1. they don't they support troubles. shalite is naive.
ghostq   (05.27.10)
2. I'M WAITING!!!
Yitzchak ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.27.10)
I'm waiting for you "human rights" activists to defend these "Human Rights" organizations decision to NOT acknowlege Gilad Schalit. Interesting if he was YOUR brother, son, cousin, HOW YOU WOULD REALLY FEEL??? That these "Human Rights" organizations are justified in ignoring Gilad Schalit? Does no leftist see through this whole sham?
3. put them near sderot and force them to meet shalit family
mb   (05.27.10)
Why give them a ticket back if they break the law? They must see by their eyes what happens in sderot, the daily exchange of good from Israel and Gaza, and assistance in the hospital in israel and forced to visit shalit family and terror victims and families. it is a PR campgain? Let do it well done.
4. they should bring the snipers out there to do target pratice
johnny boy ,   ny ny   (05.27.10)
and wipe them all out....
5. What's the big deal with Shalit,
Ali ,   Washington DC   (05.27.10)
Israel is incarcerating thousands of Palestinians, hundreds of them children under 18. And this guy is a trained soldier, he should toughen up a little and wait his turn like his Palestinian counterparts.
6. Shalit family's offer to back Gaza flotilla declined
summer ,   israel   (05.27.10)
the are not shamed now the even sympati. for hamas omg shalit fam how deep u are falling may u move to gaza too hamas would be better
7. Yitzchak: Rabid irrational hatred has and knows no logic
EST ,   Miami USA   (05.27.10)
These are rabid anti-Semites no matter what they call themselves ... if they truly espoused the cause of human rights they'd be all over Muslim countries decrying the many injustices that are brutally punished there ... baby girl genital mutilations, stoning of women when they ARE RAPED, hanging of homosexuals, enslavement of and unbearable living conditions for foreign workers, in-fighting that has killed over ten million Muslims in the last five decades...murdered at the hands of other Muslims, dismemberment and summarily executions by sword for common offenses, etc., etc., etc. These ARE NOT people working on behalf of humanity...on the contrary these people are working on behalf of terror and getting orchestrated PR for mass world consumption! Morons and hatemongers the lot of them!
8. Allow them to visit 12000 Palestinians kidnapped by Israel
Wes ,   Dallas   (05.27.10)
and then to visit their families in Gaza and West Bank
9. thats indeed very disappointing...
eporue ,   europe   (05.27.10)
for more peace and understand, we all should try to ease tensions, and initiate dialogue... no bridge - but a plank is already gorgeous... the reaction of the freegaza movement is difficult to understand.. one would have thought, they have something in their package, besides of cement, or are at least interested to create a some win-win-situation... in order to to get - literally - everyone into the boats... maybe it was too much asked for, with the red cross etc...? did they make a counteroffer, with something less they would support then ? hmm - to ask for a visit of gilads mother, once or maybe even every month or so, is not really a demand out of the world...? and i also believe, this would be a strong method to press bibi & co to make the flotilla landing in gaza, besides - sorry - also more publicity for both(!) cases... hope, they explain their decision on their website...
10. What have the Shalits done for Gaza's children?
Michael Hess ,   Charlotte, NC   (05.27.10)
Tough luck. The man is a captured soldier. The Shalit's could have had their soldier son back a long time ago. Your government paid for Samir Kuntar but will not for Gilead because he is far more useful as a pawn for the state. See article above for the meaning of PAWN.
11. BRAVO ISRAEL ! GOOD BOY. NOW LETS WAIT A SUPRISE FROM HAMAS
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (05.27.10)
" The IDF also decided it will transfer the humanitarian supplies carried on the ships to the Gaza Strip, after they undergo a security check." *** RELAX. I AM NOT ASKING TO HAMAS TO FREE GILAD SHALIT. I am just asking Hamas to do something different to do something to suprise all world at least give a video out show him to world and make world that he is truly okay. *** YOU GOT TO DO SOMETHING. AS YOU KNOW ! GAZA BLOCADE IS OVER. THIS IS HISTORY. A NEW HISTORY. NOT JUST SHIPS ! THE UN ALSO WILL DESTROY ALL BLOCKAEDS *** feree gaza is at door. *** PS: hamas ! you dont have to listen me. feel free to make your own politics. PS: hamas ! I changed my mind. EYE TO EYE. IF ISRAEL FREE YOUR PRISONERS YOU ALSO FREE G.SHALIT. ps : HAMAS ! YOU KNOW MUCH THAN ME. YOU DONT NEED MY ADVICE. WOULD YOU THINK AS I NEVER ASKED YOU ANYTHING !
12. GAZA WITH HAMAS IS WINNING.

