The article claimes that in 1948 35% of the Jewish population was born in Israel, in contrast to 70% today. I'm no historian, but I'm pretty sure that when independance was declared here 0% of the Jewish population was Israeli born. I'm quite certain that 35% of the Jewish population of the nascent state had been born in Palestine.
