1. Will they end the incitement against Israel?
Sigfried S. Kuhn ,   Aberdeen USA   (04.06.10)
The new Palestinian state will be a terrorist state. Their first order of business will be to destabilize the Jordanian monarchy and make Jordan a part of Palestine. Allies of King Abdullah will be persecuted and/or exiled. Once the Palestinians add Jordan, they will intensify the terrorist attacks against Israel and try to regain territory lost in the 1948 war. Slowly, piece by piece, they will get the UN and Obama to end the existence of the Jewish State.
2. Dont recognise them and they will fail ???
Philip ,   Afula, Israel   (04.06.10)
Mon general ,did you ever hear of the Berlin blocade?, it did not stop the Americans in their efforts to outmanouver the Russians.
3. Annexing the West Bank
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.06.10)
and sending its Arab residents to Jordan, country of their citizenship, will put an end to any problem. What will the United States -- or any other country, for that matter, do? Invade Israel? Hardly. Jordan is the Palestinian state, after all. It's a win-win. Israel gets its much-needed buffer, the Palestinians get their state and Obama gets the wind taken out of his sails. Maybe we can console him with pictures of West Bank Arabs rejoicing on September 11, 2001. Most Americans have not forgotten, even if the president has.
4. decisions decisions
SD ,   Paris   (04.06.10)
Tough choices here. Option 1 is an invitation to a One State Solution and would be met with glee throughout the West Bank. Option 2 is the Gaza approach. Except the WB is much larger and impossible to hermetically seal. Also within rocket range of the large Israeli population centres. This one is an invitation to a Hamas takeover, Jerusalem could be the new Beirut. Option 3 - I'm not sure what this means. Sounds like the Kartoum 3 no's. This is an invitation to EU trade sanctions.
5. I cannot accept this.
Steve   (04.06.10)
I'm not saying Mr. Elad is wrong. Barack Obama is, step by step, working to obliterate the United States as it was conceived by America's founders. This is the man who holds the view that the US Constitution is "deeply flawed." We know Barack Hussein Obama harbors deep hostility toward Israel and Israel's Jews. Judea, Samaria and Gaza should have been annexed soon after the 1967 war, as "east" Jerusalem and the Golan were annexed. It can still be annexed. One does not enfranchise enemy resident / inhabitant. America didn't. The American Indian was not given full citizenship until 1924! After they were utterly defeated, rendered helpless and assimilated; or as Americans termed it, "civilized." I cannot conceive of the possibility that Obama - no matter how much he wishes - can impose a Muslim-enemy state on Israel without Israel's cooperation. Thus, the ball will be in Netanyahu's court or in the court of the prime minister in power at the time Obama seeks (if he seeks) to impose this nightmare vision.
6. Israel should help Hamas overthrow Abbas
RB ,   USA   (04.06.10)
Let Hamas take over the West Bank, and your problem is solved.
7. 2 of the worst ideas I've read
Smith ,   TA, Israel   (04.06.10)
1. Annex the West Bank. Yes great idea. Let's add 2.5 million Arabs to the country's population. Not to mention the outbreak of generalized violence there, unrest in Israel's cities, and the potential for a serious crisis with all our major allies. Splendid. 2. "Significant pressure from the US and Europe" - Are you British? Is this supposed to be an understatement? Are we planning on attacking Iran before or after we impose complete international isolation on ourselves? 3. Sounds reasonable enough. Were the other 2 presented to make this idea sound reasonable? Probably. How about this for a serious solution. DIRECT AND FINAL NEGOTIATIONS WITHOUT PRECONDITIONS. Nah. Too simple.
8. Here's another alternative:
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (04.06.10)
How about massive cooperation and coordination with Westbank authorities in order to maximize, not minimize, our influence while enjoying the fruits of our mutual designs? It's bound to come about eventually, with or without our support and a failed state would also hurt us (Israel).
9. We must annex or fall apart
David Levl ,   Shilo Israel   (04.06.10)
To left wing Jews - please try to place concerns for your own security above those of your baseless hatred against Jews living in other parts of the world, including the Shomron & Judea. You know full well the history of Israel before 1948 & 1967, it was also genuine brave socialists that helped us secure 'our' land, take pride in that. You also know in your heart that capitulatiing the central hill country that overlooks your small hold on the Coastal Strip will eventually lead to another Hamas stronghold, and attacks worse than those coming from Gaza. Golda Meirs' quote of loving your family more than you hate your enemies, could equally apply to your attitude towards us. Believe me, without our hair covering you can't tell most of us apart from yourselves! Message: put an end to the madness - we must save Israel, and that can only be achieved by strengthening what we already have...together! Let's not be forced into accepting another 'final' solution. Shalom!
