9. Maybe Lieberman was right?
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (04.25.10)
Throughout the 30 years of 'peace', the Egyptians have done practically everything in order to make us feel unwanted and unwelcome in their country. Blood libels against our ambassador there, showing our leaders as Dracula or Hitler in their newspapers, shooting an Israeli family in Sinai in cold blood, having a #1 hit song on the radio called "I hate Israel", their piggish ambassador Bassiouni (who enjoyed celebrity status here) assaulting an Israeli girl and then having the gall to mouth off against us, etc, etc... I am not really so mad about the Egyptians for hating us, I am mad about Israelis (those in the Knesset especially Peres, as well as those flocking to Sinai) who pretend the spitting is rain. I am Not a fan of Lieberman, but in this case he was probably right, calling Spade a Spade. When will the rest of our leaders finally grow a backbone and stop their pathetic pandering to these haters? We are acting like a battered wife, and this is sinking our national respect - the Egyptians are laughing at us with scorn. We don't need the peace with Egypt as much as they need it with us - better act accordingly.
10. just returning from 2wks in the enemy:
stephane ,   JAFFA   (04.25.10)
i can tell you this, its worst than what you think. egyptian wants their revenge!!! their are uneducated and, fanatic, besides football and koran israel hate is the second national sport. very stupid, and dirt poor is a good combination for radical islam. we where refuse in hotel in tours, we had policeman following us for our protection everywhere. and i kiss the border when i was back in israel, its just make you undersatnd how small we are, how surrounded with hate and wanting to just destroy you for real, it make you understand we have to make peace, we cant live like that. it make you understand that their hate and non acceptance of israel has a religious foundation, and that , is pretty desperating. unless islam reform itself, they will gave us no peace
11. Normal talk for Egypt.
JO   (04.26.10)
Anyone who is surprised is stupid.
12. they hate Jews because Jews created a modern state
Our reality ,   USA   (04.26.10)
with the world leading universities and world class hospitals. What have the Arabs created? The GNP of the 22 dictatorial Arab entities equals Spain. Their envy of everything Jewish including Judaism which they consider inferior to Islam is manifested on a daily basis.
13. Peace treaty? What peace treaty?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.26.10)
Egypt, as an Arab and Islamic country, has a very different sense of "peace" than we do. Many Israelis have come to regret returning the entirety of the Sinai (along with Israeli investments there) as it set a precedent that there is no price to be paid for Arab aggression - and no real peace to be had. To David (#7): Lieberman's remarks referred to Mubarak's refusal to visit Israel (except for Rabin's funeral), and that if he continued to refuse a visit to Israel, then he can go to hell. And, yes, Egyptian war games (relying on increasingly sophisticated US-made arms) do refer to the enemy in the east. So talk of hitting the Aswan should be seen in that context.
14. ABOUL Gheit..Running fo President....
ali ,   villanova -PA- USA   (04.26.10)
Mubarak is DONE...He is NOTHING but VEGETABLE now.. ABOUL Gheit is in the WINGS and will TAKE over... This is VERY BAD for Israel..The best is yet to come and is not too far form NOW.... Look for this Guy to ANNUL all TREATIES with Israel..
15. In Fact,
Goliath   (04.26.10)
Egypt perceive Israel as the enemy, but because the leaders are all coward, they sign peace treaty & have diplomatic relation with Israel. Let's have a poll in Egypt if the people love Israel or hate them. You will get the fact.
16. Direct result of OBAMA"S SPEECH in CAIRO
Ariel New Zealand   (04.26.10)
President's Obama's speech in Cairo gave the green light for the next Middle East Conflict. Israel pays for the dishes broke by the AMATEURS in the White House.
17. say no more
arthur ,   jersey city   (04.26.10)
The Foreign Minister said it loud and clear...There is no peace between egypt and Israel. The treaty is for convenience and US aid
18. To domestic enemies...
Jew   (04.26.10)
why would Egypt declaring Israel an enemy portend "the best is yet to come". Do the arabs predict their arab motherlands will try to destroy Israel? Is that the best to come?
19. When Israel ends the Occupation...
Joseph ,   Lebanon   (04.26.10)
When Israel ends the occupation and gives freedom and independence for Palestine, then of course us Arabs can be friendly with them. In fact we offer full peace with Arab World in exchange for this under Arab Peace Initiative in 2002, but Israel has refused. It is Israel who does not seek peace for the region.
