1. all Jerusalem's Muslims are non-secular
observer   (05.10.10)
there is nothing like religious or non-religious Muslim.
2. Haredism
Sagi   (05.10.10)
is the greatest single threat to Judaism and to the Zionist ideal. Greater by far than the threats of our surrounding enemies. The more they multiply the greater the threat. They will be our downfall. Democracy and freedom are at risk and as matters are proceeding there is no way of preventing this from happening.
3. Maybe if Bibi wasn't a sell out things would be different
zionist forever   (05.10.10)
There is nothing wrong with the bulk of the cities jews living in Jerusaelem but there would be alot more seculars if there was more affordable housing. Sadly though the government has given into the enemy in the White House and is planning to end any plans to build affordable housing except for a few token gestures so Bibi can say I keep my promises I am still building despite Obamas demands. New figures show that jews & arabs in Jerusalem are now at an equal rate so the arabs are having children but the jews are moving out. How can we expect to hold onto the city when the government is making it hard for jews to live there?
4. To the detriment of Jerusalem and Israel
Eyal ,   Rehovot   (05.10.10)
The current trend of the religification of the city of Jerusalem is sad and dangerous and will lead to increasing extremism. What a sad situation.
5. Zealots
Sagi   (05.10.10)
brought us down in 70 AD and again in 135 AD. These zealots will bring us down again. There will be no fourth reincarnation. This will be the end.
6. Shame there are no statistics about who pays the arnona
Michel ,   Jerusalem   (05.10.10)
according to the various communities (haredim, churches, yeshivas..)
7. 49% of Jews are Traditional/Modern Orthodox
Andi ,   Israel   (05.10.10)
This is the largest grouping still
8. Haredi fanaticism
Yehudi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.11.10)
As the Haredi population increases we will very likely see more and more civil disobedience. Religious fanaticism is a frightening phenomenon.
9. it's not simple, I know there is scale
ghostq   (05.11.10)
for religiousness, from total secular to total religious, some people practice only one or two religious customs, some don't at all, the atituted to this thing is very wrong by its core.
10. Israel more advanced than the United States?
Robert ,   Princeton, NJ   (05.11.10)
So Israel is doing better than the United States in shedding the God-myth then? In America, over 85% of the population still claims to be Christians, and when you add up the other minority faiths, the number of agnostics and atheists won't be much greater than about 10%.
