1. Fenenbock is 100% correct. HAMMER OBAMA HARD!
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.16.10)
Fenenbock has admirably summed up the threat Israel faces from the contemptible Obama administration. One of the most failing administrations in American history. You'd have to back in time atleast to the time of self admitted buffoon President Warren Harding to find a similarly ineffective president. However, Obama makes even Harding look good in many ways. Obama plans to build a political legancy by hammering Israel. It is all he has. Our response should be, as Fenenbock notes, HAMMER OBAMA HARD! The Democrats are already scared Obama is going to decimate their party in the midterms. America's many millions of friends of Israel should make it clear to the Democrats to either abandon Obama's sick policies or face absolute electoral ruin.
2. Obama is a Muslim and a Kenyan, not an American.
JMK ,   NYC   (03.16.10)
Both Axelrod and Emmanuel are intermarried. The fight must be to get this illegal alien deported back to Kenya or Indonesia where he actually does have citizenship. Why have all Obama's record been sealed. Why is his certificate of birth been whitewashed, when it is as clear as day a forgery, the number on the certificate is his sister and it was given to anyone who applied for it, it is not official. Coverup.
3. What do you suggest, Fenenbock?
William ,   Israel   (03.16.10)
I feel that you ended the article pre-maturely. If we are to take up the challenge here in Israel, exactly what would be your suggestions and what is the real challenge - to continue building in our sovereign homeland or to dislodge the Leftist Messiah in the White House?
4. November, 2010 elections less than 7 months away
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (03.16.10)
Recent polls show support for Israel at almost historic highs in the US (about 65%); support for the Palestinians is less than 20%.That support for Israel is consistently 20-30 percentage points higher among Republicans than among Democrats. In the aftermath of this latest blow-up, quite a few Republican leaders have criticized the administration for its treatment of Israel; almost no Democrats have raised their voices. Full disclosure: I'm a registered Independent, as an increasing portion of the electorate is, and have been for years. But I'll cheer when the Dems lose one or both houses in November.
5. we must be strong, firm, smart, shrewd, political and assert
ralph   (03.16.10)
our historical rights over racist obama and the pals.
6. Barack H. Obama
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (03.16.10)
"Stupid is as stupid does." - Forrest Gump It looks as if Barack H. is stupid. Or why should he else continue his leftist politics which are not only a catastrophe for the USA, but also for him and the Democrats in the upcoming elections?
7. Glen Beck was right! he said last week that the jews would
be the scapegoats!   (03.16.10)
go Israel dont pay any attention to hussein obama the kenyan born muslim trojan horse in our White House! We will soon get rid of him before he destroys America and Israel!
8. We should recall our ambassador to Washington
jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.16.10)
We should sever ties with the obama gang till he feels it in the polls and comes to us asking forgiveness..It will never happen. Next Nov should see a new majority in the Congress and even the little chicago street thug should be able to read the writing on the wall. The two state solution should be killed off. Tell the people of the U.S. we refuse to be destroyed by a moslim president and his anti Zionist administration. Jerusalem is our Jewish capitol and will never be divided again. All Jewish religious sites are Jewish alone and not connected to islam. Let them steal religious sites of others. Again I want to know why there are no Rabbis who will excommunicate emmanuel and axelrod? They are vicious anti Zionists. Is there no Rabbinical council with guts in the U.S.? And all streams of Judaism should stand united in this. Next May, the both Chief Rabbis of Israel should issue a ban against emmanuel's son being Bar Mitzvahed at the Western Wall. His father wants to give our most sacred site to the moslims and he wants the Bar Mitzvah there. Have it in mecca instead or gaza. No member of this administration should be welcomed here and the P.M. has to shut peres up. No one voted for the dictator in the President's office and he should keep out of politics. He caused enough death and destruction to Israel as is. Time for the Jews of the U.S. to realize that they committed a grave error voting and supporting obama. No need for them to sacrifice another six million Jews just to vote for the dems.
9. Chain of Fools
ABY ,   Ontario Canada   (03.16.10)
I take the time to regularly read the English websites of Israel's major dailies. Lately I have become increasingly offended and shocked by the racist, insulting and slanderous opinions you print in your talk back sections about America and its president. While it might give the blowhards and the crazies a place to vent their frustration it does nothing to resolve problems. It only throws gasoline on the fire. If your readers' comments were published as a public service every day in the L.A. Times, the Washington Post, and the New York Times, and they should be, American support for the state of Israel would be about as much as it supports the government of Cuba. These blood libels aimed at the President will come back to haunt you. America needs Israel to survive. So stop acting like ignorant fools. The time will come your leaders will call the White House for urgent help and you will be asked to leave your message on the answering machine. Israel is the author of its own problems.
10. We should take the chalange
Eyal ,   USA   (03.16.10)
It's called Russian roulette, but I think Obama has more to lose…let me tell you why: 1. If Natanyahu caves to Obama, Natanyahu will lose credibility in Israel and will lose the elections. This is why he won't cave. 2. But let's assume Natanyahu caves to Obama and starts negotiating with the Palestinians on the so called 2 state solution, Obama will fail, cause the peace process is not going to work. Ehude Barak gave 96% of the post 67 war in 2000 and the Pals declined it. You think Natanyahu will give what Ehud Barak gave in 2000? Answer is no, thereby wiping any hope for the 2 state solution. 3. If Hussain Obama caves to Israel, he will gain some sort of support from the Dems, but not enough, cause he already damaged his credibility, as well as the Health Care problem. 4. If Hussain Obama doesn't cave and continues the charade with Israel, he will lose the elections, as well as lose any support from the American people with regards to the Health Care.
11. Obama vs Natanyahu