David ,   Tel Aviv   (05.27.10)
You"re right he should toughen up and wait for his release. But, how about letting the Red Cross look in on him just as they have free access to those thousands of arab prisoners in Israel. Why is he in complete isolation against all Geneva convention norms? Maybe Israel should stop the Red Cross from visisting those arab prisoners too.
14. Humanitarian mission to Gaza
Mae White ,   Tel Aviv   (05.27.10)
So much for this mission's concern with humanitarianism. Would that were the case, they would be equally invested in securing basic international rights for Gilad Shalit. He has been held for four years without being allowed even one visit by an international aid organization such as the Red Cross, against all international rules.. Where oh where is the heartfelt humantiarian impulse of those who put into action this mission? Where is the pain for what this poor soldier has been enduring at the hands of dark forces?. It's easy to cry for the Palestinians; but when equal rights for a captive Israeli young man are asked, there is only thundering silence.
15. Palestinians in Israeli jails
Mae White ,   Tel Aviv   (05.27.10)
Dif is the Palestinians incarcerated have basic human rights, including visits, courses, TV, newspapers, access to medical care. They were imprisoned after committing acts of terror against innocent Israeli people. Terror is not a war that can be fought fairly. Gilad Shalit has been denied any basic visit by an international organization, in essence, he has not been seen by anybody outside the Hamas terror organization leaders and goons. Therefore his basic human rights have been and are continued to be denied; therein lies the difference.

Noel ,   Cork, Ireland   (05.27.10)
Ali, the difference is that Shalit is not treated humanely, gets no vistors, no communications etc. Get a life and get your facts right before you comment. These "Free Gaza" activists have nothing better to do with their time and are attention seekers. They will, as usual, have a lot to squeal about should they get injured during their illegal activities. I wonder whether George Galloway is with them again - maybe his election defeat has got the message through to him that he is not so well liked as what he would like to believe.
17. Wes Dallas 8
abraham ,   toronto   (05.27.10)
they werent 'kidnapped' they are convicted of serious crimes. Get the difference ? didnt think so !
18. #5
Jacob Erickson ,   Holon, Israel   (05.27.10)
In that case, let Hamas charge him with a crime, hold a trial with someone to defend his rights, and then, if convicted, give him a sentence with a defined time he will be imprisoned for and allow his family and human rights organizations to visit him while incarcerated.
19. Have the Shalit family no shame?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.27.10)
Terrible how they are trying to jump on the band wagon and hijack this event!
20. #7- OF COURSE I AGREE WITH YOU...
Yitzchak ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.27.10)
In reality, I wrote that talkback full of cynicism and sarcasm and feigned innocence. If it were up to me, I would throw out of Israel every organization that comes out against us, includiing the UN and the Red Cross. You don't like us - leave!!! That's called showing "back bone" and NOT KISSING a$$.

(05.27.10)
the question should be "what has hamas ever done for the palestinian people"? hameed aboughaze, iranian
22. Ali #5 and Wes #8
Golani ,   Vineland, USA   (05.27.10)
Ali and Wes, do you have any concept of reality? Gilad Shalit has been in captivity without any human rights required by law. The Palestinian enemy combatants captured by Israel are given every right by law including visits. As it is well know, several have even received a college education while serving their time.
23. remember the storye of....
ghostq   (05.27.10)
sam and deliea? sam who was from nazarith had the strongist hare in the world and noone could cut it but he could also not eat pea nuts for some reasion i thinks he was elergick anyway one day a evil woman called deliea betraied him by cutting of his head and blinding him when he was playing poker so he couldnt not attack the island of the philaphines. But god forgives sam for lossing his head and give him strong hare again and sam used this strong hare to pull down a huge temple belonging to a dragon but sam was also killed coz he pulled it diown inside and not the outside. the moreals of teh storye is that if you are realy sorry god will give you abck what you lost in poker. isreal doesnt have strong hare but it has a strongist armie and if it losses it god will give it another one.
24. Comment from organizers?
Miki   (05.27.10)
Any journalist tried to get a comment on Shalit family request from the aid mission organizers?
25. to #8 up untill last we pali inmates not only
ghostq   (05.27.10)
family visitation but cable TV and option to get collage degree that some free people don't get, doesn't sound like they r poor, anyway since arabs understand only when talking in their language if Gilad doesn't have family visitation rights, or red cross eccess than the oaki prisoners shouldn't after all he didn't kill anyone, but the palis got long larg trail of blood after them. go check it.
26. Mr Shalit's offer to the flotilla
Babs ,   London UK   (05.27.10)
It is not surprising that one young Jew's life is worth nothing to these people and it's very true that these people are interested only in confrontation. I am glad that the IDF will treat them as it says.
27. George Galloway
George Holloway   (05.27.10)
his beloved muslims have kicked him out from parliament. He should apply to act In BIG BROTHER and lick the foot of muslims friends
28. Ali, #5
Rick   (05.27.10)
The big deal with Shalit is that he was kidnapped and has never been heard from. Those in Israeli jails are at least charged, have visitation rights, and are monitored by the Red Cross. Let me ask you something... about the middle east... seriously, what would you do if you were Israel and the opposite side doesn't agree to your right to exist?
29. #8, Wes Dallas
Rick   (05.27.10)
Obviously your knowledge is little. The Pal prisoners are allowed visitation and red cross visits. Shalit is nothing more than a picture to all except for Hamas. As for Palestinian prisoners, do you go by shear numbers? If Israel catches those plotting attacks, is it not okay to arrest them? I guess the Al Qaeda prisoners in the US should be released... just because.

Resistor   (05.27.10)
I am all for Noam's boy getting Christmas cards, and even a Red CROSS visit or 2, but asking the Free Gaza movement to do Mr and Mrs work for them is a bit rich! Remember, the Mossad can't free Gillad. The Shin Bet are unable to free him. The IDF are too scared to free him. The Free Gaza movement just want to ....free Gaza!!
