1. This man is a hero...god bless him
Manuel ,   Venezuela   (03.10.10)
Freedom of speech is an international right and I dont care what you muslims have to say... this will only get bigger and better and become more widespread.. I've begun drawing pictures of mohammed as a 3 headed snake.
2. For over 60 years
Canadian ,   Tel-Aviv   (03.10.10)
Muslims have drawn cartoons depicting Christians and Jews in a negative light. No one has tried to murder them. Their radicalism is the root of all major conflicts in the world today.
3. Pictures of Mohammed
Jackie ,   Florida   (03.10.10)
Actually there are pictures of Mohammed in old books and scrolls, but it seems there is a modern Islamic movement to issue fatahs against any artist daring to portray him, either in print or drawings.
4. muslim reality
real vision ,   usa   (03.10.10)
just the fact that islamic inspired violence occurs daily all over the planet and even a cartoon will set off a new round of violence is reason why the cartoons, commentary, etc on islam are SO TRUE. There are no lies about any of these cartoons. Islam and the koran equals violence. Islam has no toleration for other religions. Islam is the thorn in the side of mankind
5. Unashamed Silence
Yaron ,   USA   (03.10.10)
Where are all the bashers of Israel that are very quick to post here normally? The silence is deafening when it comes to Muslim totalitarianism but if Israel builds a house or protects its border ....the arm chair critics come out of the woodwork. Observer, lydia from Brisbane, Nour, and the rest of you....your silence on this subject is confounding and we would like to hear your moral prognostication of this issue.
6. That woman is a convert to Islam and gone mad after Quran
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (03.10.10)
as anyone who reads it does.
7. External and internal conflicts are the lifeblood of Muslims
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (03.10.10)
Conflict in the Muslim world is not seen as a problem that requires a peaceful solution. The enemy of Islam is not the West or Israel so much as modernism and the humiliation that accrues when millions are nursed by fantasies, hypocrisies, and conspiracies to explain away their own failures. Quite simply, any society that shuns freedom of speech, does not believe in democracy enough to institute it, shuns female intellectual contributions, allows polygamy, insists on patriarchy, institutionalizes religious persecution, ignores family planning, expects endemic corruption, tolerates honor killings, sees no need to vote, and defines knowledge as mastery of the Quran...is deeply pathological.
8. Malamo, hahaha sweet finally swedes r
ghostq   (03.10.10)
doing the right thing since the violant riots in Malamo got out of control who got the biggest Muslim population in sweden.
9. double standard
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (03.10.10)
if muslims say jews are the sons of pigs and apes, why can't mohammed be a dog? sounds kinda tame compared with the islamic rhetoric. anyway, they're the ones that debased the conversation, and they should expect it in return.
10. cartoons
Brit ,   uk   (03.10.10)
Danes, Swedes : you should never make fun of someone's faith - whatever.
11. #10 Why don't you tell that to the arabs and their media
rachel ,   usa   (03.10.10)
12. I Thought Swedes Only Supported 9th Cent. Murderers!
David H ,   Marietta USA   (03.10.10)
Oh well, last year, I had to go out and buy every Danish product I could find to support of them. Now I first have to go and find lingonberry jam and make Swedish pancakes. I'm sure the Swedish radicals will rescind their support soon enough. Sweden is not exactly known to support Jewish causes, certainly not when they can be economically blackmailed by muslims.
13. muhammad? faith? they just don't mix
henry   (03.10.10)
# 10 ) when you talk faith, you talk about god. Theirs is a sect bent on conquer & destroy. We went thru this before. Enough is enough.
14. lol more more more mohamed cartoon
smith   (03.10.10)

