Salma ,   Palestine   (03.06.10)
Help Hamas as not to collapse! You will not allow that to happen, right?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Fatah:
debbie ,   israel   (03.06.10)
From their mouths to God's ears. It's about time to get rid of this cruel, brutal, corrupt, criminal regime.
3. the fallen tree no 1
(03.06.10)
listen when she was a seed, they watered her and cared for her clearing the way and then took care of her to grow big, now with branches they saw them off and soon they put an axe to her, such is the rise n fall of all things in this garden.
4. Salma, what have you been smoking?
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.06.10)
You seem to be losing it. That's too bad because sometimes you have contributed from the Palestinian perspective.
5. Don’t worry Salma
Eitan ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (03.06.10)
Seeing as Israel helped establish Hamas as a counter movement to Fatah there is little chance that Israel will allow Hamas to collapse. Israel could destroy Hamas tomorrow but never will as we need to keep the palestinian people divided and unfocused of national unity.
6. will there be cctv of it ?
eporue ,   europe   (03.06.10)
...suspects on faked emirati passports, disguised with tamim-spectacles... => red notice
7. No. 4 - ever heard of "irony"?

8. Putting idiots in charge will bring chaos
Josh   (03.06.10)
9. PUTTING ROTTEN APPLES IN A BARREL OF GOOD ONES WON'T WORK
jewishness ,   NYC USA   (03.06.10)
PUTTING ROTTEN APPLES IN A BARREL OF GOOD ONES WON'T MAKE THE BAD ONES GOOD. KEEP ALL THE ROTTEN APPLES WHERE THEY BELONG...IN GAZA.
10. Don't Gloat
Ussishkin ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (03.06.10)
It would be a major mistake both by Fatah and by Israel to gloat over the internal Gazan threats to Hamas control. Those seeking to undermine Hamas are even more fundamentalist in their Islam - al Qaeda in their philosophy. We may yet have to find mutual accommodations with Hamas if the alternative is so much more extreme.
11. Alas Hamas were best suicide bombers & kidnapers we ever had
Alan ,   SA   (03.06.10)
12. The Dangers of Perpetual Rift
Nour ,   Palestine   (03.06.10)
Hamas sits in a pressure cooker. With deepening walls around the narrow coastal territory and slimming chances of a deal with Fatah and the rest of secular Palestine, what hopes for the typical Palestinian family in besieged Gaza? The only reprieve will come from signing the Egyptian paper (unfortunately). The alternative is famine and political and security chaos. Of course, this was Sharon the vegetable's plan all along - to demonstrate to the world that Palestine is "incapable of governing itself" - this is while it imposes a total and inhumane siege on Gaza as a punishment to Hamas which expelled the illegal squatters.
13. You're right Andrew, irony it was. Guess
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.06.10)
I just missed it. Thanks for clearing that one up. Of course you British are masters of irony. Your're born, it seems, with a head start.
14. Nour, Israel welcomes a "peaceful" state
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.06.10)
of Palestine, not a Hamas controlled terror state in Gaza. While Israel mainly refrained from responding during the six-month armistice ending in December 2008 (statistics thanks to the Shin Bet), Hamas and associates launched 361 rockets and 303 mortar shells into civilian areas of southern Israel. I was there. I can tell you that we did not want that. Olmert and Livni and Barak did everything they could not to respond and it was the everyday voter who forced them to launch Cast Lead. I am glad they did only they stopped too soon. The sooner Hamas can be eliminated, the better off Israel will be and the better off the Palestinian people will be. And no, this is not some huge drama orchestrated by Israel. One of the weaknesses of past Palestinian leaders is to blame others for all their own weaknesses and faults. You are approaching the "blame game" with your latest post. I think, incidentally, that Sayyad may be a genuine leadert and, it appears, at this stage, that he may be the leader which Palestine needs and with whom we (Israel) may make real strides. The overthrow of Hamas, who are now confronting huge internal struggles, would be beneficial for both sides.
15. No. 13 – What do you mean!
Andrew M ,   Leeds, UK   (03.06.10)
“Of course you British are masters of irony” What exactly are you implying? That us British are the epitome of Irony! Sir I was only trying to be helpful you would do well to keep your insults to yourself.
