...stupid proud. That's didn't make Turkey a great and respectable country in the past.
3. #1 Its israel who needs turkey...
Hakan ,   Istanbul-Turkey   (03.08.10)
Why?because with out turkish water, you guys would go thirsty. Who cares if you come to turkey for holidays or not. There are far more European tourists in turkey and they seem to enjoy their stay a lot. We don't need your blood stained money. Go spend it somewhere else.

your a fool. who wishes earthquakes on little children and old people you need god in your life.
5. Dear Turkish brothers, pay close attention
Saul ,   Ramat Gan   (03.08.10)
You are not brainwashed lunatics. Does this government really suit your needs? Do you actually believe that abandoning the American-Israeli-European link in favor of the Iranian-Syrian-Lebanese serves your interests? I want to believe you are more enlightened and progressive than that.
6. #1 - Why surprised? Jews always value life
William ,   Israel   (03.08.10)
We offered assistance even to Iran indirectly when they were hit with massive quakes in Qom and Tehran. We just have the technology and experience to save lives, and regardless of religion or politics, that is our goal. In this case it is the thought that counts. We cannot force the Arabs to value lives over their hatred of Israel. That is to their disadvantage, but they've never had an issue with sacrificing their own citizens for political agendas.
7. Be careful of what you wish for
Monia B. ,   England   (03.08.10)
Any disaster is terrible. Barbara in Israel why would you ever wish something so awful on anyone. You sound very bitter and sad. Be careful of what you wish for.
8. E.R.D.O.G.A.N
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (03.08.10)
E.R.D.O.G.A.N. = Earthquake, Received ,Deserved ,oddly ,G-d given,Apt, Nihilistic.
9. Iran should replace Israel in earthquaqe aid.
Nora Tel Aviv   (03.08.10)
Turkey has a "Brother" now. What more normal than Ahmadinejad helping Erdogan?
10. This is not a big earthquake
Adam ,   Istanbul   (03.08.10)
Israelis - don't overreact to this story that wants to create a problem. The truth is this was a small earthquake in an area of Turkey where there is no big city and we don't need help to deal with it. There isn't any insult to Israel.
11. #1 Israeli kindness - my foot
Shareef ,   London   (03.08.10)
We always knew you only send earthquake assistance as some kind of emotional blackmail. By wishing more earthquakes just because your help is refused just reiterates the selfish nature of the assistance that was being offered.
12. Fine. No need to offer help to those who don't want it.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (03.08.10)
Israel's relationship with Turkey is not as it once was. It's therefore foolish to act as if it was, as Barak was as he instructed "to put together an aid proposal for Turkey" before Turkey asked for such aid. A simple condolence call with a suggestion he "let us know if we can be of assistance" should have sufficed. That way you're not insulted when they reject your offer of aid. And besides, does Barak have not enough to do that he's looking to take on aid duties as well?
13. #10 is right
Lisa   (03.08.10)
I would not take this as a rejection. Turkey has earthquakes all the time- and isn't it time they learned to look after their own people? Have their own emergency measures and rescue teams? It is time certain countries learn to fend for themselves instead of depending on foreign aid. Israel should save its resources for people who want it, appreciate it and need it.
14. #10 not a big earthquake
Jacob ,   Munich   (03.08.10)
about 60 people dead, rubble all over. Your comment is ridiculous.
15. #6 Earthquake in Tehran???
Arash ,   Tehran-Iran   (03.08.10)
Are you serious?? Tehran has had no earthquake in the last 100 years or so. Apart from the days of the shah(may his name be cursed eternally) which you had friendly relations with, there was no earthquake in iran that needed israeli aid. Nice try though, next time you should try to use something which is historically correct. Earthquakes in Tehran.LOL