marcel   (03.16.10)
bibi has to hold firm. Obama is pro arab. He is not a coward nor is he stupid like bcarter or bush were. Howerver he is a moslem trained youth who is proarab which is his right. Israel will end up in the uni state of palestine unless hard real negotiations take place and arabs are realistic which they are not. So israel, dig in. And tell oren,t he weakling to shut up and stop being so nervous like haber.
14. you want a one-state solution?
michael ,   sao paulo   (03.16.10)
This means you want a one-state solution? With apartheid or with an Arab majority?
15. Response to OP ED
Eugene Graczyk ,   Sausalito, CA USA   (03.16.10)
Mr. Fenenbock completely misreads the Obama administration's policy regarding Israel. The anomaly here was the unlimited, unquestioning acquiesence of the Bush regime to whatever Israel and its American lobby wanted. Israel must understand the level to which their own policies have diminished support for Israel among American Jews and among non-Jewish Americans. If Israel is an ally, then it should act like one and not egregiously act in an arrogant and shortsighted manner for every short-term domestic political gain. Mr. Obama's current political woes have more to do with the seriousness of the economic concerns and political partisanship (aparently shared by Mr. Fenenbock) than with a lack of confidence in his abilities. Israel's stature worldwide is itself at an all time low and heading south each day. If Israel finds itself friendless inthe world in the near future, Mr. Fenenbock and his supporters will share the blame, not Obama.
16. Hammer the Jews
j. bergman ,   brooklyn ny.   (03.16.10)
Amen. In my humble opinion Obama and his administrations lost the opportunity for really advancing the peace.
17. What's the alternative?
J ,   New York, USA   (03.16.10)
So, if a two-state solution is being rammed down Israel's throat by the administration (never mind previous administrations who've supported it), what's the alternative? Wait for palestinians to demand citizenship and voting rights within Israel? Two-states is well within Israel's best interest.
18. Israel & America allies
Dominic the 1st ,   pittsburgh USA   (03.16.10)
America has but 2 real friends in peace and in war ,besides Great Britain and it is Israel
19. Are you people serious
StevieT ,   USA   (03.16.10)
Attacking the Pres. of the US is a losing proposition - period. I even see Glenn Beck 'the prophet' being quoted as an ally. How can you sink this low? The man is a lunatic. Israel MUST understand that their failure in diplomacy has been monumental and that good foreign relations are their best chance for a secure future. Cool the rhetoric or you will reap more trouble than you thought possible. This advice comes with hope, love and good wishes to the Israeli people.
20. ANOTHER GREAT Ynet article.
Raymond ,   USA   (03.16.10)
Fenenbock has it right. I live in a condo. the residents are almost 100% non Jews. The Volvos, Saabs Mercedes, and Toyotas FORMERLY (many) had Obama or "Women For Obama" bunper stickers. Now???NARY A ONE.There is a groundswell across all demographics of dislike for Obama ,the Obami< and therir programs. The anti -Israel bashing will not help this failing President.
21. Obama decrees the third Palestinian intifada.

