1. Build them an Island off the coast of New Zealand
Talula ,   Israel   (03.14.10)
The further away from here, the better.
2. Scandalous....
Liz   (03.14.10)
... and what is even more scandalous is that only one person has commented on this so far. This should create a national outcry, and should be front page news. People bought houses/land in Harish when it was established knowing that it would grow in a certain way, and would have a certain population....to change the orientation of the yishuv now is just not fair and against all rules of decency. Just like the haredi public would be against extending Kiryat Sefer or Betar Illit to accommodate x1000 secular families, the secular families in Harish do not want their home to be expanded to accommodate 1000s of haredi families. What is being done to stop this?

Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (03.14.10)
In the Katzir/Ka'adan case the Israel High Court ruled that it is illegal to stop anyone from living in a Jewish village, even if the populace is not interested.
4. # 3
Liz   (03.14.10)
Notwithstanding the nature of the population influx, the yishuv Harish was supposed to be SMALL and certainly no-one that spent their hard-earned savings on a house there expected to wake up xxx years later and find another 150,000 neighbors..
5. #3 Here's the thing...
Talula ,   Israel   (03.14.10)
When those Haredi move in, they will start demanding and rioting and burning tires if their secular neighbours dare to even breath on Shabbat. Why should an entire town be held to ransom because those nasty demented Hareim simply cannot live and let live?
6. Building Shas-istan
Avi ,   Israel   (03.14.10)
More housing for the ultra orhthadox, a town based on rascim. Will secular people be allowed to live there, how about arabs, gay couples or ashkenazim ? Once again the fanatical minority dictates to the majority.
7. A Small Point
Mike   (03.14.10)
150,000 people doesn't sound like a small minority.
8. After they build the city and the hara-dim
jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.14.10)
move in, give it to the palis. They have a lot in common.
9. What, a Jewish town in Isreal, what a scandal?
Esward Weber ,   Brooklyn, NY   (01.16.11)
When will the world let Jews be Jews?
