31. another example of the calamity caused
AY_Lamb ,   Globestan   (03.18.10)
by "Bush Doctrine" In the higher corridors of the US DoD they are crafting briefing slides and reports that resonate and intonate that Israel, like Iraq and Afghanistan, is controlled by a bunch of theocratic hegemonic despots that disrupt peace in the M.E. and therefore present a security to problem to the world and must be subdued. Make no mistake, regardless of the historic election in America; Bush functionaries were appointed and not elected plus President Obama seems to garner no inclination to remove them. They (the Bushites) continue to vituperate anything that is alien to their christian beliefs and they are vigorously planning global dominion via their martial apparatus. If Conservatives in Israel and Jewish Israelis love Bush and Crew so much they should convert to christianity and become part of the flock? Plans for the "Iraqification" of Israel are in full effect. the Latrun will be made into Abu Gharaib and those perfidious Jews will be made to kneel before a :tribunal" of the righteous.
32. Now the UN and Mr. Goldstone can file a complaint against
Rivkah   (03.18.10)
Israel for someone standing in the way of a Hamas rocket. It couldn't be the fault of Hamas firing the rocket since radical Muslims are blameless when attacking Israel and Jews. A bill should be sent to the man's relatives in Thailand for the cost of shrapnel that killed him like the Chinese send a bill to relatives of people they kill for the bullet. The UN is a communist front organization with a charter that is word for word the constitution of the old Soviet Union. America and Israel need to get out of the UN.
33. UNFAIR CRITICISM
Reuven ,   Petach Tikvah   (03.18.10)
Why is it that whenever there is a violent act perpetrated by the Palestinians or Hamas, particularly one that causes death or serious injury, foreign politicians, such as the EUs Baroness Ashton or the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon have to qualify their response by saying that they do not like to see violence on either side. When a British or American soldier is killed in Afghanistan we do not hear these same political individuals saying they do not like to see violence on either side. They roundly, and rightly, condemn the Taleban or Islamic extremists. Why does Israel have to be treated differently? A terrorist is a terrorist.
34. Unusual....
Jane ,   Czech Republic   (03.18.10)
Is something very stinking in this story: Timing - as first. 2) Nationaliy of that man. 3) He was only people in attacked area In Israel is high unemployment, hungry soldiers, hungry children, unemployed and old people, lack of money for teachers and another public services, poverty is growing. So, what the devil are doing Thai and other slaves in moshavs and other jewish enterprises? Why don´t work there poor and hungry Jews?
35. Your response, Nour, is brutal and only
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.18.10)
serves to condemn all Palestinian people. You'd think from your post that you've been brought up by Hamas sympathizers. What's wrong with you, Nour? As to the matter of "time", we Jews had been waiting over two thousand years. Do you think you can outlast us?
36. to #14 Yishai didn't kill anyone but you
ghostq   (03.18.10)
palis did. you won't take responsibility for Murder, than don't be surprise that Israel will retaliate in language you understand and that is violance. jews didn't disrupted the peace you did.
37. to #15 they r so blood thirst they don't really want peace
ghostq   (03.18.10)
peace is the lake of violance, something they intiate every time.
38. How many killed in Gaza & Qods
Tahrir Quds AlYahudi   (03.18.10)
ZERO ZERO
39. to #22 they also try to shoot the electricity station
ghostq   (03.18.10)
that provieds gaza with electricity cause it's zionist symbol, they r literaly cuting their own electricity. sound funny but that is what palis do. they missed 3 times.
40. Note to our American and European readers
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.18.10)
This is partially your fault. You funded the construction of this so-called harmless firecracker, it was most likely built in a UN facility that you funded, and the terrorists were most likely UN employees that you pay. You have incited the violence deliberately. You are aiding and abetting genocide and are accountable for the murder of another innocent civilian.
41. to #28 it's populated area with Israeli
ghostq   (03.18.10)
civilians, if Israelis can go there there is no reason y forigners wouldn't after all Israel doesn't limit movment of certain population especially when they new where they r going to work.
42. to #29 stop abusing glue,
ghostq   (03.18.10)
socialism got nothing to do with rockets.
43. Jane, Czech Republic
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.18.10)
Let's clear up one point you made: Foreign workers in Israel are not "slaves". They come to israel voluntarily, are compensated for their work and may leave whenever they wish to. As to why we have so many foreign workers, especially given all the poverty in Israel, I think you raise a good question. I do not have the answer, however.
