, Mr. Smith, you said "Any State."
26. TALKBACK NUMBER 8.
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (03.04.10)
ACCORDING TO TALKBACKS NUMBER 14 AND 18., YOUR ATTEMT TO COVER UPP THE SHAME ON AUSTRALIA, WITH LYING ACCUSATIONS AGAINST ISRAEL, INCREASES THE SHAME ON YOU. BOOOH - !!!. Arn.
27. Call Chief Tamim to investigate
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.04.10)
He'll say there were 30 agents, not 3 and the bicycle was disguised. Perhaps the cyclist was wearing glasses and traveled to Israel from Dubai.
28. Driver
hee haw   (03.04.10)
Whilst I would hate to interrupt or spoil the chorus of foaming-at-the-mouth, rabid and yapping chihauhaus which frequent this talkback, one point is relevant. The driver of the embassy vehicle which allegedly hit the girl and drove away wihtout stopping is an Israeli Jew employed by the Australian Embassy. Must be a self-hating Jew etc. yap yap howl howl.
29. #23 Typically I tend to agree with you
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (03.04.10)
but I can't help it.......my Antisemitism has no limits......I always find a a way to somehow blame you regardless of topic or context......what to do.........can you help me? is there a cure for me? maybe rehab? find one for me, please
30. #25 - what reports are you reffering to re Egypt and Jordan?
