31. Seizing the opportunity to miss an opportunity
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (03.11.10)
This calls for immediate discussion! The Palestinians are simply adhering to their well known policy of never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Stay tuned and come back in the year 2110 to see if anything has changed. I doubt it...
32. you mean piece talks ?
Marcel ,   Florida   (03.11.10)
because it's sure not about peace with the Arab league and the Palestinian's. Everyone but Israel's knows it's about dismanteling Israel by way of tHe land for jihad and rockets agenda of the US. Whenever they want to squeeze more out of Israel they threaten or walk away from the farce talks
33. "...Palestine doesn't need them..."
Eitan ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (03.11.10)
"Palestine" as an independent state has never been in existence. Indeed, UN Security Council Resolution 242 which is the very basis for all peace talks and agreements since 1978 have been based on 242. "Palestine", in this resolution is not even mentioned nor is there the call to set up an additional state in the region. Implicit in 242 is the call for Jordan to take over most of the so-called West Bank - while the rest remains in Israel's hands - and for Egypt to take over the Gaza Strip. The Arabs of these territories may then incorporate themselves into the political life of these two Arab states respectively.
34. Good. The Arabs Are Not Serious Anyway.
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (03.11.10)
As long as they babble on about the nonsensical and mythical "two-states" it is better not to talk with them. Come back when you mature.
35. Clearly, this is an Arab Israeli conflict, not Palestinian
Tamar Harel ,   Petah Tiqvah, Israel   (03.11.10)
Israeli conflict. Maybe when people begin to realize it they will start to appreciate Israel's very real need to ensure its security in defending the national home of the Jewish people in the face of a whole Arab world that if it had an opportunity the Arab and Muslim world would attempt again to wipe Israel off the map.
36. abbas pulls out of 'talks.......
tiki ,   belgium   (03.11.10)
He never went in!
37. Victory
Paul ,   Jerusalem Israel   (03.11.10)
Israel after 3500 years should know that they can never achieve any benefit, relying on the non-Jewish twisted version of what is considered a settlement. Thank G-d for the 1600 settlements, even if a political mistake, saved Jews again from the pressure to die, and give up our soul to Arabs.
38. This is not the suitable response,Abu Mazen
Salma ,   Palestine   (03.11.10)
Resign immediately and dissolve the funny Palestinian Authority then concentrate on rebuilding the spirit of the PLO Are you ready to pay the price? Unfortunately, I doubt
39. #14 No!, it was solely on Abbas' request
observer   (03.11.10)
Abbas should not go on with talk; The Us has promised to blame who is responsible for failure of negotiation. The Arab league gave Abbas the green line; Abbas is no more under pressure to unfold his previous decision to not go talk till complete settlement freeze. That has been indirect without preconditions talk which they advised. Israel ruined everything. It's the golden opportunity for Abbas.

Nour A single state is the only long term VIABLE solution that would work for the palestinians & its probably what every government in the world OUTSIDE ISRAEL would like to see as the solution. Israel jewish majority though will never go along with it and as long as its unacceptable to Israel its unacceptable to any of the big western powers whose support the palestinians would need. In the US especially just proposing the idea as the solution could cost you the election which is why politicians never talk about anything but 2 states. Israel will continue to be viable with the 78% of British mandate Palestine it had between 1949 - 1967 but the palestinians for them a state in that remaining 22% will never be viable in the long term. Shortage of land about 6000km .. Israel inside the green line is about 4 times that size and still tiny. Growing population which will probably include hundreds of thousands of Israeli arabs who will be offloaded onto the palestinian state. The palestinians in camps in Lebanon & Syria. Lack of recources including not enough water, certainly if they want any kind of agriculture buisnes A state in 2 parts which would need some kind of corridor Israel would have the right to close anytime. Israel would for a long time after independence control its airspace. No military to defend itself or military industries. After 5 - 10 years of having to deal with the problems of running a REAL state with all the problems that come with it not a virtual one. No more UNRWA, the west will stop giving huge cash handouts like are given now & the western government will forget all about the palestinians. Their individual supporters in the west will start to drift away as they look for a new cause to support now there is a palestinian state. The arabs are also going to stop giving huge cash handouts because the reality is nobody cares about the palestinians not even their arab brothers who pretend to love them so much right now. As Israel will never accept a single binational state the only truly viable solution for the palestinians is to accept Jordan as their state.