16. Gaza in state of chaos, yet some want to restore Hamas power
Anat ,   Haderah, Israel   (03.06.10)
and to enable it on its way to extract more Jewish lives, to advance the annihilation of Israel. Never Again!!!
17. Andrew, I'd like to take my remark back.
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.06.10)
You modern British confuse me as much as I was confused in 1962 while witnessing a bunch of Brits chuckling over the cartoonist, Giles. So sorry for defining your nation as "masters of irony". And those television series called "Chef" and "Yes, Minister" and "Yes, Prime Minister" were written and performed by pseudo Brits. Right? Probably originated in Australia or Canada or some other distant part of the (former) British Empire. I know, my attempt at irony is poor. Please forgive me; I was born and brought up in the U. S. of A.
18. Evil is not the natural condition
Harvey ,   London   (03.06.10)
Mankind is not naturally preconditioned to evil and immorality. That said the human condition is subject to abnormalities which may be acted upon by the individual acting alone or in the collective ideology . Contemporary history illustrates this clearly .The rise of Nazi Germany and its mirror image Communist Russia were examples of absolute evil . The Nazis were to remain in power for some 12 years and while Communism lasted considerably longer it nevertheless went the same way as Nazism . By way of another example ,the Khymer Rouge murderous rule over Cambodia was always destined to come to an end . Saddam Hussein and Irak, the list of heinous murdering regimes is endless but as endless as they may be each and every one will see its inevitable and violent end. Thus it is with Hamas . In a short time Hamas will witness its own violent demise .It is even now subject to internal and external forces which will cut short its existence.Given the complexities and the myriad of Islamist entities vying to supercede it,it may well morph into something closer in kind to the Taliban but that will also be short lived . The human condition is ultimately predisposed towards morality and decency and as nature does not support a vacuum and is constantly acting to fill the void ,thus it is with evil as an aberration of the true human condition. Hamas is symptomatic of this effect. What we are witnessing is the act of an evil entity imploding on itself .The factions within are turning on eachother like rabid dogs . Thus it was and thus it will ever be. Unfortunately the innocent suffer under the tyranny of what must seem like an endless night.
19. My advice to Hamas-Release Shalit. You are destroying yoursel
Alan ,   SA   (03.06.10)
by continuing the madness. Its a matter of time till you are destroyed by your competition .Their progress is nourished by the unhappy Gazans situation . Gaza will remain under siege till he is released and you maintain a peaceful Strip.
20. #15..Andrew...sensitive are you?
Malone ,   Hfx   (03.06.10)
You admonished Robert #13 for missing the sarcasm from #1,and then turn around and miss his. ????
21. #7 Andrew
Hal ,   Usa   (03.06.10)
#4 didn't get your irony quip. I have to admit that as a quip it lacked the deeper meanjing of it's intent. Please Andrew, can you further explain, I am waiting with baited breath.
22. # 12 Nour
Hal ,   Usa   (03.06.10)
Nour, calling former PM Sharon a "vegetable" is as tactless as those that refer to former Warlord Arafat as kleptomaniacal pedophile. I'll thank you to keep this discussion free from tacky and witless comments. As far as Sharon's plan to demonstate the incapability of Palestinians in governing themselves, well even you Nour would have to admit that they do a much better job than an Ex PM of Israel in a coma.
23. #12 - Illegal squatters
William ,   Israel   (03.07.10)
Maybe Haniyeh didn't know that when he declared Hamas was so powerful they even caused "Israel to vacate Jewish land (in Gush Katif)" Or maybe he's more knowledgeable of history than you are. But you're both suckers for Arab propaganda if you think Hamas, and not bad Israeli politics, caused the Gaza withdraw.
24. to #12, Nour - Gaza is not under siege. It has a border with
Bat Zion ,   Centre, Israel   (03.07.10)
Egypt as well, which Israel does not control. Israel is in a state of war with Gaza - we will not open the border freely without an agreement that will assure us that Gazans will not enter Israel to make suicide attacks on our busses and cafes - which was the cause for the closure in the first place. Egypt is not an enemy of Gaza, on the contray - why don't poor Gazan families seek their help? Why only seek Israel's?
