1. TORPEDO THAT FLOTILLA!
(05.28.10)
2. The right argument Lieberman should make
Yochanan   (05.28.10)
The right argument that Israel should make is that it is not concerned about this particular flotilla, but that not stopping it will entice Iran and its allies to also start shipping in weapons by sea. There is no need to say anything more.
3. Lieberman is obviously correct.
Keren ,   IL-BR   (05.28.10)
Israel should film the goods being taken and being transfered to the strip by Israel(after the cost of the operation have been charged from the senders,of course, and after the “goods” have been checked by Israel),and the provocative boats being sent to where they belong. Very objective and very simple.
4. Why isn't this crook in jail?
Giora Me'ir ,   USA   (05.28.10)
5. As much as I would like to torpedo the flotilla
USA   (05.28.10)
and hope for every single enemy of the Jewish people onboard to drown. I understand there's no chance of that, however, the lack of a proper diplimatic and political response to sponsoring countries is disheartening.
6. lieberman
lior ,   eilat   (05.28.10)
lieberman is a Idiot ,this flotilla must be stopped to show the world what a brutal country israel is
7. Israel's Sovereignty, Either Yes or No
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (05.28.10)
Some posters miss the salient point, this is a matter of Israel's sovereignty. that's all. I mean, would the US or any other country allow it' s enemies similar entry? Can we all imagine Al Qaeda having access to our ports? This has nothing to do with humanitarian aid, Lieberman is right. Some consider Israel brutal..oh come on. If Israel did sink the flotilla, w/o warning, I might agree. But this is not what is happening. Israel needs to however decide what the appropriate approach to the territories ( Gaza in this instance) should be. Either yes or no.
8. Egypt should also be involved
Ralph Haglund ,   Lund, Sweden   (05.28.10)
Egypt and Israel is together in trying to help Hamas, so they should help in stopping the armada with 600 human shields too. Israel should bring the goods to Ashkelon to transfer the legal stuff to Gaza, Egypt should bring the people to some nice prison in Sinai with no aircon and keep them there for a while. The boat trip is sponsored personally by Erakat with tells the intention well enough.
9. Stops cowardly act,
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.28.10)
let them come to Gaza Strip safely.
10. Female IDF soldiers offering flowers :)
Lou Gelehrter ,   Jerusalem   (05.28.10)
The problem is that you put a "Liberman" or IDF in charge with such a sensitive matter and you can be sure that something wrong will happen. The right way to do it is to check first carefully the flotilla, than IDF female sweet soldiers will offer flowers to the participants and let them go to Gaza and deliver free goodies. That's all.
11. #8 Ralph
Resistor   (05.28.10)
Hey Ralph Mouth, the cargo consists of wheelchairs, a full dental suite, schoolbooks, colouring-in books, crayons, 10,000 tons of concrete powder, pre-fab houses, tents, blankets, medicines, medical/surgical/hospital supplies etc. It is going direct to Gaza, because we know that if it is unloaded at Ashkelon, it will be sabotaged or destroyed. We don't trust you!!!
12. In the 60 KM's between The River
Student ,   Beer Sheva   (05.28.10)
In the 60 KM's between The River To the Sea - there is only Place For 1 ppl - it's us (the Jews) Or them (The Barbaric Arab occupiers ) Jews To Judea , Arabs To Arabia = this is the only formula for Middle-east problem , The 2 states/1 state Solutions will not work ! You can call it "Nakba 2.0" ,"Ethnic cleansing" or Whatever you Want - But this solution work In Cyprus,Balkan and etc...
13. Flotilla
Dave ,   Bs.Aires-Argentina   (05.28.10)
The option is clear, stop them at the very moment that they enter Israeli waters, and try to send the ships to El-Arish, Egypt. If they refuse, transfer the goods to Gaza via Israel (With a previous inspection). If they refuse to stop apply the Maritime International Law, and take the appropiate legal punishments, i. e. fire warnig shots at them, and if they don't obey the orders evacuate the people with the use of NO LETHAL FORCE, send them to their countries of origin and decomise the ships) In any case DONT ALLOW THE PEOPLE ONBOARD to disenbark neither in Gaza nor in Israel ports.
14. the master of escalation speaks...
eporue ,   europe   (05.28.10)
the only "violence" the world will see, is that of israel... is that really necessary, for some simple stuff delivered, and foreigners staying there for some weeks - if at all.. ? its not... its totally stupid, to inflate this matter as your government does... every "hater" in the world will love, how you make yourself fit into the "bad guy"-image - and this, for such b.s. as a "schoolbook-shipment"...
15. How can the Gaza Strip be Israel's sovereign land, air, and
Observer ,   U.S.A.   (05.28.10)
sea if Israel evacuated the Gaza Strip as it claims.
16. They're not doing it for the aid
Annie ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (05.28.10)
They're only doing it for the publicity. And Israel IS going to send the goods on to the Palestinians once they arrive, but the people will be deported as national law says they should.
17. No 7 Dav Lev - yes, you've missed the salient point
Kim ,   Australia   (05.28.10)
Leiberman (and yourself) state this is a matter of Israel's sovereignty. Hmmm, you and Lieberman seem to have missed the fact that Gaza is not an Israeli port and that Israel supposedly "disengage" from Gaza in 2005. Hasn't Israel repeatedly claim that it no longer controls Gaza or has sovereignty over it? Hasn't Israel repeatedly claimed that it is no longer carrying out an occupation in Gaza? So yes, Dav Lev, Israeli sovereignty, yes or no? Either Israel still has sovereignty over Gaza via its continued military occupation of the region (which by the way, is illegal under international law). Or it doesn't. Which is it? If Israel has in fact disengaged from Gaza and has in fact ceased it occupation of Gaza, as it claims, then Leiberman and your claim that the FGM is violating Israeli 'sovereignty' is completely bogus. The Free Gaza Movement have no intention of setting foot in Israeli maritime waters or on Israeli soil and it is destination is a port which is located in a territory, which Israel supposed disengaged from and is supposedly longer occupyied by Israel, so Israeli sovereignty is not being violated in any way, shape or form.
