1. The Arab League is intoxicated as ever...
Nour ,   Palestine   (03.10.10)
Don't worry about them, everything that comes out of their mouths is hot air. Palestine doesn't need them, and Abbas' original strategy "to let the Arabs decide" has failed, because it's the continuation of a failed policy since 1948. Enough with the silliness and recognize the One State solution as the only politically viable exit out of this impasse!
2. Get ahold of this.
TJ ,   SA/USA   (03.10.10)
If its true what Israel says that the timing wasnt meant to embarras the USA and Arabs and if they mean that this wasnt planned then it must be an act from GOD because GOD doesnt want Israel to give up their land. GOD may have stepped in this time.
3. ISRAEL ISNT A MEMBER OF THE ARAB LEAGUE
zionist forever   (03.10.10)
They are in no position to demand anything from Israel. As for the palestinians if they choose to talk despite Israels building in Jerusalem thats their decision. I know that the Saudis want to be involved in governing Jerusalem which is another of Obamas bright ideas if Israel is stupid enough but until further notice its our capital alone to decide what to do with. Time to tell the Arab League to go to hell this is an issue between Israel & the palestinians not the Arab League, not Europe, US or UN just the 2 parties concerned. Leave it to us and we can work out a solution thats satisfactory to both not an American or arab solution.
4. What else is new? Palestinians say yes and then decide they
EST ,   Miami USA   (03.11.10)
meant no; apologize and then decry it was a mistake and taken out of context - no apology, they claim to want to talk peace and then say ...mmmmmmm not yet and maybe not ever. Nothing new in their game playing.
5. another lost arab generation, keep building Jerusalem
ralph   (03.11.10)
6. That's the way to go
Sagi   (03.11.10)
no talks, keep it up Abbas. We build and progress, you destroy and regress.
7. moussa and abbas
alexi   (03.11.10)
Moussa is a buffoon who acted like a clown bowing to erdogan when he berated peres for killing gazans on the beach. he can go and jump inthe nile. However, while I usually think fatah is full of it, in this case, abbas does have a point. Abbas is resuming negotiations and our fool yishai, the josef grubber who maintained olmert in power while he sold out israel, opens his big mouth and announces housing construction in east Jerusalme. His whole gang has to be in the idf, all of them including yishai if he has not already done so. Israel should not announce anything in what it builds. The PLO is a weak thread and is vulnerable. Give abbas some time and he'll come back. Bibi should keep his eyes open down the road, not right now for future partners.
8. The muslims goal is the destructio of Israel !
Jaacov Baumann   (03.11.10)
All the socalled peace-talks , all the ongoing troubles the muslims make in and around Israel have one common goal : the destruction of the state of Israel ! There is no room for wishful thinking ! Israel : Be strong and courageous - the almighty God will never forsake you as people do !
9. Biden seems to be already operating on the presumption that
Harry Wright ,   UK   (03.11.10)
Jerusalem is to be divided. Israel is being forced to divide its capital even before any agreement is reached. This US policy is ridiculous. The US has no moral authority to force a state to give up part of its capital to a people who does not even recognize its right to exist. The fact of the matter is that the whole of Jerusalem belongs to Israel and nobody should be telling Jews where they can and cannot live in their own land. The US, a self-appointed arbiter, is demanding that Israel negotiate away its historic treasure and capital and is predetermining Israel's behavior in anticipation of the give away. By what right and authority? They should facilitate not dictate. Let them give back Hawaii and Puerto Rico to the natives.
10. You are on your own
Jose ,   CA, USA   (03.11.10)
Peace is not going to happen unless the US wants it. The Israeli's and the Americans are comfortable with the status quo. It looks like the Palestinians are on their own. Good luck.
11. Arab league/PA trying to steal traditionaly Jewish Jerusalem
David ,   BOston, USA   (03.11.10)
After arabs ethnically cleansed E Jerusalem of its native Jews they object to Jews moving home. Arab/Muslim world needs to respect Jewish holy land for their to be peace. Its not a one sided thing. No more dhimmis. Eurabia and US should be supporting Israel in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel. Stop supporting Arab/Muslim racism against Jews in jerusalem
12. #1, Nour, Jordan is Arab Palestine
David ,   Boston, usA   (03.11.10)
You are correct, there already is an arab Palestinian state on almost 80% of the land, no need to create another. Redraw the border through Judea and Samaria., 2 states, Israel and Jordan Palestine. Start looking to Amman Palestine and forget about Ramallah.
13. One thing the US and Iran agree on...
Graham ,   Ireland   (03.11.10)
..and Britian and Argentina agree on, and North and South Korea agree on, and that every country from Russia to Peru to Cuba to Kenya agree on...is that the Israeli presence in East Jerusalem is an occupation and its settlements there are illegal. That's why the embassies are in Tel Aviv. The ONLY people who can give legitimacy to Israel's presence in Jerusalem or elsewhere outside the Green Line are the Palistinians. Without their blessing continued occupation by Israel will continue to rot, poison and degrade both Israel's soul and its reputation in the world. The word 'Israel' is already synonomous in the world with brutality, subjugation and intransigence like that we have just witnessed. Meanwhile, if these Talkbacks are anything to go by, many Israeli's themselves have become distant from truth, basic human decency and indeed, their own history. David Ben- Gurion once said "The State of Israel will not be tried by its riches, army or techniques, but by its moral image and human values." On that basis the experiment that has been Israel has become an unmitigated failure. The Arab League is right to stand up to it.