41.  Abbas pulls out !
DT ,   TA Israel   (03.11.10)
Best news I have had all year ! It was a charade anyhow
42. Palestinians pull out of talks!
Spencer ,   Israel   (03.11.10)
Jerusalem never has and nor will it be negotiable. It's ISREAL'S capital and has been for 1000's of years... before Islam ever existed. If the Arabs want to talk about peace , they must accept this as a fact. If not, let them go to hell!
43. #14,35 whom US going to blame for talk failure; Israel or PA
observer   (03.11.10)
I'll answer that; the one who created new issues, preconditions.
44. Gathering Storm Clouds
Rodney Dezarn ,   Fayetteville, USA   (03.11.10)
A great storm is coming, war is in the air, the carelessness of the West in dealing with Tehran has emboldened the many enemies of Israel. The time is coming soon when a great coalition will gather together to seek to destroy the Jewish State. When this coalition is complete and they seek to fulfill their plans, the fury of G-d will be poured out upon them and they will perish in the mountains of Israel in the Plain of Bashan. Not for the sake of Israel will the G-d of creation do this, yet for the sake of His Holy Name that is profaned among the nations.
45. Palestinians pull from talks
DIS ,   RAMAT-POLEG, ISRAEL   (03.11.10)
BY NOT SEATING DOWN AND TALKING TO ISRAEL, THE PALESTINANS ARE ONLY GIVING ISRAEL A GREEN LIGHT TO DO ANYTHING, THEY WANT TO DO. IF THE PALS. REALLY WANT PACE THEY MUST BE READY TO TALK. BY TALKING YOU UNDERSTAND AND YOU CAN FIND THE WAY TO AN AGREEMENT. WITHOUT TALKS YOU WILL LOSE ANY CHANCE OF BEING PART OF THE GREATER JERUSALEM.
46. POOR OBAMA
zionist forever   (03.11.10)
HIs legacy is starting to go down the toilet if he can't even get his beloved palestinians to agree to talk. His first year was when he was at his peak but in terms of ability to get things done its down hill from now on. The midterms are coming shortly so its going to be hard to put pressure on Israel. If the Democrats loose alot of seats as expected its going to make life even harder for him. After that he probably has about 6-9 months before he goes into lame duck stage because he will be in an election year. There are more pro Israel voters in the US than pro palestinians even if the president is in love with the palestinains. The man might have been awarded a Nobel Peace Prize but peace is a long way off.
47. #1 Nour
Hal ,   Usa   (03.13.10)
Why Nour, are you coming around to the reasonable understanding of the history of this conflict. I must admit Nour coming from you It is stunning indeed. You are correct that it is hot air coming from the mouths of the League of Intolerant Gentlemen" also known as the Arab League. Since 1948 Nour, these idiots have led your people down the rabbit hole of false promises and outright manipulation for their narrow purposes. From the onset of the war against the UN sanctioned state of Israel by the five confrontation states to the founding of the PLO, you've been used as a political football and suffered greatly at their nefarious hands. What's more Nour, They aren't done with you yet. The sooner your people chart their own course and stop looking to those you consider your Arab brothers to come to your aid, the sooner a real peace can be negotiated as a two state solution incorporating Jordan as part of the original Palestine Mandate for Palestinians that was denied to you by your Arab brothers and your own larcenous leaders that have stolen your aid money and lined their pockets, built villas and made the wife of Yasser Arafat a princess living in Paris at the expense of people that have denied themselves much in return.