18. Lieberman PROVES Gaza still occupied...
Michael Hess ,   Charlotte, NC   (05.28.10)
...not only that, Lieberman also proves that Israel intends to keep everything, including Gaza. One State Solution(tm) baby! And 5.3 million Ara Palestinians right along with it. Enjoy the loss of the Jewish state!
19. Sovereignty at sea, in the air or on land
John ,   New york, USA   (05.28.10)
Oh. I thought Israel left Gaza longtime back. where this soverreignty come from, for Gaza sea, air or land. Such a hypocratic nation on planet Israel is.
20. Who takes seriously anymore this imbecile unless you are
Ben ,   US   (05.28.10)
an imbecile like him. This racist corrupt fascist should be out of work already indicted and in jail.
21. Israel is a rogue nation
Jack ,   Las Vegas, USA   (05.28.10)
This is humanitarian aid, let it through! Palestine should be treated as a sovereign nation with an open costline. The US is not happy with its little brother any longer.
22. allow ships in
eddie ,   upper galilee Israel   (05.28.10)
If the dogooders are so concerned about life in Gaza, let them disembark,go and see Gilad Shalit, tour all the ruins and tunnels, see the rocket launching sites, and the proximity to Israel, and when they want to leave to go home to their chosen land, not their land of birth,For most of them the thought of living in the middle east under the Islamic code of life , is not what they want to do!They prefer the laid back living of the west, where they at least have a voice, not so in the middle east?. And to finish off after the boats are unloaded and all the passengers are ready to leave, the Israel can introduce its famous red tape, and hold up the whole fleet for scrunity, preventing them from leaving until they are sure they pass a security check
23. #17,18,19
Ze'ev ,   Lod   (05.28.10)
As long as Hamas rejects to recognize Israel, declares the will of its elimination and fires rockets into Israel, Israel has the full moral right and obligation to stop ships sailing to Gaza.
24. Does Israel own the Mediterranean?
Jack ,   Las Vegas, USA   (05.28.10)
You cannot compare Al Qaeda having access to 'Our Ports" with Gaza and Israel. Israel does not own the Gaza coastline like the US. They took it.
25. Lieberman is right
Brod ,   USA   (05.28.10)
Lieberman is absolutely right. Israel should not tolerate external interferences on its sovereignty. It is pure Islamist-Jihadist propaganda aganist Israel.
26. To # 9, #15, # 17, #18, # 19, and #21
Dave ,   Bs.Aires-Argentina   (05.28.10)
You all have missed the fact that, after the withdrawal of Israel from Gaza, and a short time after the rockets were fired at Southern Israel, the State denounced at the UN that they will be considering the territory of Gaza as an ENEMY ENTITY. For your information, this legal status allows Israel to take punitive actions to that ENEMY ENTITY, in order to assure the safety of the people and instalations of Israel. Before puting your inaccurate and hateful posts, please take a moment and consult the International Laws regarding how should be conducted the relantionship between States with the legal status of WAR, or between an Sovereign State and a ENEMY ENTITY, (that is the case of the Gazan) (Among others measures they PERMIT the inspection of all the goods that are arriving at this ENEMY ENTITY). Also take in account that HAMAS is in control of ALL the aspects of the life in the Strip, WITHOUT any interference of the outside world, receiving a LOT of MONEY and GOODS as an aid from the rest of the word, aid an goods that Israel allow to flow inside the Strip. (Google this issue and you will find the HUGE aid in MONEY and GOODS that HAMAS was / is receiving RIGT NOW - Please buddies TAKE and READ THE BOOKS OF INTERNATIONAL LAWS. For all you NOT SO impartial people it will make you think twice BEFORE posting innacurate talkbacks against the Jew People here.
27. Old Borders....
Alex ,   Wilmington NC, USA   (05.28.10)
Israel needs to respect the current international borders that they are violating and have continued to violate for decades. The fact that a non state has to result to guerrilla tactics to fight a militarily superior enemy does not make them evil, it only serves to show just how inequitable the conflict truly is. Israel has been the US's biggest problem in the last half century, if only slightly behind the consumerism/industrial complex issues we are facing.
28. You're kidding, right?
John ,   Canada   (05.28.10)
They aren't entering "Israeli" waters, they are going to occupied Palestine! Israel has no authority there, by international law.
29. To #26 from Israeli
Yossi normal Israeli   (05.28.10)
I get the impression that you don't know anything about the reality of the brutal occupation and the abuse and the hate of the Israeli army and I am talking from experience, I serve in West Bank over a year and I saw it all. You know the most popular ‘say’ in the army is ‘a good Arab is a dead Arab’ and I assume that the Jewish newspaper in Argentina don’t report it. As far as Sovereignty of others is not on the Israeli Government agenda. And Last Lieberman is known for his hate to Arabs but as good Stalinist is a master of intolerance, and hate to any human rights organizations.
30. Day by day....
petr vojta ,   czech republic   (05.28.10)
Day by day Israeli leaders make more and more people on this planet aware of "irracionality" of the israels regime... neverending arogance will be course of Israels selfdestruction....