14. Once again it is demonstrated: The Arab Israeli conflict is
Eitan ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (03.11.10)
just that, and the local Arabs amount to a component of it, no more and no less. Tiny Israel, David, is facing the Muslim-Arab world, Goliath, that actually dictates for war or peace. This has been the case in 1948, in 1967 and in 1973 during which wars coalition of Muslim-Arab states initiated wars of annihilation against the Jewish state. And today, the coalition that is forming for the same purpose is Iran-Hizballah-IslamicJihad-Hamas-Syria whose members keep calling for the annihilation of the Jewish state.
15. Finally good news
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.11.10)
We don't need to waste our time or energy on another set of agreements that the Arabs will violate the same day that they sign them. Now is the time to end the freeze and build another 100,000 homes for our people.
16. There is nothing to talk about
Dov ,   USA   (03.11.10)
17. It is none of Jew Hater Moussa's business
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (03.11.10)
Arab League needs to decide if Israel's Arabs are Arabs, and take all of them to Arab countries, or they are not and leave it to Israel to deal with them appropriately, as they deserve according to their deeds
18. Re settle Jewish neighborhoods in E Jerusalem
GZLives   (03.11.10)
19. Pals committed to 2 states PLUS massive ROR into Israel
Sam ,   Canada   (03.11.10)
Palestinians are absolutely committed to 2 states if BOTH of them are Palestinian. If Israel refuses that, then Palestinians will demand ONE Palestinian state over the same territory (Israel+West Bank). This is the peace plan Arabs are trying to fool the world with. They demand a state for Palestinians with no acceptance of a Jewish state If violence and terror is the only Arab alternative they will be the losers for it.
20. Arab League saves Israel from deadly negotiations.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.11.10)
Once again, Israel is being saved by our enemies. The goal of negotiations between Israel and the PA was to create a new terror state in the heart of Israel. If such an abomination was ever created, Israel would not last another decade. It would be the Gaza retreat disaster times 1,000. Israel needed to say "No" to this disaster but Bibi failed to do so. Luckily the Arab League did it for us. However, we can't count on our enemies to save us forever. Israel must have leaders with the guts to say "NO" to the monstrous Two State Final Solution once and for all.
21. Weren't indirect talks meant to avoid Jerusalem controversy?
Matt C ,   Canada   (03.11.10)
I was under the impression that the purpose of indirect talks was so the Arabs could save face and talk to Israel despite the lack of a freeze in Jerusalem, which they demanded in addition to the unprecedented freeze elsewhere. Yet now they seem to be backing out of talks anyway, even though indirect talks were supposed to solve all this. This, combined with the new and unprecedented demands the Palestinians keep coming up with (before they will even talk with Israel about peace!), reinforces my impression that they don't want a sustainable peace deal to begin with, that they are simply waiting for demographic and political changes to happen elsewhere in the world that they think will eventually enable them to gain a total victory. What Israel needs then, is not another pointless round of begging the Palestinians for a peace deal, but to teach the rest of the world about the sustained aggression Israel faces.
22. fine. with
Barney ,   USA   (03.11.10)
the current arab mentality, there is really nothing to talk about anyway. Israel, strong and secure, build the land as you were meant to do.
23. Let them pull out
Brod ,   USA   (03.11.10)
There is nothing to talk about. Why should they be encouraged to usurp Israel's liberated historic homeland of Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem? These Islamist-Jihadists should learn to live peacefully in the Land of Israel and respect Israel's Law if they want to live there. If not, they should move to their own country in Jordan. No matter what the external pressures are due to the Taqiyya (deceit) and manipulations of the Islamist-Jihadist and AntiSemite world, Israel must remain united, resolute and strong in defending its GOD-GIVEN and GOD-RESTORED Land of Israel from being usurped and attacked by the dark forces-the world of AntiSemites and and Islamist-Jihadists. Never waver against these challenges. GOD did not give and restore the Land of Israel to the Jews for them to give any part of it to the Pagans!
24. good. another arab generation lost. lets keep building jerus
ralph   (03.11.10)
25. Very well. Let them stay retarded and
Vardina   (03.11.10)
undeveloped as they are. Israel could make them flourish, but we help friends, not enemies. Anti Israeli Arabs staying in Israel should be given a one way ticket out of our country.
26. Arabs do not want to negotiate with us? I am
Vardina   (03.11.10)
deeply impressed and grateful. We we will be better off not negotiating with them. US threatens with sanctions? We have survived the Holocaust. Some financial pressure by the USA will not drive us tinto committing suicide by giving up our national security in return for false so called "peace" with those whose openly declared policy means the "Final Solution" for the Jewish state.
27. Arabs play a game of "chicken" with israel, all the while
(03.11.10)
the Palestinians suffer. Israel has NO problem what so ever with the status quo, and the arabs act as if they have the upper hand and the option to refuse talks. fine, see how it goes. Proud to the death. of other people.
28. Palestinians won't be entering indirect talks with Israel
moon ,   earth   (03.11.10)
no? ok. it's not like you're doing us a favor ;-) to palestinians: stay where you are, and stay away from jerusalem.
29. US demands a State like Iran on the West Bank/Gaza! True or
Bruce Stein ,   Chicago US   (03.11.10)
? Why: The US (government, not people) policy in Iran: Keep the dictators (that parade as religious) at all cost (same policy since Carter "stabbed the Shaw in the back in 1979)! Why? "nice Long lasting War and sell lots of weapons" (c 1991 Getty delivered to every member of congress on this war and the battle tactics to be used against us) The "don’t ask don’t tell" going away is the way the “Government” tells you: "can you believe it, can you believe it" will be followed immediately by the "DRAFT"; no exemptions except practicing clergy this time boys and girls! Obumer!
30. talks
colin   (03.11.10)
