1. Why doesn't it state that the homes are illegally built?
Shiran ,   IL   (03.06.10)
These are building that are built without the approval of the country. There are thousands of illegal buildings in the area that must be demolished.
2. Just imagine
Arie ,   BaGolan   (03.06.10)
Had that been part of a Hamas or Fatah run area, the demonstrators would have been shot with UN approval!
3. 'Evacuation' of Arab families?
David ,   Shilo Israel   (03.06.10)
I love the full stupidity of political correctness. Jews are almost forbidden to use the word 'eviction' when talking about the disengagement. "Evacuation' is the polically correct term. So naturally, once embarked upon such a course, the word 'evacuation' now replaces 'eviction' under all circumstances. It's like replacing the term 'Beware of manhole' or 'men at work' with 'beware of personhole'...whoops did someone just fall in the hole because it took too long to read? So now we have Arabs being 'evacuated' which roughly means being sent out of their homes in face of advancing danger. 'Surrendering' is also another interpretation, however I guess that won't get past the politically correct censors who didn't surrender Gush Katif, or any where else...right? They certainly wouldn't want to give the impression of Arabs surrending their homes in Israel! So happy readers...are we going to now see landlords evacuating non- paying tenants from their homes as well?
4. #1 Because Israel doesn't grant Arabs permits, Genius
Nour ,   Palestine   (03.06.10)
5. Aren't they cute in their white sheets
Ilan ,   Ariel   (03.06.10)
They are not protesting the eviction of non-paying tenants but against the presence of Jewish families in the area. G-d forbid they Jews should return to territory that was already made clean and judenrein.
6. what really happened
debbie ,   israel   (03.06.10)
9/11 was definitely a in side job. Bush got his saudi buddies to supply the terrorists and the rest as they say is history.
7. Israeli 'journalism' at its 'finest'
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (03.06.10)
A very funny thing about this story. 3,000 protesters against evictions show up and are given 3 paragraphs. While 'dozens' of counter-protesters (24, 36, 54???) arrive and their views account for more than twice the number of paragraphs. The protesters are designated as 'leftists' while the counter-protesters are described as 'haredi' and their 'leaders are quoted as members of the National Union party protesting free speech by the so-called 'leftists'. I think that you might want to hire some new editors at YNet, those who can present a story fairly without allowing their right-wing bias to become too evident.
8. Free country vs. Dictatorship
Daniel   (03.06.10)
An arab can live in Israel, USA or UK. A jew or a christian cannot live in an arab country or territory. In the long term they are expelled or killed. Any political agreement should accept jewish, christian , budhist or any other religious presence in the west bank.
9. This land is legally registered as belonging to Jews
Leah ,   Israel   (03.06.10)
The court has ordered to remove the Arab squatters. If this were not Israel, nobody in the entire world would give a darn about some illegal squatters being kicked off someone else's lawfully owned property.
10. I consider myself a progressive but I am also a democrat and
Dror ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (03.06.10)
as such I respect the legal system in my country, Israel, the one that has reached a decision, after all appeals, that the houses occupied by the Arabs were not theirs and the property should have reverted to the lawful owners. These demonstrations are meant to circumvent Israel's legal system, considered one of the best in the world, and I, being a democrat can't accept it.
11. #10: Are you still a democrat when lawful owners are Pals?
Alitar ,   Paldora   (03.06.10)
What about all those illegal outpost and where the Palestinians are the lawful owners and settlers occupying them illegally by Israel's own laws. I think you confused the word democrat with hypocrite.
12. #9 real estate property recorded in a log book called bible?
observer   (03.06.10)
13. Mr Observer
(03.07.10)
I do not know what is written in the book called the bible, but The indisputable Koran itself writes that Israel is given to the Jews.
14. How to heal thyself -self-hating Jew
Hen   (03.07.10)
Good counsellors who can teach you about mindfulness, self-respect, boundaries are available in your area, see your health provider's reference guide under psychology/psychiatry
15. We Are In WW4
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (03.07.10)
There are an awful lot of protests going in Israel, for such a small country. It smacks of something more dangerous, an instability of a nation. Yes, the pressures are enormous..but, anarchy is what we are seeing now from many quarters. In Calif, when protests get out of hand (see UofC), Sheriffs and police step in with arrests. Okay, allow protest in Israel but contained and restricted. Gets out of hand, send in the police (and army). Use tasers, mace, rubber bullets..or, IF NEEDED, more lethal weaponry. Arrest them...both Jews and Arabs, including leaders if there. No deals, no early out. Prosecute them..(no release for Shalit). This has been building since 2nd Intifada..(3rd always threatened IF, ..the 2nd never ended. Hitler wasn't stopped in 33 or 38 (Crystal Night). 70m people died. Ahmad, Assad, Hez/Hamas/Goldstone types---must be thwarted. We are at war guys. Fight it. (Read WW4 by Norman Podhoretz).
