32. Getting it straight about Jerusalem
Prof. Benthall ,   Jerusalem   (04.17.10)
Get your facts straight! The City of Jerusalem (“Yeru-Shalaim” – or earlier referred to simply as “Shalem” – meaning “the city of completeness/wholeness” or “the city of peace” much later) is most definitely referred to in the Tora (the first 5 books of the Bible). More succinctly, it is first referred to in the very 1st book of the Bible in Genesis 14:18. The exact quote in original Hebrew (transliterated into Latin letters) is: “U’Malche-Tzedek Melech Shalem Hotzie Lechem Ve’Yaiin...” This is translated to English as: “And Malche-Tzedek King of Shalem brought out bread and wine...” (to ‘bless’ Abraham to whom Malche-Tzedek essentially capitulated). From Genesis 14:18 onward, it is mentioned or referred to approximately 700 times throughout the Bible. One can use any scholarly biblical concordance to verify this. And, yes, it is not mentioned or referred to even once in the Quran (most likely meaning that it is religiously not that important for Muslims). Attempts to ‘rewrite’ history, in this manner, is a form of ethnic cleansing directed toward Jews.

observer   (04.17.10)
try again to look for the word Jerusalem in the text of Torah - Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, in your given reference: http://www.mechon-mamre.org/e/et/et0.htm another little exercise for you: Jews are not even mentioned once in Torah of Moses? Make electronic search for the word Jew in the text of the Pentateuch, you will found nothing. Substitute by the word Egyptian, you will find so many. Jews appeasers say that Jews were not named Jews at the time of Moses, that's good point but did Moses write the Pentateuch?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGKc-enO6Qk

"Yero-Salem is the city of Salem. It is in Hebrew; so what? the Israelites spoke Aramaic & Hebrew and they were Muslims in the first place" Alright, how could they be Muslims hundreds of years before Muhammad was born? Technically no one knew of Islam until he came as the final prophet... Unless you are saying that he isn't the prophet and that the Israelites had discovered much earlier than him. So please explain this logic gap? "try again to look for the word Jerusalem in the text of Torah - Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, in your given reference: http://www.mechon-mamre.org/e/et/et0.htm " Look up Prof. Benthall's comment 32, he quotes in GENESIS 14:18 "And Malche-Tzedek King of Shalem brought out bread and wine...” The king of Shalem (Jerusalem) had brought out bread and wine. OOPS! EPIC FAIL! AGAIN! "Jews are not even mentioned once in Torah of Moses? Make electronic search for the word Jew in the text of the Pentateuch, you will found nothing. Substitute by the word Egyptian, you will find so many. Jews appeasers say that Jews were not named Jews at the time of Moses, that's good point but did Moses write the Pentateuch?" You mean because we are referenced at that time as the Israelites, the Hebrews and so on? And that until our return to the Promised land in Israel, specifically the JUDEAN hills did we appropriate the name of Jews... And here is a question for you, where in the Christian bible or quran does it say directly Christians or Muslims.....? Epic fail again and again and again...

Because even from the most fervent pro-palestinian supporter I have never heard half of these. Can you actually find a reference for when any of these had these names prior to 5 minutes ago?

Nehemiah 1:2 That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem. Nehemiah 1:3 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire. Nehemiah 2:11 So I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days. Nehemiah 2:17 Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. Nehemiah 2:20 Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem. Nehemiah 3:8 Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall. Nehemiah 3:9 And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem. Nehemiah 3:12 And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters. Nehemiah 7:2 That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many. Nehemiah 7:6 These are the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity, of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his city; Nehemiah 8:15 And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written. Nehemiah 11:2 And the people blessed all the men, that willingly offered themselves to dwell at Jerusalem. Nehemiah 11:3 Now these are the chief of the province that dwelt in Jerusalem: but in the cities of Judah dwelt every one in his possession in their cities, to wit, Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon's servants. Nehemiah 11:4 And at Jerusalem dwelt certain of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin. Of the children of Judah; Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalaleel, of the children of Perez; The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers were over the business of the house of God. Nehemiah 12:27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps. Nehemiah 12:28 And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain country round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi; Nehemiah 12:29 Also from the house of Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had builded them villages round about Jerusalem. Nehemiah 12:43 Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off. This happened more than 3 thousand years ago. Jerusalem is undisputably the capital of Israel. God bless Israel.
41. how could they be Jews thousand of years before Moses came?
observer   (04.17.10)
42. #32 can you prove your circumcision?
observer   (04.17.10)
In Genesis 17:12 Moses states that Abraham was ordered to circumcise not only his son Isaac who at the time was not yet born but an the males born in his house, whether sons or servants, including the slaves. All of these were circumcised on one day together with Abraham; Ishmael too, who at the time was thirteen years of age, as the text informs us. Thus the convent or decree of circumcision encompasses the entire seed of all the descendants of Abraham, particularly Ishmael, who was the first seed of Abraham to be circumcised. Accordingly Ishmael is not only the equal of his brother Isaac, but he might even if this were to be esteemed before God be entitled to boast of his circumcision more than Isaac, since he was circumcised one year sooner. In view of this, the Ishmaelites might well enjoy a higher repute than the Israelites, for their forefather Ishmael was circumcised before Isaac, the progenitor of the Israelites, was born. They should be ashamed before the Ishmaelites, the Edomites, and other nations when they consider that they were at all times a small nation, scarcely a handful of people in comparison with others who were also Abraham's seed and were also circumcised, Bible? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGKc-enO6Qk
43. on the condition that you keep my commandments
observer   (04.17.10)
When Solomon had built the temple, had sacrificed and prayed to G-d, G-d said to him (I Kings 9:3), "I have heard your prayer and your supplications ... I have consecrated this house," etc.; but then he added shortly thereafter: "But if you turn aside from following me ... and do not keep my commandments ... then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them; and the house which I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight; and Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples." With an utter disregard for this, they stood and still stand, firm as a rock or as an inert stone image, insisting that G-d gave them country, city, and temple, and that therefore they have to be G-d's people. They neither hear nor see that G-d gave them all of this that they might keep his commandments, that is, regard him as their G-d, and thus be his people. They boast of their race and of their descent from the fathers, but they neither see nor pay attention to the fact that he chose their race that they should keep his commandments. They are quick to boast of their law, temple, worship, city, land and government; but why they possess all of this, they disregard.

Because in the end Itschak was a decendant of the chosen nation. And Ishmael wasn't. Also, 1 year earlier. That has to be one of the lamest arguments ever....

Jerusalem . But most Arabs call it only al-Quds, simply because they have never had an Arab name for the city.
46. Jerusalem
Marilyn ,   USA   (04.18.10)
Who should have control over Jerusalem? The one that loves it the most and the longest. Another thing-it's not good to reward violence. It just encourages violent people to do even more violence, not less. Anyways it might be better to give up some of the dream of perfect peace. I just doubt that it's going to happen. One big peace that's missing is that people are not used to having to work together in order to survive and grow.
