most of the shipments including medical gear was done by boats, only 13% get to go by flight, and it was done for a week, many people would love the extra days and they had good excuse not to return, the institutes that realy should complain r the airport administrations, to be stuck in airport in Germany is not so bad you can go to places you didn't have time fore, plenty to see and people happily used them.
2. stop whining already

Independence day, etc. etc... so? Other people were grounded too- they missed funerals, weddings, birth's of children etc. Spending 1000 pounds to make it home for Independence Day- ? Other people did not have THAT kind of money- they stayed and waited- and guess what? They are still alive. They celebrated with the local Jewish communities- they had the right spirit. You travel you accept the risks- big deal.
3. They celebrated at Bergen-Belsen where they were

raped and tortured and starved and nearly killed? Would American Civil War veterans EVER go back to Andersonville, the infamous Confederate POW camp where they were starved and most died? Never! Would the people in the Batan death march of POW's in the Philippines by the Japanese want to go back there and celebrate when the march ended? Never! A few Viet Nam War vets went back to Viet Nam like loonies to a place that should have been blotted out of their memories. Cats and dogs have more sense than to go back to a place where they were injured, if given a choice. Going to places of infamy might be for those who did not live the infamy to honor those who did, but survivors should have a righteous revulsion at returning to the place of such sorrow. They should spit on the soil there when they leave and never return, in addition to shaking the dust from their shoes there. Rabbi Yeshua said shaking the dust from your shoes where his followers were not accepted will result in a judgment of that place one day like the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah! So shake the dust from your shoes where you are harmed, leave and never go back.
