The situation is appalling. We have a President of the US who has decided to do nothing to stop an apocalyptic cult regime get nuclear weapons, but at the same time is doing everything to stop Israel destroy in a preemptive strike the Iranian nuclear facilities and protect itself from an existential threat. In Obamas desperation to advance the so called peace process by just saying Bibi do as your told and Abbas can do whatever he likes Obama does nothing. Bibi suspended construction in Judea & Samaria and then Bibi reached out to Abbas said lets talk. Abbas said its not enough and I am not going to talk until you do more. Obama doesn't go to Abbas and say Bibi made a gesture you reciprocate instead he says Bibi you haven't done enough so do more so Abbas will agree to talk. Except for his nuclear terror summit Obama has had virtually nothing to say on terror worldwide and turns a blind eye to anything the palestinians do because he wants to show them he is their friend. If Obama was serious about actually advancing the peace process he wouldn't be setting deadlines and trying to get Bibi to do things he knows he can't deliver. Instead he would be looking for each side to start with baby steps and those baby steps gradually get larger but the momentum would already be in place before he starts looking for them to make much tougher actions. Obama isn't interested in real peacemaking he just wants a treaty good or bad to be signed before he goes into an election year.
