31. What a sad, miserable and boring life they do lead
Talula ,   Israel   (03.10.10)
You don't have to be religious to uphold ANY values, especially family. They are constantly in the news for abusing and murdering their own flesh and blood - not sure what Family Values school they went to. I'm secular, I drink, smoke, don't keep Shabbat, don't keep kosher, and I don't like being in a serious relationship - doesn't mean I don't have high family values, I do. The holier than thou gaggle are off blowing their own trumpets while exhibiting their nornal judgemental behaviour. What a crock of crap!
32. Slanderers define selves moral, slander others
Anon   (03.10.10)
33. Incitement
K ,   Israel   (03.10.10)
What was the point of this article (and the survey, come to think of it)??? I can only imagine it was to incite against the religious. Great work Ynet ...
34. #1 occupying another nation? what is that mean?
israel   (03.10.10)
35. #26
Ben ,   Monroe USA   (03.10.10)
Once again you are more than willing to damn another for telling the truth. The religious are no more moral than any other group. The religious are no less moral than any other group. To blindly defend or damn is typical of those whose who refuse to understand that there are good and bad apples in each and every group.
36. Since the Torah defines morality,
elan ,   Netanya, Israel   (03.10.10)
any person keeping the commandments will necessarily be more moral.
37. Own up. As 1 non haredi to another, I can still admit that
Jon ,   Bakersfield US   (03.10.10)
the vast majority are more moral across the board. Less infedelity less murder less violence on innocents more tzedakah to the troubled to the orphans, widows, poor, etc Just be honest. Of course there are a minority this doesnt apply to. Thats like saying my tropicanas orange groves arent any better than the 3 orange trees in my yard. Thats lunacy. Do you you say NBA players arent betterin bball than you as well?
38. 35 , as always : you don't understand
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (03.10.10)
You can only attack Rabbanim , but understand something , NEVER .
39. #36 - Torah doesn't define morality
P ,   Philadelphia   (03.11.10)
At least, the Torah isn't the only work that provides its own notion of morality. There's a lot of faiths, people, and books that also define a morality. People within one moral system will usually call the others less (or not) moral - otherwise they'd presumably switch. Operating from a western secular morality, I can say that I too think that I have a better morality than expressed in Torah.
40. #38
Ben ,   Monroe USA   (03.11.10)
So now you have become a rabbi??? No, merely an egotistical fool such as you can deny facts. It's OK, enjoy yourself - you do know all the answers. Or so you believe.
41. Those who think this is idiodic are in fact idiots.
Michael ,   Toronto   (03.11.10)
By taking a look at the talkbacks you can see that seculars (and any group) would also have claimed they're morally superior. After all, if they thought they were less moral they would likely try leaving their group and joining one they considered more moral.
42. #33 - How is this slander? Is it a misquote?
dorothy friend ,   tel aviv, israel   (03.11.10)
Were the words not said? Quoting in the media is not slander if the quote is accurate. If you all are so paranoic that what you say will get out, well don't say it!
43. to 40
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (03.11.10)
Try to read correctly . You know to what i refer by "attacking Rabbanim" . Rabbanim is plural . By writing "foolish" you again showed your very low level , under all allowed one for normal people
44. You're not more Moral, you're more Self-Righteous
Esther ,   Ofarim   (03.11.10)
Your sector has the same problems as the secular sector. The difference is that you try to cover up and hide your problems.
45. More Stupid
zichron   (03.12.10)
The religious may be more able to control the evil impulse as long as they do not weild power. The haredim are hopeless without the protection of the secular arms industry and the religious are too rigid. Israel needs Righteous Oppurtunists
46. Charles
Ben ,   Monroe USA   (03.12.10)
You do prove that you lack the ability to understand English. When one says quite clearly that there are bad apples in each and every group, and that no one group can claim to be the "true moral" ideal, it does not attack anyone. While I recognize that is too deep for your limited understanding of your native language. I hope a refresher course in English would be in the works for you. Since I doubt you will avail yourself of such an undertaking, I will repeat what I posted previously. THE RELIGIOUS ARE NO MORE MORAL OR IMMORAL THAN THOSE WHO ARE ATHEISTS.
47. To # 46 , short memory
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (03.13.10)
English is NOT my native tongue , but with your inexisting brains to difficult to remember it . Read my first TB to # 1 , i only said him that we are mostly NOT talking about the charidim . I never said that the religious are more , or less , moral than others . Again your IMAGINATION and BAD understanding of English . I prefer to talk to smart people , category you don't belong to . Better shut up , you already ridiculised yourself more than enough .
48. Charles, DDT
Ben ,   Monroe USA   (03.13.10)
You deny your own words; but call others stupid for pointing out your stupidity. Go hide under the rock you crawled out from under. It is quite obvious that there are quite a few others who find you to be an objectionable fool who speaks out of both sides of his mouth. Is it possible you enjoy being so asinine?
49. Morality yes but also bigger sinners
Josh   (03.14.10)
Is being a hypocrite moral? The biggest sin of Torah is to recognize other gods before our G-d. To do such brings curses which include war and death to our nation's families. Although the religious are striving to be good, folly has put them in a dead heat with the most vile secular on the heavenly scoreboard of sins. If one listens to the Rabbis as unquestionable leaders, you violate Dev 13. You are required to doubt them and not fear them if they are clearly wrong. If you light candles and then lie in G-d's face saying he commanded it, is that better or worse than saying nothing at all? For Pesach G-d commanded us to eat with girded loins, in a hurry (unleavened bread) and with walking stick in hand, but who will eat Pesach meals in a hurry recalling the rush of Mitzaim as commanded and who will provoke G-d with the longest meal in a lean back casual position? Who will put out a glass of wine for a ghost as a forbidden offering? Yes it is a religious opposite that is not coincidence but a failed test revealing hypocrites. Who will serve a sacrafice to apease the fathers USZPANIM on sukkot and appeal for a blessing as if they are gods? Sukkot requires you do this to G-d and none other. Who will kiss a Jainism object as protection when only G-d protects? Truly the relgious talk a good talk, but they walk the same as one who claims G-d doesn't exist. Who can say they love G-d when they don;t think and don;t listen to his instructions? With no love for G-d, these are clearly "choose death" sinners. Try some truth for a change. Morality is man made morays and Torah is from G-d. Choose life and go with Torah and G-d
50. Pure chauvinism
Smith ,   TA, Israel   (03.14.10)
51. 48 , LIAR ! , tell me WHERE i said something
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (03.15.10)
that i denied afterwards . You will NOT find any such things , because you are a LIAR .
52. 49 promotes Torah , what an hypocrite !
Charles ,   Petachj Tikva   (03.15.10)
He does NOT observe Shabbat ! The only thing he does is always attacking the Rabbanim . No wonder for a jesus adorer guy .
