1. Peace or war
io ,   Canada   (03.25.10)
Israel is already at war with Syria, he should have say: it's war or war.
2. isn't it ironic!?
citizen ,   free world   (03.25.10)
"We don't hear the language of dictations. There are differences in the worldviews and its natural, but the dictation language no longer exists," he said. The dictator resents "dictatorial language."
3. Assad reflects the thinking of Islam
Brod ,   USA   (03.25.10)
The history of Islam is a river of blood. And Assad like his father has not learnt any lesson. In the next war, Israel will have to outperform the brilliance of 1967 not just to survive but to neutralize its enemies for good.
4. A message to Bashar!
Mina ,   Haifa, Israel   (03.25.10)
Bashar, you are a dictator, in a non-democratic country, heading a minority rulling over a majority that will eventully topple your regime and in the best case send you and your wife into exile. It seems as you have a very short memory, forgetting how Israel won every war your father unjustifiably started against us. Do not threaten us Bashar, we do not take notice of dictators who give interviews on TV stations run by anti-semitic terrosrits. Please concentrate on the serious problems that you have in your country, rather than try to divert attention from those, by starting another war that we will also win. Besides, why would Israel want any peace with you and your regime, which was handed down to you by your father, despite of the fact you were not elected for your role, needless to say qualified. Bashar, I dedicate this message to Eli Cohen, Avi Lanir and all other Israelis heores who were tortured and murdered by your father's regime. May their memories be blessed for ever. In the meantime we keep the Golan, your father started a war, we won, get over it!
5. Eye doctor thinks fighting Israel is like 1982 Hama Campaign
Alan ,   SA   (03.25.10)
6. War please... we'd love to add Damascus to the nation
Sane As You Are   (03.25.10)
7. another of Hussein Obama's pals
eddie ,   london UK   (03.25.10)
8. I guess he was too young to remember the beating
Eyal ,   USA   (03.25.10)
His father got. This is so funny and amazing at the same time. We need to take out all the enemies at the same war.
9. We must give the Syrians more time to develop their army
Ehud Barak ,   Jerusalem (now in DC   (03.25.10)
I just love to lose wars (like the last two in a row lost, ha ha what great fun). Now I am looking to just wait and wait and procrastinate, then lose the third war in a row. This is what motivates me - giving away land, losing wars, screwing over the lifeblood of the Israeli people.
10. Peace or War -Assad
DT ,   PhnomPemh Cambodia   (03.25.10)
It will happen anyway because of Assad so lets get on with it and put Syria back into an even darker age than it already is in and Hezbullah as well
11. Assad & Haman : Same spirit - same end !
Jaacov Baumann   (03.25.10)
Israel - dont be afraid ! Those who go against you will end like Haman ! The guardian of Israel never slumbers nor sleeps !
12. "Language of force." How many times have the Arabs attacked
Harry Wright ,   UK   (03.25.10)
Israel? And why are Islamic militants the ones killing off their own people? How many militants, over a hundred, were arrested in Saudi Arabia as reported today? The Arabs understand only the language of force. I guess it will be war because the Arabs cannot even live peacefully among themselves. I think we have all noticed that the hotbed of violence and force is the Middle East and that is spreading to the African continent, courtesy Islam. Was Assad's father not one who used the language of force against Israel? And is Assad not now threatening the language of force in this report?
13. Ok, so what are you trying to tell us here?
Peleg ,   San Ramon,CA   (03.25.10)
So what's your point?
14. Forget it!
David   (03.25.10)
The chinless ophthalmologist thinks he can be the king. After he gets a few rockets up his behind, he will change his tune. When the Alleviates lose their power in Syria, thanks to the "Religion of Peace," not a single one of them will remain alive. So go, threaten Israel and enjoy!
15. what an idiot- ill take war to finally shut you up
yonatan chaim ,   united states sadly   (03.25.10)
16. Oh yeah, war or peace
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.25.10)
Of course you do realize that Syria has not acquitted itself all that well against Israel. And Syria is not getting the Golan Heights back. Not ever. If they're lucky, they get to keep Aleppo. Methinks the good doctor needs to shut the hell up.
17. :: Al Wahsh Daddy slaughtered 37,000 in Hama, 1 million
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (03.25.10)
hungry made by Unelected Baby Al Wahsh, Syria fueled the Civil War in Lebanon where 250,000 died, initiated several wars against Israel and is hosting several terror groups on its soil. Baby Al Wahsh is in no position to talk about Peace.
18. Arabs would prefer it all handed to them on silver platter
Sam ,   Canada   (03.25.10)
Arabs would prefer that Jews just give up out of fear or that the West hand them Israel on a silver platter due Western fear of Arab terrorism or oil blackmail. If not, then war and terrorism is their only choice. That being the case, they should be threatened with being overthrown as Leiberman has done. That's the only thing these dictators care about.
19. What the hey is Assad talking about?
Agent 007.5 ,   USA   (03.25.10)
Since when has be made any genuine overtures toward true peace with Israel???
20. Brod, why do you wish for Israel's destruction?
Michael Hess ,   Charlotte, NC   (03.25.10)
Day after day you post here things that will only lead to the destruction of Israel. You apparently have no ability to even read a plain article about Syria's position. Assad said nothing about a "river of blood" that is simply more of your daily insane ranting. And Brod, I can assure you that cheerleading for Israel to "neutralize its enemies for good" does nothing to strengthen Israel or support for its actions. Quite the contrary and I think you know that as a closet terrorist sympathizer pretending to be a Israel supporter. Why not admit it? You do not support Israel in the least, your comments work against the pariah country on a daily basis. For shame Brod, for shame.
21. becarefull Assad you are about to bring this to past
psalms83 ,   SELAH   (03.25.10)
Isaiah 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
22. Chinless wonder is Obamas man
bernard ross ,   st anns bay jamaica   (03.25.10)
Israel should bomb his palace for funding terror.
23. And you are going to war over what???
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (03.25.10)
What exactly will your little war accomplish? A bigger ski slope in the Golan?
24. Either Assad's logic is to difficult for me to understand
leo ,   usa   (03.25.10)
or he really thinks everybody else is a fool: 'We are in a temporary situation which will either end in war or in peace. There is no other choice apart from these two.' Israel, he says, is an enemy which only understands the language of force". If Israel only understands language of force, which part will end in peace?
25. Syrian bluster. Hey Syria, stay out of the Iran war.
Daniel ,   Los Angeles, USA   (03.25.10)
This is the way to maintain peace in Syria.
26. "We don't hear the language of dictations [from the US]"
eporue ,   europe   (03.25.10)
ahhh...and he cant be without... thats why he now listens to the iranian dictator instead... pathetic.
27. Implied threat
Ilan ,   Ariel   (03.25.10)
What Assad is saying is really, "either Israel will surrender to our terms or there will be war. " Syria is and will always be our sworn enemy. They are also a nation on the verge of collapse and potentially very unpredictable. Fortunately they are also pretty weak.
28. To #5
mordechai   (03.25.10)
Assad is as much an eye doctor as you're a balerina. He never attended any medical school of record.
29. You want peace ?
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (03.25.10)
If Mr Assad wants peace, he should board a plane and pay a visit to Jerusalem.
30. assad
Nick ,   Den Haag Holland   (03.25.10)
