1. Can Israel do anything good
I just love this findings, if Israel wants to repair any item be it the collapsing ramp to the Temple Mount, or to maintain the structural viability to the Kever Racheal, or to the Maorot Hamchpela that is condemned, this world is becoming an are just as is commonly referred to as the idiots of Chelem

3. US Report Ignores Saudi Arabia
No Synagogues or Churches allowed in Saudi Arabia and the hypocrites in the US government have the audacity to speak about Israel.

4. Aren't most mosques, churches under local jurisdiction?
I believe under the law of religious protection, mosques were given to the Waqf to over-see and funds for community places of worship are through local taxes with some help from the State funds for religious sites.
It is true that Jewish sites are given more attention, that's because we care about maintaining them in the one place we can be Jewish without obstacles.
Go ask the Arab localities where all the money is going for religious sites and ask the Waqf why they are doing nothing for the upkeep.
The only time I have ever seen a concerted effort by Muslims over a religious site was when they were trying to steal the Plaza of the Ascension in Nazareth away from Christians - which, by the way, Netanyahu stopped immediately and protected it for Christians. This didn't seem to make it into the report, though.

5. And how much does the US do for mosques and churches?
Exactly what does the US do to protect anybody's houses of worship?
The fact is absolutely nothing at all.

6. Hogwash!
First of all, the report is sheer and utter nonsense.
Secondly, in light of the fact that Israel has not destroyed a single mosque or church since the inception of the modern state, the report is pretty nervy.
I don't recall the U.S. State Department issuing protests over the burning of synagogues in the Arab and Moslem world at any time, ever (the Jordanians alone demolished over 50 in Jerusalem in 1948). Nor do I recall any U.S. State Department protest issued over the burning of synagogues in Europe at any time, ever -- even when those burnings included most of the Jewish residents of the towns in which they were located.
So, put simply -- the U.S. Department of State can shove it.

The Hassan Bek Mosque was rebuilt in Tel Aviv. Many churches were rebuilt in Nazareth.
I think the report is incorrect.

8. Marcel #3 is stunningly wrong
The report says of Saudi Arabia, "no right to change the government peacefully; disappearances; torture and physical abuse; poor prison and detention center conditions; arbitrary arrest and incommunicado detention; denial of public trials and lack of due process in the judicial system; political prisoners; restrictions on civil liberties such as freedoms of speech (including the Internet), assembly, association, movement, and severe restrictions on religious freedom; and corruption and lack of government transparency. Violence against women, violations of the rights of children, and discrimination on the basis of gender, religion, sect, and ethnicity were common. The employment sponsorship system limited the rights of foreign workers and remained a severe problem." Learn how to use Google, Marcel.

9. a blessing for israel
this report, which is probably true, contains really mild criticism of holy sites in israel, but shows that the state department is completely on israel's side with regard to the goldstone report (as they should be -- the goldstone report is a joke written by a group who were so consumed by hatred that they believed all their own propaganda, and signed by an ambitious jew who only wanted to please everybody else and work his way up the latter of international organizations -- at any cost, even the truth). this is huge -- it shows that even with the most left wing administration led by the son of a former muslim with the middle name 'hussein', america's ties with israel are strong. it discredits the goldstone report and shows that israel has a good and fair friend in the united states. israel should respond to this report constructively. yes, it is nothing compared to saudi arabia, but are we trying to compare ourselves to saudi arabia or a free, enlightened democracy? this is good news.

10. Mosques and Churches are run privately not by the goverment.
so how can you neglect them? Most churches are looked after and protected by main line church dominations who fund themselves.
Mosques? How can they be neglected????

11. THIS IS A HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUE?
The US seems to have something to criticize Israel about over every little issue.
I hope that in the next report they will have something to say about the garbage I saw on the streets today.
Empty bottles of water, ciggaterte butts .. I hope the US will have something to say about that because we all want clean streets.
This report is supposed to be a human rights survey but what exactly does claims of neglect of muslim & christian sites and investment in jewish holy sites have to do with human rights?
The Galilee isn't even a holy site christians choose to make pilgrimages there.
What does property development in the area have to do with the US or anybody else outside Israel?
Goldstone they say is full of lies & factual mistakes but they do consider it a human rights issue if Israel doesn't invest enough in mosques & churches or allows development around the shores of the Galilee.
What exactly do the US define as a human right
Who appoints the people to carry out this survey, is there any chance that it could be politicized ?
This sounds like just the sort of trouble making you would expect from Obama.

12. Jordan I mean Palestine bans jewish religious articles
Jordan which we theoretically have a peace treaty with not only ban jews buying property or having citizenship a tourist is not allowed to bring into the country with them a sidur or tefilin for personal prayer.
The State Department & all their concern of religion seem to have looked over that little fact.
The arabs can do no wrong but Israel can never do anything right.
When Ahmadinejad said Israel is the worlds most hated state sadly he was probably right.

13. US IGNORES Muslim Desecration & Vandalism of Holy Sites!
In their war against G-D, Muslims regularly attack Jewish holy sites.
Joseph is the greatly loved Bible hero of Jews and Christians. Jewish Joseph is the most wonderful role model how one should live life! Hero Joseph's Tomb was viciously attacked by Muslim mobs with pickaxes, set on fire and several IDF soldiers guarding this sacred place were killed by Muslims.
At the Temple Mount, Muslims vandalize and destroyed precious and unique Temple Mount remains - we have all been stolen from by the Muslims!
Muslims throw rocks, including large cinder blocks, at Jews from the Temple Mount - desecrating the holiest place on earth with violence.
Blaspheming G-D, Muslim mosques on the Temple Mount call for jihad - the deliberate breaking of G-D's Holy Law:
YOU SHALL NOT MURDER
In a massive victory for Islam, Israel's Arab Christians were forcibly placed under the brutal occupation of PLO/Palestinian Authority.
In the filthy Islamic Invasion of Church of Nativity, Muslims tore up BIBLES for toilet paper. Christian majority towns, Bethlehem & Nazareth are now majority Muslim - terrified Christians were driven out by cruel Islamic persecution. Many Bethlehem Christians' homes and land were stolen by Muslims. The Christians who remain, live in constant fear.
FREEDOM NOW FOR NON-MUSLIMS!
US/EU/UN are silent about the suffering and terrible persecution of Jews, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and other non-Muslims, by Islam.
Muslim violence against Buddhists in Thailand's southern provinces has now claimed more than 3,500 lives. (Daily Star-Beirut-12/7/2009)

14. The Human rights of US Government
This US government Department
has a damned cheek blaming Israel
for not including Christian & Moslem
sites to the Israel Heritage Sites.
Has one Christian clergyman or
anyone in the Administration ever
mentioned or perhaps done anything
about the slaughter of Christians in
Nigeria last week ? Because the
Administration loves the Muslims,
(after all, Obama is one) therefore
it is OK to bash Israel for whatever
reason, but heaven forbid don't
ever say anything about the vile
slaughter of Christians by Muslims.

15. US State Dept. report forgot to mention the local
Muslims and Christians do not want Jews involved in the "protection" of their local religious sites ... the Jewish State respects the wishes of those communities and allows them to take care of their religious sites. Indeed, the State of Israel, has more Jewish sites of worship to protect...it is a, DUHHH!, no brainer that you will have more Jewish religious sites in the only JEWISH state of the world!
If the people who wrote the report would have gone to the Sea of Galilee then they would have seen Christian pilgrimage sites in as good condition as Jewish religious sites...I go there every year and many times take my Christian friends on tours for them to visit their holy sites. They even have a beautiful modern church atop of a hill, it was built to commemorate John Paul II's visit to Israel!!!