15. Number 5
Libneniyyeh ,   Canada   (03.10.10)
62:6 (Asad) Say: "O you who follow the Jewish faith! [5] If you claim that you [alone] are close to God, to the exclusion of all other people, then you should be longing for death - if what you say is true!" [6] 62:7 (Asad) But never will they long for it, because [they are aware] of what their hands have wrought in this world; [7] and God has full knowledge of evildoers.
16. #5 the shame is ....
rob ,   Orangevale USA   (03.10.10)
That we will have to hear from these haters of Israel ever again. I do get alot of laughs at Nours drivel and Observer is obviously blind. The truth is, that even these hard core anti Semites cant come up with anything resembling logic when it comes to the behavior of their brethren. Or most likely, they are glued to their media outlet just drooling over the possibility of violence against those responsible for the so-called "slight". Either way, I wont miss their low brow babble and it's a nice day outside in California. Shalom.
17. #10
Marilyn ,   USA   (03.10.10)
This is not really considered in regards to Christianity. It's like people want artistic expression and we cannot tell people how they have to view Jesus. It is in many ways personal. However we can dispute things if we think expression has taken a wrong turn, or if done for less than honorable reasons, such as money. Also can dispute if people are like really off track in regards to their conclusions. Something like violence is not allowed. This is the typical understanding, in which people do have a voice and one can express oneself within reason.
18. I think this...
ZS ,   USA   (03.10.10)
..will be a good moment of learning and comparison. Muslims must ask themselves: If someone in Sweden or any other European country created a cartoon that was derogatory toward Jewish holy things, would he have to worry about his life being threatened, by, I don't know...a gang of rabbi's ? If a newspaper printed a derogatory racist cartoon about Jews, it would be harshly condemned and criticized...but the writers of the cartoon would not have to worry about their own personal safety, or worry about being imprisoned...for this action they may be criticized, shunned, boycotted, fired from their job, derided, rebuked... But no physical harm would be allowed to come to them, and they would not have to fear imprisonment by authorities. But on the other hand, Muslims will say "Why is it illegal to deny the Holocaust in some European countries?" What if someone insisted that the Earth was flat...? Would someone think he was stupid, or would someone try to throw him in jail for his wrong-headed beliefs? (In the US we do not have this law banning statements that deny things) No one should have to worry about being locked up for their statements or cartoons, unless they are incitements to violence.
19. All this talk... makes me smile
Anon ,   Johannesburg   (03.10.10)
all i want to see is these funny cartoons. anybody know where i can download them?
20. 75 yerars ago the Eurotrash had the Jews to beat up
Al   (03.10.10)
today its the ones they once loved , the ARABS. Good luck with that one. I wish all the Eurotrash a Finstereh Karporah on them all. AS af as those Jews who wish to remain in Eurotrashland ..You've been warned..Its time to leave..
21. #6. Quran is rather primitive and boring reading
Yon ,   Israel   (03.10.10)
but somewhat sinister and inciting book. I really wonder if a cultured person could be interesting in reading it, except historians, ethnographers, etc. If you would like to get mad try better Dostoyevsky or at least Ynet news.
22. #16 Shalom Shalom
Yaron ,   USA   (03.10.10)
Completely agree word for word....it is just absolutely amazing to me that in this age of information that these folks can be that ignorant. Shalom to you from the sunny Jersey shore.
23. I bet Aftonbladet cowards wouldn't dare publishing this
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (03.10.10)
With all their hyperbole about their right to freedom of expression, they are brave when it comes to publishing admittedly unproven allegations about Jews stealing Muslim body parts, but they don't have the courage to make a truthful publication about that Mohammad dog, because Muslims threaten them and they will have to live under armed protection for the rest of their lives.
24. #10 Flippin ek mate! If it looks like a dog, barks like 1&

Intedi Nensak ,   Stockholm, Sweden   (03.10.10)
You're right, sort of. Aftonbladet declined to publish the mohammed-dog this time. They have published it before though.
27. No, they didn't #26

28. No, they didn't #26

"Yrsa Stenius is originally from Helsinki, Finland, from the country's Swedish-speaking minority. She has been associated with Aftonbladet since 1979, and was even their political editor-in-chief in the mid-80s, and was a columnist for them as late as 2007. In 2006, she severely criticized the publishing of the Muhammad cartoons by newspaper Jyllands-Posten in Denmark as hateful misuse of free speech. When it was announced in 2007 that she would become press Ombudsman, the conservative blogger Dick Erixon, one of Sweden's most famous political bloggers, wrote the post "A press Ombudsman against free speech," where he quoted her criticism of the Muhammad cartoons, which she made while working as a columnist for the newspaper Aftonbladet". Yaron ,   USA   (03.11.10)
30. #3 some do, some do not
Nils ,   sweden   (03.11.10)
The funny thing is, the Iranians are totally ok with Mohammed hanging on the wall, or atleast they used to be. But back when the danes published their stuff/artistic offerings, well, they - like Iran always seem to do - jumped on the bandwagoon and pulled all Mohammed images from the shelves. (They actually sold them in stores).