44. very sad, but no surprise
acki   (03.18.10)
a very unfortunate and predictable situation. israel has given up on responding to all attacks and has done nothing to protect its borders for years. all israel does is puffery and blow up empty holes in the ground and blow up empty fields. only when you knockout the termites will this stop. israel no longer has the stomach to win.
45. #10 - as Israelis don't want peace either...
Gregg ,   Haifa, IL   (03.18.10)
46. What does Mrs Ashton have to say .... nothing!
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (03.18.10)
this is a travesty, after Cast Lead and the goldstone so-called report. Israel should have never left Gaza because this is what it will get everytime it makes a goodwill gesture to these monsters.
47. #45 - Israelis prove time and again they want peace
Chicago ,   Illinois, USA   (03.18.10)
They just aren't willing to commit suicide for it - though that would bring the Arab - Israeli conflict to an end; then the Hamas and the Fatah partisans could fight each other to the death, observing basic human rights as they did when they fought each other for control of Gaza. Go take a look at the offer Ohlmert made in 2008 and which the "moderate" Palestinian leader Abbas rejected out of hand. It didn't get much press because it didn't fit the international media's trope that Israel doesn't want peace and so they ignored it - to the detriment of Palestinians even more so than of Israelis.
48. souring region
Brian ,   Wandering   (03.18.10)
American and European interference in the middle east has soured relations between Jews and Non-Jews for thousands of years.
49. Catherine Ashton condemned the firing of the rocket
conspiracy theorist ,   Essex, UK   (03.18.10)
it was embarrassing for her that it was timed for her visit.
50. anybody notice how quiet it is .. no Obama statements
zionist forever   (03.18.10)
Israel plans to build houses, and gets a week of scorn and demanding concessions from Israel to make up for upsetting poor little Joe Biden. Palestinians have killed somebody with a rocket attack and we haven't heard a peep out of the president who loves the sound of his own voice. The reason Cast Lead didn't achieve its objectives in the end was because of 3 individuals. Barak, Livni & Olmert. During Cast Lead all the major parties had put their campaigns on hold as a kind of solidarity gesture. Likud were way ahead of Labour & Kadima in the polls and it was increasing. Solution despite the fact the army wanted an extra 1-2 weeks and had full support of George Bush so no US trouble making the trio decided to end the war without any prior conditions. No conditions of ceasefire, no finishing the job the army started and was doing a very good job in achieving the goals until for the sake of an election the trio ended it and ruined all the good work that was being done. Thats the woman who would like to be the next PM and the defense minister who also has ambitions on the premiership.
51. #28
eli ,   Jerusalem   (03.18.10)
No, against those who fire!
52. We should fight with the will to defeat the enemy.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (03.18.10)
US Congressman David Weldon (R., Florida), who visited Israel over three years ago, said Israel should strike back at Gaza in one fell swoop. “During World War II,” Weldon told the Makor Rishon newspaper, “the U.S. attacked Japan mercilessly. Despite the ethical problems, everyone now agrees that this caused Japan to surrender, thus saving many lives, including Japanese lives. This is the reason I think Israel should hit the Palestinians with one fell swoop, thus defeating them. Otherwise, this cruel situation of today will continue year after year, decade after decade.Just like parents have to protect their children,” Weldon said, “a state must protect its citizens, especially those who are threatened such as those in Sderot. If a country would attack the U.S., I would support turning that country into dust. If it’s right for the U.S., it’s right for Israel.” As described at : http://xrl.us/biz8x

zionist forever   (03.18.10)
There is a company in Sderot that makes sculptures out of the remains of these rockets. They should send one to Obama as a nice little gift to keep on his desk as a nice little reminder of what his terrorist allies like doing. The arabs are experts at using deaths to make propoganda. Pictures of dead terrorists plastered all over Al Jazeera. Maybe however distasteful Israel should use this guys image to send a message to Obama until you actually start doing something about your terrorist allies and not just blame Israel for everything and them for nothing then this death will not be the last.
54. #32 Rivkah...

Excellent comment. Couldn't have said it better myself !