"racist, insulting and slanderous opinions" - Racist? Can you please elucidate and give one example of a 'racist' comment made here against Obama, by an Israeli? I doubt you'd find such example. People here don't have an issue with Obama's skin color, they have issues with his policies. And personally, one of my favorite American politicians is Senator Alan Keyes, an African American, which I'm sure would make an excellent president. So drop the race card. If anything, your own KKK and similar white supremacists use it much more often. As for "insulting and slanderous" opinions from Israelis - again, you throw up a generic accusation into the air with no evidence to back it up. And you know what? Yes, people here are rightfully upset with Obama, on the way he scolds Israel. You may disagree, but you can't force others to your opinions. This is called freedom of speech. And how about we'd go over to some American discussion boards, and check out what they write about Israel and its leaders? And I'm not just talking Stormfront, but perfectly ordinary mainstream forums. If these are considered freedom of speech, then so is ynetnews. "blowhards and the crazies" - Are you calling me, and 90% of Israelis who disagree with you, blowhards and crazies? "These blood libels aimed at the President" - What blood libels? That he loathes Israel? That he panders to rogue Muslim dictators? That he shows no resolve in dealing with Iran's and North Korea's nukes? That he comes from a Muslim family, and his connection to Islam is much stronger than his connection to Christianity? These are not 'blood libels', these are well-documented observations, brought forth by many Americans, FYI. Besides, a 'blood libel' is meant to kill, while these are rather innocent. Furthermore, how conveniently you forget and forgive, all the much more horrific personal attacks that rained down on George W. Bush at the time, from many Americans as well as countless people from the entire world? Or were these attacks excusable, because you agreed with them? "America needs Israel to survive." - The opposite is more likely, but many contend that in a way, your sentence is true too... "you will be asked to leave your message on the answering machine" - Actually, that's kind of close to what we're already getting from the Administration right now.

24. To #9 Anti-Israeli vitriol in US talk-backs
Nahum Korda ,   Ein Ziwan, Israel   (03.16.10)
Sir, I happen to regularly read readers' comments to Israel-related articles in Washington Post, L.A. Times, N.Y. Times, Chicago Tribune… Everything I encountered in Ynet fades compared to the anti-Semitic vitriol that can be regularly found in the readers’ comments there. If we Israeli would judge about Americans from those comments, it would be the US government who would talk to an answering machine.

The talkbacks that you are referring too are mostly coming from the US respondents. Moreover similar talk backs can be found in the US press. Now, I don't believe, that if Israel is not willing, the White House can pressure it into concessions. Even if it was to cut the aid (which would be a political suicide for the US administration). The job of any government, including Israeli one (surprise!) is to look out for the best interest of their country. Israel does not want to concede land, which in light of the past half century history is a very rational move. I applaud Bibi for remaining firm on that matter. Now as far as the blood libels. I agree - calling Obama Muslim, Kenyan or whatever else is silly but the last few articles here and in WSJ clearly indicate the moral confusion (if not corruption) of the current US administration. You cannot in the same week apologize to Ghadaffi and blast Israel. It's not irrational - its insane. And I will not even comment on the words of Axelrod and Friedman - I am not sure how these type of people can sleep at night.

TO ABY, NO. 9 I take extreme offense at your outrageous claim that you find racist comments in the Jerusalem Post about Obama. This is a mean-hearted, false accusation, and you owe an apology to those you have offended. You don't live in Israel and know nothing about what goes on here, or what the opinions are here. I live in Israel, and I can claim with 100% certainty that the months leading up to the elections were filled with pride, hope and optimism about Obama, and the fact that such a seemingly charasmatic, intelligent man may become President. Following his election, the media and press spoke in absolutely glowing terms about him, and Israelis in general were ready to give him a chance, feeling that he was an intelligent, fair man. I am an American living in Israel who reads the Hebrew press, listen to all the tv stations, and go over the internet every day. There was never a racist comment, or any racist feeling voiced against Obama. I urge you to take back this false insulting statement.