20. Lots of abondoned shoes in Egypt, they are collectibles now
Yaniv ,   Israel   (04.26.10)
21. Amazing ...
JustPassingBy ,   Fairfax, USA   (04.26.10)
Consider the following .... 01. The Bible says that Jerusalem will become a "burdensome stone" to all the nations. Seems pretty clear that every nation is now trying to get on-board the "split" Jerusalem bandwagon. 02. Psalm 83 talks about Israel's near neighbors forming an alliance in order to remove Israel from being a nation. Seems like their talk is getting more bold day by day. BTW, GOD does say that at that time he will bring a delusion over them so they think their plan will succeed. 03. Isaiah 17 indicates that Damascus will cease to be a city and become a ruinous heap. While Israel might suffer some short term issues, they will eventually expand the amount of territory they possess after the next war. A good term to use will be "GOD's future urban renewal project. Also notice, how within a few days of the UK talking about dividing Jerusalem, a volcano erupts and spreads ash across a significant portion of Europe. And to think, items 1-3 were prophesized thousands of years ago. Psalm 83 actually mentions the nations. Keep an eye on the coming weeks/months and remember, you are either for GOD or against HIM.
22. The real hero, who change his enemy to an alley.
Rob. Ricky ,   Milan, Italia   (04.26.10)
this guys had alot of mistakes before. I think Egypt is a winning Card to Israel if they made the right relations with Egypt, the relation between Egypt and the Arabs are not that good as they show, there're alot of hate and curse against Egyptians in most of Arab countries (Syria,Lebanon and else) even the Palestinians themselves kill Egyptians in the borders from Gaza just cus they hate them. i would say winning people by diplomacy is the right track to follow (they hate Jew, but they can't do anything for them) if people give a deep look into the situations they'll find a right solution to this part of the world. fighting in not a solution. and they still have a peace treaty at the end.. *God bless Israel*
23. Israel is an "enemy"? And I thought the Egyptians signed a
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.26.10)
peace agreement with Israel... But two things are missing from that agreement: 1. Egypt has never accepted Israel's right to be, to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people 2. The peace agreement with Egypt does not specify that it is considered the "end of the conflict" Israel, lacking experience at the time in signing peace agreements, 1979, didn't insist on having these two points added. We have learnt our lesson thus insisting for very good reasons that if the Muslim-Arab world, local and regional, wishes to reach an accommodation of peaceful coexistence, which we do, our opponents must accept Israel's right to be, to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people and must accept a peace treaty as the "end of the conflict".
24. something is not adding up here
publius ,   USofA   (04.26.10)
Egyptian govt. has a very big bone to grind with Hezbollah, so something is not adding up here. maybe the denial of a message was the message.
25. Empty Promises
Yonatan ,   USA   (04.26.10)
Obama is to blame for this new criticism. He has emboldened the Egyptians with his hostile anti-Israel rhetoric which has led to this new unprecedented vicious public criticism from an Egyptian state official. Can anyone blame Israel for being sceptical that the Palestinians would ever uphold their part of a peace treaty? If the Egyptians are already starting to challenge the spirit if not the terms of the peace treaty, why should the Israelis expect anything different from the Palestinians? Egyptian promises aren't worth the papyrus they're printed on.
26. With that green jacket, he looks like he won the Masters
Steve ,   Atlanta USA   (04.26.10)
He doesn't look as good in that green jacket as Tiger or Phil Mickelson.
27. Arik @ 4, sounds like it.
leo ,   usa   (04.26.10)
28. he speaks the truth egypt is lying to us and always has been
ralph   (04.26.10)
29. Preparing a war ?
Yossef ,   Rehovot, Israel   (04.26.10)
Thank you Obama.
30. We should be realistic : Egypt cannot be trusted.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (04.26.10)
Egypt is a one sided Arab supporter and should not be trusted. Even today, after all these years of “peace”, Egypt is still the world center of anti-Israeli incitement. It has huge militairy expenses while its generals admit that the enemy is Israel. There is no doubt that in case of a general conflict in the Middle-East Egypt will fight in the camp of the enemies of Israel. Differences between Israel and Arabs cannot be brokered by an Arab country. The solution to the Middle-East conflict is described at : http://xrl.us/bi5c8