1. So far Israel is not getting the Manavgat water and it is surviving very well without it. 2. Yest there are many European Tourists in Turkey but then why did the Turkish government sent a comity to Israel a few weeks ago begging for Israeli tourists? 3. Your PM Erdogan welcomed Sudan's Omar Al Bashir, accused for Genocide in his country, two times to Turkey last year.Be careful when you talk about blood stained money. In history there is no other country that has spilled as much blood as the Ottoman Turks. Iyi geceler; hosca kal
17. Adam (or is it Adem) from Istanbul
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (03.08.10)
For us Jews even 1 dead is one too many. In Elazig the death toll of 51 (as I last read in Hurriyet) is way too many innocent lives. As someone else also here mentioned, Israel had even offered Iran help when earthquake hit them. It is just a humanitarian thing that Israel does even if people in places like Turkey criticizes it by spreading lies like (Israeli help team was harvesting organs etc) . On the other hand I am glad that Turkey seems to manage this one on its own. After all those poor villagers who were hit and lost most in Elazig are peasants who live day to day for a cup of milk, a few olives and a loaf of FRANCOLA bread. I have no doubt in my mind that tey do not care who helps them in this ordeal as long as they can soon get a roof on top of their heads and their modest SINI is filed with enough olives and bread for their children.
18. Shareef from London
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (03.08.10)
Your name sounds either Arabic or at least Muslim maybe from Pakistan. My question to you is this: Since Turkey is a Muslim brother country to Arabs and other Islamic countries, where are those oil Rich Saudis when Turkey is hit with such a disaster? At least make an offer right? But there is never one. With the exception of Morocco and Turkey None of the Islamic countries offered any assistance to Haiti also. I wonder why? The Turkish saying asks Will you take all that (OIL) money to your grave?
19. earthquake and aid
alexi   (03.08.10)
Barak did the proper thing and offered basburg aid for earthquake victims. While he would be willing to take aid from a friend. He is in no position right now to lead. Erdogan has the upper hand and has revealed his hand by saying that israel has no connection to the cave of the patriarchs. To him, Greeks are to blame for cyprus and air plane harrassement, armenians died as a result of civil war, europe is elitist and antiturk, israel is wrong on everything, and the arabs are peaceful wonderful followers of mohammed. Erdogan, you have trouble, go to iran, sudan and jordan for help. Good luck.
20. #3 Turkey
Joe ,   Germany   (03.08.10)
The only turkey Israel needs is a baked turkey for holidays. So, please shut up.
21. why did you do that? no way should an offer have been extend

22. DEAR TURKISH PRESIDENT,
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (03.08.10)
Sir, just keep denying the ancient G-d given rights of the jews to their heritage sites, and expect more of the same (earthquakes I mean.) "HE WHO BLESSES YOU WILL BE BLESSED ,HE WHO CURSES YOU I WILL CURSE ." Book of Genesis.
23. 14 -
Adam ,   Istanbul   (03.08.10)
The earthquake hit a Eastern Anatolian village of where few hundreds people live and the news in Turkey is reporting already that the rescue operation is now finished. There isn't any need for people from other countries to come when there isn't anyone there to rescue. Earthquakes like this are small by Turkish events, there was one 10 years ago that we took help from Israel that destroyed all a city and killed 20,000 people. It's not the same.
24. TURKEY IS AN ENEMY TO ISRAEL !!!.

Boycott Turkey
26. Turkey
Eyal ,   USA   (03.08.10)
They reject our aid, even though they need assistance. I wonder what people in Turkey would say when you could have saved a few people, but you rejected to save? suit yourself ERDOGAN, you ignorant bastard, you will go down in Turkey history as the most pathetic leader ever, but then again you are Muslim. hehehehe
27. ANOTHER HUMILIATION
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (03.08.10)
The proper course of action would have been for a private inquiry by Netanyahu whether Turkey wished for assistance. This public announcement looks like a publicity stunt and will be humiliating for Turkey following the humiliation of the Turkish ambassador.
28. They rejected other offers as well
David   (03.08.10)
This has got nothing to do with Israel. Maybe Turkey simply doesn't want or need help, regardless of the helper's nationality. Accept that.
29. please a wast of time