10. Smith #7
Steve   (04.06.10)
Negotiations have been brokered 'on and off' at the behest our dis-honest broker for decades. I ask, what is there to negotiate? The two sides have irreconcilable differences and positions. A Muslim-terror state in the "West Bank" and Gaza will constitute an existential or near existential threat to what remains of this tiny rump of a Jewish state. Clinton knew it. Bush knew it. Obama knows it. That is the point. As they say, with friends like these, who needs enemies?
11. Sarah B. #3 --unbelievably naive
stan ,   ramat yishai israel   (04.06.10)
Transfer two and a half million men women and children as though they were a few hundred tons of potatoes ?? Which planet did Sarah B come from ??. When Yitzhak Rabin expelled 300 Hamas leaders to Lebanon they returned to Ghaza stronger than before after living in tents for 6 months of Lebanese winter.
12. Israel must stop playing games & annex Judea & Samaria.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.06.10)
The PA threatened to create a new terror state in our heartland before. This is nothing new. Israel must make it clear, by words and actions, that this land is ours now and forever. Obama is our enemy. His opinion is irrelevant. Most Americans are our friends and will support us in claiming what is rightfully ours. Obama is likely to be a lame duck president long before the end of 2011. Israel must stop playing games and annex Judea and Samaria promptly.
13. #7. Settle 1,000,000 Jews in Judea/Samaria. Problem solved!
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.06.10)
#7 Where did you get the idea there are "2.5 million Arabs" in Judea and Samaria? Credible Israeli and American studies show there are, at most, 1.5 million Arabs in Judea and Samaria. Their birthrate is declining precipitiously. Moreover, they are permanently emigrating from Judea and Samaria by the tens of thousands each year. The answer is simple. Annex and massively settle Judea and Samaria. Pay Arabs to leave as most want to. Settle 1,000,000 Jews in Judea and Samaria. Problem solved forever!
14. To: No. 11
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.06.10)
Well, we cannot kill them and we do not want them. Why don't you read up on the aftermath of World War I, which saw tens of millions of people shifted, deported and repatriated? It can be done, has been done and continues to be done in Africa. Do you know how many people were displaced in China in order to build the world's largest dam? Eighty million. Two and a half million Arabs being repatriated to the country of which they are citizens is not that big a deal. I come from planet Earth.
15. Overthrow Jordan
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (04.06.10)
Make it a Palestinian state annex large areas of the West Bank make sure no one can change it in the future and the other actions the author suggest. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
16. THERE WAS NO ISRAEL 63 YEARS AGO. LETS REMEMBER THIS.
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (04.06.10)
17. To: No. 16
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.07.10)
Yeah, but then there was an Israel and Jews from all over the world flocked there to help build a viable state. How many Palestinians from anywhere in the world have flocked to the Palestine Authority to help build a viable state? Not a damn one. In fact, they're fleeing the PA in droves. Therein the difference. Let's remember this.
18. # 14
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.07.10)
Sarah, King Hussein of Jordan has revoked "their" citizenship in fear that they may return (to Jordan)
19. #16: Israel has existed for thousands of years
Steve   (04.07.10)
The declaration of the modern "state" of Israel was proclaimed May 14, 1948. Israel has existed for thousands of years. Israel never ceased being a nation.
20. #3 - Sarah B.
Adam ,   Canada   (04.07.10)
Sarah B, keep your racist, ethnic cleansing fantasies to yourself. What right do you, who was born and raised in America, have to tell the Palestinian inhabitants of the lands who were actually born in their lands where to go?? If anyone should be repatriated it is the Jewish immigrants who flocked to Palestine from Europe and Russia.
21. Sarah B - Palestinians returning to the PA
SD ,   Paris   (04.07.10)
Who exactly do you think Fayyad is? (hint : American prime minister of the PA) Or google "Sam Bahour". Half of Ramallah are Palestinian - Americans who have returned to help build their country. Many keep going in and out on 3 month tourist visas braving deportation threats in order to do so. Though by your tone it's clear youve never visited the middle east so you're not to know.
22. Call it what you will, but Israel must, must maintain
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.07.10)
vigilance since the "Palestinian state" they seek is not their final goal. The final goal is to do away with a non-Muslim, non-Arab independent state on any parcel of land in the region, Israel. If they only wanted to live in peace alongside a non-Muslim-Arab state they could have done it in 1947. They could also have done it between the years 1948 and 1967 during which time the now disputed territories were under total Arab rule and "cleansed" of all their former Jewish inhabitants, but they didn't; they didn't set up a state. What the Muslim-Arabs did do, however, was to set up the Palestine Liberation Organizations (PLO) in 1964, three full years before Israel captured the territories. What part of "Palestine" was the PLO to "liberate" in 1964...??!! The end game for the Muslim-Arabs is the annihilation of Israel, be it in a full-scale war, which they have failed several times, or in stages: territory and more territory and more "refugees", and more war-of-attrition-through-terror - that commenced in 1920 and is yet to cease - and eventually the disappearance of Israel.
