That's so true. I remember my husband telling me there was a time when nobody even knew who the head of the Mossad was. Just search for crime statistics in the USA and the same for UK. |Statistics can be manipulated of course and what is considered an offence in the UK is not recorded as a crime in other countires and the same for the US so international comparisons are difficult. In other words choosing certain numbers could make one country seem more unsafe than another. But look at how many murders, rapes and violent robberies occured last year in the US. Then look at the UK figures. Then go and speak to your friend Jan! She may be in a great neighbourhood in the US, but if you want to compare countries you have to look at the whole. I in no way say that the US is an unsafe place to live, but to say that the UK is unsafe is not true and not supported by data!