16. So 3,000 leftists protest the law
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.07.10)
Big deal. The leftists claim to support the rule of law only when it is used against Jews. If the courts rule against the Arabs, they protest. The Arabs have no legal claim to any land west of the Jordan. Deport them back to their own country.
17. #6, Debbie, What are you smoking? . . .
Stewart ,   U.S.A.   (03.07.10)
9/11 definitely an inside job??? Really, based on what -- some whacky conspiracy theory? Believe me, if we wanted to invade Iraq, we didn't need 9/11 for an excuse. Besides, where's all the oil we were suppose to get? We still pay for it and havn't been able to get any where enough from Iraq. We still have to buy oil from Iran. No, I don't think we needed to go through all the trouble of pulling off 9/11 if all we needed was more oil, we just could have paid more for it.
18. Jerusalem
alan ,   texas   (03.07.10)
Jerusalem is the undivided Capital of the Jews. The koran does'nt even mention Jerusalem. Since 1948 when Israel declared Jerusalem its capital. suddenly the arabs wanted it. Time to rub their faces in the dirt.
19. Where Was Their Protest Over Jews Forced to Leave Gush Katif
emanon ,   USA   (03.07.10)
20. Was Beinish there?
(03.07.10)
what about the other leftist supreme court judges?
21. The Left needs to be Investigation
rALPH lEVY ,   usa   (03.07.10)
The left needs to be investigated for foreign influence. Take a look at this Fox News Video that includes a financial receipt to Peace Now Why would the US consulate in Jerusalem have a financial receipt to peace now? http://video.foxnews.com/v/3922630
22. #9, #12, #13: Relax folks, bible is not a land deed
Reality Check   (03.07.10)
and God is not a real estate (double) agent. We are talking about religion and beliefs and that isn't recognized anywhere as a right to the land. What is recognized are international agreements, in particular UN vote that provided Israel a mandate to have their state and land, excluding the occupied territories.
23. racists protest Jewish presence.
Golan ,   modiin   (03.07.10)
how racist and hypocritical to protest Jewish presence in Israel and not protest Arab presence in Tel Aviv or Beer sheva or Hebron.
24. Civil war is just around the corner
Avi ,   Israel   (03.07.10)
Israel is heading for a civil war. The far right and the ultra orthadox are by far the biggest threat to peace and democracy we are facing today. The left will join the arabs as we are united in the fact that we are all victims of the fascist right wing religious parties and i for one cant wait to end this so called notion of halacha state once and for all. Israel will not become a jewish version of Iran with a load of fantaics forcing their so called life style on non belivers. They want war then bring it on ! We will join our arab brothers and rise with them against the ultra orthadox the true enemy of the state.
25. #13
Hal ,   Usa   (03.07.10)
Many Muslims are not Arabic literate or Arabs. Reciting from memory is a widespread practice. Without any real statistics to go by, I wonder how many Muslims learn about the Quran from those with an agenda that slants or purposely misleads adherants into bigotry. I recently saw a news story on how the Taleban recruit young illiterate men and teach them to recite the Quran from memory. Every time the young man shown in the news story made a mistake, he was slapped hard to the head by the imam. Being fair, fundamentalist Christians and more fringe churches engage in flawed interpretation of the bible to promote an agenda. In my humble opinion, religion is such an emotional practice that using it to promote anything other than man's/woman's understanding of his/her place in the world and how to behave in a humane manner is a recipe for violence and disaster. Politics and bigotry are definately not nor should be part of the equation. Regardless of faith.
26. to 10 - legal doesn't mean ethical -slavery used to be legal
jim ,   DC   (03.07.10)
People have the right to protest a legal ruling. REGARDLESS. However in this case Arabs who have papers for land or houses pre 1948 CANNOT use them to get their houses BUT Jews who do are allowed to use their documents. IN A TRUE democracy this should not happen. I support non violent protest against racist policies.
27. I saw photeg of the rally there were barely
ghostq   (03.07.10)
hundrets of lefties, and 90% were Arabs. this title isn't accurate at all.
28. to #4 that's cause they got no deeds on their houses
ghostq   (03.07.10)
most of them invaded those houses in 1948, the original habitats currently live in the refugees camps. mainy in jenin. so stop protecting those who stole your houses, yep your own arab brothers.
29. to #22 actually it is when it's writen on archyological
ghostq   (03.07.10)

30. to #13 actually in the koran it's writen
ghostq   (03.07.10)
that Jahud were there in jerusalem, in the koran the full name of Jerusalem is EL-Aqsa El- Jahud, you just assume others can't read Arabic and translate it. but people did, so stop disrupt your own religioun for your political gain.
