1. Two km stretch
Shulamit ,   Israel   (04.14.10)
The army are pretty useless in stopping stones being thrown on a small stretch of road between the soldiers and Karnei Shomron. In fact such a short distance and so many rocks thrown at cars and buses. Yetserday a rock was thrown at a bus traveling through Neby Elias all it would have needed is the driver to have swerved the bus and knoked down a few people after being hit.
2. Hurling rockes at police officers and fire bombs at ...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.14.10)
... motorists; shooting and physically attacking worshipers does not amount to "non-violent" protest!!! The intent: to physically hurt the people attacked, and indeed a number of them have. Is this "non-violence" in Arabic? And if this is the case, what is a "violent" demonstration in Arabic...??
3. You can't accept throwing stones and Molotov!!
Salma ,   Palestine   (04.14.10)
And we can't accept the continuation killed by live ammunition, and the continued occupation and theft of land .....I think even if we throw you flowers, you won't like it because we are Palestinians and good Palestinian is a dead Palestinian for you..right !
4. Incompetence
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (04.14.10)
The article shows a level of criminal incompetence in the IDF command. In 2008 there were 50 wounded soldiers, in 2009 62 wounded soldiers and only now they are pursuing legal action against Israeli Leftists? The IDF should have already unleashed the YSM with orders to use the methods found legal during the Amona pogrom. None of the Leftists will ever riot again.
5. Try journalist for a change
Jesse ,   Canada and Palesitne   (04.14.10)
Perhaps rather than taking the Israeli military claims as fact and disputing well documented Palestinian claims because they are Palestinian, Ynet should actually send their reporters to the West Bank to directly cover the situation. If they did they would notice that, apart from Military claims, there has been no evidence of Molotov cocktails in Bi'lin or Na'alin. Perhaps they would look at the ex-rays from the Nablus hospital and speak to doctors which clearly point to the use of live ammunition in Iraq Burin, while the army could provide no evidence of their claims of rubber bullets killing the two boys. Perhaps if YNet actually interviewed Palestinains on the ground regularly (instead of it being the exception to the rule) they would recognize that while no soldier has been killed by stones being thrown during any of the anti-wall demonstrations, the army has killed 5 residents of Na'alin with both live and rubber ammunition and one resident of Bi'lin with a teargas canister (the one year anniversary of his killing is this weekend), It no longer counts as journalism if you simply present one side as fact because you identify with the army while not investigating the stories on the ground or at least weighing the evidence. Some free press Israel has!
6. Append to my no.2 post....
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.14.10)
I suppose that I should really recognize that these Arabs would not need to protest (peacefully or violently) were it not for fact that Israel for decades has belligerently placed their land under military control and occupation while funding and encouraging Israeli settlements expansion which is obviously illegal under international law to which Israel is party to. If the situation was reversed and it was Arabs that had Jews under military occupation and were stealing Jewish land I am sure that we would also be protesting with stones and fire bombs.
7. Salma, Violent Resistance is our right!
Nour ,   Palestine   (04.14.10)
Read international law - the West Bank is not disputed, but an illegally occupied. To add insult to injury, Zionists have built 300 settlements in our territory in total contravention of the 4th Geneva Convention. International law prescribes us the total right to throw stones, molotov, and even artillery at the settler-colonists to drive them out by hook or crook. This is what was done in Gaza. I see no reason why the same can't be done in the West Bank, since it's clear what the intention is. Sharon said it out in the open: The objective is to "disengage" from Gaza while cementing our hold on "Judea and Samaria". It's now totally clear that the Israeli establishment is against a two-state solution. What is said on podiums is total hogwash, what matters are facts and actions on the ground. Did you know that even the Jewish terrorist Ben Grun, ("David Ben Gurion") who hailed from Poland, once said "If I were a Palestinian Arab I would not make peace with Israel, because we stole their country". So the answer to our predicament remains violent resistance. I suspect this is where the momentum is heading, and with a bit of international support especially at the UNSC, "Israel" the racist apartheid enttiy that forbids out return our home, will be checkmated.
8. In the meantime Settlers vandalise a mosque
Avi ,   Israel   (04.14.10)
Lets hope the settler thugs soon become part of Palestine where im sure the Palestinian authorites know how to deal with them.
9. NO BREAD WITHOUT FIGHT.
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (04.14.10)
10. Judea and Samaria.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (04.14.10)
The people of Israel and Israel’s countless friends in the United States and abroad will welcome any steps to further the Jewish, peaceful and productive alternative to a terrorist state in Judea and Samaria. Throughout history, whenever and wherever allowed to exist, the quiet, stable, constructive Jewish home has been a successful antidote to extremism and barbarism. We can make it so again – this time in Judea and Samaria, a historically Jewish area whose importance to world peace cannot be overestimated. The Jews have the right to build and live freely in their country and the “non-violent “ demonstrations should not be a probleme : a few dozen dogs can easily disperse them ! 11. To Salma and Noar
Shulamit ,   Israel   (04.14.10)
Why are you not living in the Jordanian State of Palestine which is 3 times bigger than Israel as it occupies 78% of mandate land and has a Palestinian population of 77% of the people. You have 22 plus arab states you must be the most greediest people on this eartth!!!!!!!
12. Palestinians are Freedom Fighters - get out of our homes