23. #17# !6
Evi G ,   U.S.A / Israel   (04.07.10)
This is great Sarah, the Palestinian can destroy, and Jews can build , Look at Gaza .
24. your patience is amazing, when it comes to the bs as in #16.
eporue ,   europe   (04.07.10)
there was NO german democratic republic (GDR) in germany before 1945 - just as an example, how all of a sudden a "new country" is created... 14 millions people were expelled to areas, whose culture and language they didnt know. no compensation, bringing nothing with them. none of them ever blew up a bus. in the world often borders are drawn completely new, shifted, or simply population has to move. its sad but they have to comply with it. for complaints international courts are responsible.
25. #16 - the "palestinian" question, agreement etc...
eporue ,   europe   (04.07.10)
there IS a case about the disputed territories according to the geneva conventions. THERE IS NO, and has never been, a case about the existence of israel. get it. but - WHO does have a case ? NO - not mr abbas or any "palestinian"... you know why. because they never existed. and nothing was taken from them. the occupied territories were taken from SYRIA AND JORDAN.. if now an "agreement" is found for "palestinians", then because you are such idiots, who nobody wants. not jordan, not syria, nor anyone else. lets be honest: certainly syria and jordan and egypt would like their territories back. but the price is: they have to take you too. it seems obvious: before they do this, hell freezes over. the whole terrorism and murder in this area was started by PALESTINIANS, who did not accept international law: the existence of israel. YOU DID NOT ACCEPT or act according to INTERNATIONAL LAW. the world - in contrary - has quite some cases against YOU for decades of terrorism: coward, treacherous, undemocratic, uncivilized behaviour. hey, but you see yourself the victim and want a state ? honestly, this is a bit bizarre...
26. If Gazans Can Walk Away So Can WBers
RickD ,   USA   (04.07.10)
Last year when the Gazans knocked down the border fence to Egypt 3 / 4 of the population of Gaza WALKED across the border to buy stuff. So around a million gazans just WALKED out of Gaza. If they had walked all the way to Cairo probably no one would even have noticed them there. The population of the WB could easily move to Jordan and hardly anyone would notice. #18, he can just as easily un-revoke their citizenship. If the Pals take over Jordan they'll probably revoke HIS citizenship.
27. to 26 walk away
sahar ,   jerusalem   (04.07.10)
in 48 if the palastinians knew that the one who walked away will never be return home they would be in their home becouse of that in 67 they did not walk away also in gaza war they did not walk away and forced transfere is never accepted by the palastinians or the nationnal laws i think israil must resolve the problem of the arab resedents as it is their home before then the palastinians outside the home must be by agreements of them and the un...may be some justice be put ..otherwise israil seek the war and i think it will not be in its side forever or in the short comming days
28. To: No. 20
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.07.10)
Because most do not come from the West Bank. Learn your history. Palestinian Arabs come principally from the Hejaz in Western Arabia. My people -- the Jews -- come from Judea and Samaria. Ethnic cleansing? You mean like what European emigrants to Canada did to the native Amerindian tribes? Right. Got it. Watch your tone with me, Adam. People who live in glass houses are well-advised not to throw stones, and Canada's house is more fragile than most.
29. To: No. 21
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.07.10)
They aren't helping to build a Palestinian state, dear. They are laundering money and funding illegal terrorist activity. Braving deportation? Get real! Look at the terrible disrepair and crumbling infrastructure in the P.A. The so-called "leadership" siphons off 95% of the billions of dollars and billions of euros in cash aid which has been bequeathed to the Palestine Authority. Most have very lavish second and third homes in Europe and extremely hefty offshore bank accounts. Is that your idea of building a nation? Not mine. Not mine at all. Hey -- since you live in Paris -- ever check out the Widow Arafat's super-luxurious digs on the avenue d'Iena? I wonder how many scholarships for needy Palestinians weren't funded because of her $10 million per month -- yes, I said per month -- pension. What do you think?
30. # 26
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.07.10)
The people of Gaza did knock down part of the border (wall) with Egypt yes & they did just walk in to buy stuff, but not a million of them "just walked in" maybe a few hundred. The Egyptian army would never have allowed a million Palestinians to just walk in without putting up a hues fight. It is well known that Jordan & the rest of the Arab countries in the ME dont want the Palestinians as citizens.