55. nour is wrong
Marcel ,   Florida   (03.18.10)
Listen to what one of your own says about the problem with Palestinian's Musab Hassan Yousef ,Son of Hamas BBC Interview http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/2416.htm
56. Thank You for giving Bibi the Golden Opportunity
Umm El Kul Naqba   (03.18.10)
and his response will be enormous and on his terms at the best time for him. Bibi has responded to the rocket attacks even when their were no casualties. Now he has an excuse to attack anything he wants in Gaza and really put on the pressure. No place will be safe and the strikes will come when least expected. Ironically the foreign worker was doing a job that PALs once did before the exploitation of our kindness in giving them jobs. For this we suffered the Netanya Hotel Passover attack and the Hebrew University Cafeteria attack. Many people advertise that they won't hire PAL workers. The terrorism has cost the PALs their jobs, their freedom of movement, their access to goods, etc. Now is the time to tighten the noose until we are permanently rid of these foreign invaders who are a cancer to us. They openly declare there is no peace option and it is a War until one side totally vanquishes the other according to the HAMAS Charter. It that is the way they want it, LET IDF BE VICTORIOUS AND LETS BE RID OF HAMAS AND ALL THE TERRORISTS OF GAZA PERMANENTLY.
57. # 55 Marcel thank you
peter ,   amsterdam NL   (03.18.10)
I watched Musab Hassan Yousef on Amanpour on CNN but the style of questioning & the content of the questions were on a personal level, not so much on Islam in general. This interview with BBC Arab service is in the Arab language and the questions were focussed on islam itself. Strong stuff, indeed. I wonder if Al Jazeera, which is widely watched in the ME will do/has done an interview with him. That would reach millions of Arab viewers in their living rooms. Their reactions would be interesting, if not mostly predictable.
58. OBAMA HUSSEIN &LEFTIST EU(RABIA) ARE A BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES!
THEY ARE SILENT   (03.18.10)
THEY ARE SILENT WHEN ISRAEL IS ATTACKED!
59. To # 52
Jennie ,   NYC   (03.18.10)
Thank You Ron ! Yours was the best and smartest post, I have read in a very long time. I could sign under every word...I only wish, that Natanyahu would feel the same way. Unfortunately It looks that as of now -with E.Barak still calling the shuts, the current government too, is apeasing EU & US, instead of defending Israeli People.. There is something mistical/unexplainable about the fact, that Israel still wouldn't respond appropriately to an attack on their sovereignity. So many lessons were learned by endless land withdrawals, prisoners release, endless assisting of palis for nothing but acts of war in return. Rules of engagement must change....

Nour ,   Palestine فلسطين   (03.18.10)
It's unfortunate that a Thai worker was caught in the cross-fire. He WAS innocent and didnt deserve to die. Well, he seams to have ignored the rocket warning so he gambled with his own life and ultimately paid the price. Sad, but it was his choice to live/work in a war zone. That's right, 1.5 million people are under siege (1,000 days now) , the absolute majority of them unarmed civilians whose only fault is being Palestinian refugees eager to return to their homes inside present-day Israel. It was you who declared an all-out war on us and are ethnically cleansing us day after day. You take over our land, farms, expel us, demolish our homes, burn our mosques and crops, change our street names in Jerusalem, and generally treat us like animals. Well, how many people did Israel kill in Gaza and the West Bank since January 1st? Surprise! Nobody's heard of them in your media they are human aren't they? This is the crux of the matter, Zionism's refusal to acknowledge the local indigenous population right to exist! Palestine has the right to fight back and will not be erased off the map. As to the "Peace offers" made to us - how generous of you, but you know as as well as I do this is a lie. I dare you to pull out any file and go into specifics. Produce any evidence that Barak or any other prime minister offered anything serious to the PLO. Robert, when you hold someone down and attempt to choke him with a pillow, do you not expect them to fight back? The Palestinian people despite 100 years of war, and a destiny to be confront Zionism and its inherent racist implications, still stand proud and use whatever modest means to survive! And no I'm not talking about the aerosol rockets. I'm talking about building and solidyfing our institutions, you know the things that deepen our roots in this land since Canaan. Tell me Robert, isn't denying Palestinian Arabs the right to build in Al-Quds and simultaneous construction of Jew-only "neighborhoods" on occupied land, a form of terrorism besides being a breach of international law? Marcel, regarding Musab: It's quite interesting to see you emboldened by his account. You can read/view as many of his interviews as satisfies your apetite, it will not change my own people's perception of him: He is a coward, a traitor, and just the saddest victim of brainwash and deception. You would think he would take refuge in Switzerland, Denmark, or even the hypocritical US if fatigued from this conflict we were forced into but no - he chose Israel - the world-acclaimed war crimes champion. Look in the mirror people - You just might find the reason why that is the case. Peace will not come without painful compromises - you ready for them?