13. no. 2
Ann   (04.14.10)
You do not know the very history and nature of your state's birth. Have you ever heard of the Irgun, Haganah and Stern? They were the first to use bombs in markets, Ramla vegetable market bombing, Deir yassin and Kfar Etzion massacres. Shamir and Begin were wanted terrorists by British authorities in Mandate Palestine, yet they became prime ministers.
14. @ # 12
Leah ,   Israel   (04.14.10)
Palestine already exists it is Jordan which is ruled by Hashemites from Arabia.
15. Aligator tears
Ilan Shalif ,   Tel Aviv   (04.14.10)
Some people still remember the first Friday demonstrations in Bil'in where under cover state personal had to "teach" kids to throw stones on the soldiers. Even when they "learned" it the army had to send a team of soldiers to the buillt area of the village to provoke the stone throwing as at that time the kids did not join the march to the fence.
16. # 6 is not Jehudah Ben-Israel's post!!! It's a fake!!!
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.14.10)
17. Ann @ no13
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.14.10)
You are mistaken, the people you refer to were gallant Jewish freedom fighters and the bombs used in the Arab markets were freedom bombs to liberate the Jewish people. You can’t compare these fearless Jewish heroes and their brave actions to those of the Arabs who use the same techniques but employ them for the purpose of terror and hate - there is simply no comparison.
18. # 16 please stop pretending to be me!!
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.14.10)
Why are impersonate myself and others on this website? Your attempts to cast doubt on who are the real posters here will not work.
19. Ann # 13
Ben ,   London   (04.14.10)
Lets not forget Ann that the British also called Nelson Mandela a terrorist.... So lets not get fixated with what this or that British government do or say.........
20. #8 Vandalizing a mosque..
Yossi G. ,   Jerusalem   (04.14.10)
never hurt anybody and the Palestinian Authority can't even handle their own people without outside help, let alone the settler "thugs".
21. Fayyad is not a very good leader..
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (04.14.10)
if he is leading his people to certain harm, but then again they thrive on that sort of thing.
22. To #6 and Salma and Ann
Vanessa ,   SA   (04.14.10)
Maybe you should back to your history books and read exactly what happened. It all started with a small postion of Israel being given to the Jews and threst was given to the Palestinians who decided that it was not good enough for them and that they would not share the land.Instead they prefered to try wipe out all Jews on their land.It was G-d's will that the Jews prevailed and that our land was once again restored to us.It is not Israeli will to waste their money and precious people fighting Palestinians. Most Israelis want PEACE !Try remember that !
23. so is the live bullet; can be deadly

24. # 17 is not Jehudah Ben-Israel!!! It's a fake!!!

25. # 6 and 17 are not by Jehudah Ben Israel!!! It's a shame
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.14.10)
that instead of conducting a respectful exchange of information and idea, there are those who lack information and have little understanding of events as they relate to the Arab Israeli conflict, attempt to deceive others by misuse of others' names etc. But this is perhaps indicative of the culture from which such people come. Look around you throughout the Middle East and see the results of lack of thinking...!!
26. ha ha ha, disregard that - #18
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.14.10)
This is the real me. Go Palestine!
27. A picture is worth a thousand words...
Lulu   (04.14.10)
The picture picked for this article is from Bil'in -- not Ni'ilin -- which only goes to show the writer and editor's understanding of the situation... copy pasted from IDF spokes and AP wires... like Jesse and others wrote had they taken the time to see for themselves, like anyone else can, their minds would obviously change; never mind the facts: About 20 Palestinian protesters, including several children, have been killed by the IDF at protests against the wall. Hundreds have been injured this year alone and all this without getting into the health and economic issues the wall itself creates for Palestinians that take a toll as well; for example, the two Palestinians killed in a flash flood in Bil'in a few years ago, caused by the poorly constructed wall that had already been ruled illegal by Israel's High Court. Despite the high cost of these protests to the IDF, the cost to Palestinians is beyond measuring, how do you put a price on someone's life? Say, Bassem Abu-Rahme, killed a year ago in Bil'in, who's murderers remain at large? Despite these grave losses Palestinians continue to demonstrate non-violently, despite having the right by International Laws to use force against the occupier. Why? Because they realize that by doing so they expose Israel's unwillingness to face up to it's own anti-peace for settlement and land grabs and transfer -- just as comments here suggest -- Israelis therefore would do best to support them in their right struggle as they also have the world to gain from peace rather than focus on bogus costs (even if they are close to real) the do not represent the true cost of occupation. Not to Israelis and not to Palestinians.
28. #3 - Yes, exactly
Eyal ,   USA   (04.14.10)
That day will come Salma. hehehehehe
29. War is coming Salma/Nour
Eyal ,   USA   (04.14.10)
Soon you will find yourself even more isolated when war between Israel against all your Islamists countries, such as; Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Gaza will start. This will be the end of all your dreams. The whole Middle East will be on fire, but peace will then prevail without you in it (c ya). Israel will be a much bigger too.
30. @ Salma # 7
Misleading quotes ,   Oslo, Norway   (04.14.10)
Your Ben-Gurion quote is an out of context secondary account taken from Nahum Goldmanns memoirs "the Jewish paradox". The end of the conversation goes: "That was Ben-Gurion all over: he had told me that as to show how well he knew in his heart that Israel could not exist without peace with the arabs" (Alan Dershowitz: "The case against Israels enemies" 2008:61)
