1. Why eat the flesh of animals.
Peter ,   Uk   (05.08.10)
Become Vegan, better for health and the world in general.
2. Eat chicken, turkey or fish
jason white ,   afula,israel   (05.08.10)
Let the meat rot in their warehouses. Thank you Al Gore for scaring everyone with your earth warming b.s. and farmers switching to growing corn instead of cattle raising.
3. 1 Peter, UK: Vegan is not healthy or the laws of Moses would
Rivkah   (05.08.10)
have told the people to be vegans. Daniel in the Bible ate pulse because all the meat available was dedicated to idols since the heathen priests were butchers who sold the meat after dedicating it to idols. People at least need eggs if they do not eat meat or fish or poultry because eggs are a whole protein. The vegan proteins are partial proteins, a little amino acids here and some other ones there without the whole protein of meat, fish, poultry or eggs. Dr. Al Sears (MD) medical email newsletter said his father was very healthy and a factor in that was he would eat a raw egg daily. Cooking eggs destroys some of the nutritional value, so wash the outside shell which is where the bacteria is, then crack it into a bowl and swallow raw. Yummm. It's a little slimy at first, but then your body starts saying to you, "Yeah. That's what I need." If you must cook eggs a little bit, soft boil them. I have hard boiled eggs in the refrigerator as a snack, too. The problem with scrambling eggs is that cooking and scrambling eggs causes a slow toxin to form that in the course of a lifetime takes its toll on health, even if you use olive oil to cook with. If you must fry eggs, don't scramble or break the yolk if that is possible. Whatever is closest to the way God made it is probably healthiest. Cook the eggs in the shell like in soft boiled or hardboiled entrees.
4. A few details are lacking
Nahum Litwin ,   Kfar Saba   (05.09.10)
To the reporter, Yehudit Yahav, you've missed a few details. Like, why is there a shortage in Argentina? Or, where are there other sources of supply other than Argentina?
5. Sharp rise expected in meat prices
Marlene ,   Israel   (05.09.10)
Import from South Africa, they have the best meat in the world. Prices are already too high here.
6. what about lamb?
galilean ,   Israel   (05.09.10)
Since only fresh lamb is available here in Israel, I've always wondered why Israel doesn't import lamb from Australia or New Zeleand. Vegan and vegetarianism is not good for humans. What is good is to eat food in their natural state, as much as possible. Also all new fangled vegetable oils are extremely unhealthy for us. Natural foods and old fashioned natural food processing (fermentation) is the way to go.
7. Bad Meat
End of Days ,   USA   (05.09.10)
G-d is protecting us from eating the meat from Argentina. Have you seen how they slaughter the animals? Clearly a case of "tzar baalei chaim" Israel is the global leader in aquaculture -Jews should eat fish!
8. Meat will continue to get more expensive
redbourn ,   Arad, Israel   (05.09.10)
Raising and slaughtering animals for food is an incredible waste of resources. You can feed at least 8 times as many people from the same size piece of land if vegetables and cereals are grown, because you don't have to feed the animals. Today all commercially available meat and poultry is filled with hormones and preservatives etc and causes weight gain in addition to many other harmful effects. I'm not against people eating meat: but eat it once a week and there will be no shortage and people will be much healthier too. Mike
