1. Missleading headline
Sad Mos ,   Haifa   (04.16.10)
Ynetnews says "IDF kills GUNMAN near border fence". And adds "A Givati Brigade forces opened fire on a Palestinian man attempting to plant an explosive device near the border fence in the central Gaza Strip". Gunmen shoot with guns, don't plant explosive devices ... And, BTW, the Palestinian tried to plant the device on Gazan, not Israeli territory. Nothing special, just another IDF incursion ...

Withdrawal from Gaza didn’t bring peace: It brought a nightmare. Gaza is ruled by the Hamas, which recognizes neither the Palestinian Authority nor Israel. Does it make sense for peace groups to advocate negotiations with the Hamas that undermine the “moderated “ Palestinian Authority? Given that Hamas are opposed to peace with Israel, those who couple ending the “occupation” with peace might have to wait a long time for the end of the “occupation”. More at : http://xrl.us/bednn9
3. The terrorist is now in "paradise"
Agent 007.5 ,   USA   (04.16.10)
Good job IDF for sending this terrorist to his long sought goal to meet with "72 virgins" and "paradise"...just don't tell them that the 72 virgins are 72 demonic spirits and their paradise is the Satanic code for hell...shhhhhh
4. Why only one? why wait till they're near the fence?

more wussy-pussy stuff from super-estroegenated effeminate war loser Barak
5. To 1 , Headline wrong !

But in another view : This guy was a TERRORIST , not a gunman

to kill Palestinian defending border. Can't you even leave them alone on their side of the fence?
7. the bottom line is
observer   (04.16.10)
Firing at Gazans planting explosive devices inside Gaza is an open invitation for Hezbullah to fire at Israeli overflight in and outside the fence.
8. #1 - Except bomb was for IDF on Israel's side
William ,   Israel   (04.17.10)
Ergo, making the IDF incursion perfectly legal. Had the terrorist planted a land mine that was activated by patrols inside Gaza, that would be a different story. The intent here was attacking soldiers INSIDE Israel from inside Gaza - no different than snipers, rockets, or RPGs. A terrorist will always be a terrorist - and must be neutralized.
9. #6 - Or, he could have NOT planted the bomb
William ,   Israel   (04.17.10)
and been eating dinner with his family this evening. The IDF would have no reason to enter, and wouldn't have. If you tease a dog and he bites you, you can't blame the dog for your stupidity - although, that is the mentality you and "Palestinians" seem to take and never learn from.
10. #7 - Except that IDF are the targets IN Israel
William ,   Israel   (04.17.10)
If Israel planted rockets and bombs next to the border to kill any Lebanese that passed by, then yes, Hizbullah would have a right to fire at the IDF planting those devices. Protecting one's border from invasion is one thing, using the border to attack across it which is what Hizbullah and Hamas always do is quite another. The IDF is in their legal right to neutralize these devices and the terrorists since the Gazans do so to attack IDF soliders in Israel and are in a war situation, across a non-official border. Take it up with the Hague if you're unhappy but past rulings in border disputes have been quite clear.
