Shalom: The idea is to remember; not to let their memory die as they did. You don't have to think of it as a bat mitzvah if you don't agree with it; think of it as a party of remembrance. But when death stands opposite the question of what you think they would have wanted, confronting and dealing with their deaths and remembrance is more important.

This could only happen outside Israel where Diaspora Jews try too hard to connect to Judaism - and get it completely wrong. Those innocent babies and children will be remembered for all eternity in Israel, we don't need to give the dead children a bat/bar mitzvah. A whole nation mourns them. God is looking after them now – he knows that only a Jew can have a bar/bat mitvah – he also knows that 6 million died because they were Jews – I think that’s the ultimate testament. Sorry.

realize that unlike "Others", Jew would never have done what they did to us. There is a lot of apologizing that must come from the Gentile world, not just for the Holocaust, but additionally for all the other atrocities that they put us to. This will help keep young Jews as Jews. Moshe
