david ,   bern/telaviv   (04.14.10)
and a total waste of money. better use the money to build new apts in east jerusalem. this is israel guys, its a hot country, we have absolutely no connection to cold weather, especially not in eilat. and i'm currently living in switzerland, trust me i know what im talking about!
3. HOW EILAT HAS CHANGED IN 30 YEARS
HAL TRIPP ,   LA PAZ , BOLIVIA   (04.15.10)
IF MOOKY MELTZER , THE MAYOR OF EILAT IN THE LATE 70'S,EARLY 80'S WAS STILL AROUND , HE WOULD BE NEVER BELIEVE THE WONDERFUL PROGRESS THAT HAS COME TO EILAT. NOW WITH THIS PROFESSIONAL SKATING RINK PUTS EILAT AS A WORLD CLASS VACATION SPOT.
4. Ice skates
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (04.15.10)
Next time I go there, I'm bringing my ice skates.
5. David, have you ever heard of Canada Center in Metulla?
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (04.14.10)
Canada Center in Metullal has a figure skatings, ice skating and a hockey rink. Maybe you have lived in Switzerland too long and have lost touch with the changes occuring in Israel?
6. Dubai syndrome?
Joe ,   Canada   (04.15.10)
7. David from Bern/TLV --- the joke's on you!
Brian Cohen ,   PeoplesFront ofJudea   (04.15.10)
There's even an ice skating rink in Tel Aviv ! (at the Luna Park). Shows how removed you are from reality living the good life in La Suisse. Didn't you see the Israeli skaters at the Olympics? Give our regards to Rene Fassel!
8. Good idea,now build a casino then I
Eric..... ,   Israel....   (04.15.10)
will come.
9. Go Eilat!
Christian ,   Norway   (04.15.10)
Good news, you need to develop more and more nice stuff to trigger ppl to go there. Maby some of all the millions traveling to Sharm will prefer Eilat instead! I've been to Eilat several times - and looove it! :)) So cool place to party, shopping and enjoy fantastic days both over and under water. Why not use money to avertise Israel as a fantasic tourist country for all ppl, not only religious ppl but young ppl looking for fun as well?
10. David,
Abigail ,   israel   (04.15.10)
with almost a million russians in this country, we have an huge connection to icy sports. i love going to Canada Center and was really hoping for something like this in the Center Area of IL, but considering the big russian population down in eilat, it probably makes sense.
11. #2 Israeli ice dancers are in world's top 10
Sue ,   Los Angeles   (04.16.10)
Ice dancers Alexandra and Roman Zaretsky represent Israel all over the world. They recently competed at the Vancouver Olympics, finishing in 10th place. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-vABuybnEY Here in hot California, we produced ice skating legends like Michelle Kwan and Peggy Fleming.
12. sounds great, but...
Gilan ,   Jerusalem   (04.16.10)
I have a crazy idea. How about in addition to rinks in the two extreme and underpopulated ends of the country, let's put one full-sized ice rink where people in Jerusalem and/or Tel-Aviv can actually get to it in less than three hours.
13. I see a need for indoor tennis centers
Logic ,   Israel   (04.16.10)
Air conditioned indoor tennis complexes could not only be fun and adaptable to the mall concept, but help develop local talent for the ATP tour.

zionist forever   (04.20.10)
The Luna Park rink is only very small and because of its design it can't be used for either figure skating or ice hockey. Its for ordinary people to just come skate Israel needs more proper ice rinks. With all the anglos & russians given proper local training facilities Israel has the oportunity to excel at things like ice hockey and figure skating in the olympics and ordinary people could enjoy these facilities.
15. PRICES
CAROL ,   EILAT   (04.26.10)
NOT MANY TOURISTS LOCALS WILL BE CHARGED LIKE TOURISTS.CHECK PRICES OF IMAX KINGS CITY ALL OVER PRICED.ANOTHER SHOPPING MALL WITH A SMALL ICE RINK QUITE SURE THERE ARE MANY MORE ATTRACTIONS THIS WILL NOT ATTRACT VISITORS ONLY SHOPPERS
16. Another Shopping Mall??
Clive ,   UK   (06.01.10)
Does Eilat really need another shopping mall? Surely it would be better to improve many of the hotels to worldwide acceptable standards offering good value and service. I love Eilat, but sadly haven't been back for a few years because of the lack of good value for money accomadation. Look at how Egypts Red Sea Riviera and Aqaba are expanding, I remember when there were at least one or two daily direct flights from the UK, and a weekly flight year round....now in the winter there is nothing unless you stay at an expensive Isrotel hotel using their flights on particular days. I hope to return one day......
