1. GAZA - FLOTTILA !!!.
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (05.30.10)
BOARD THE SHIPS AND CONFISCATE THEM AND THE CARGO. TAKE THE PASSANGERS TO ISRAEL AND LET THEM OR THEIR AMBASADS PAY THEIR OWN TRIP HOME. Arn.
2. What Israeli Sovereignty?
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston-USA   (05.30.10)
How is anybody sending aid to Gaza violating Israeli Sovereignty. JPost says Lieberman claims a violation of Israeli sovereignty. But If Israel left Gaza, how is Israel sovereign in Gaza? The claim of a violation of Israeli sovereignty has no basis in logic or reality unless Israel claims sovereignty over Gaza. In that case, how can it proclaim that Israel freed Gaza? Is there anybody rational left in the Israeli government? Is there any logic?
3. Free Gaza movement?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.30.10)
Seems to me the target should be Hamas, not Israel. I guess Greta Berlin is just another of a long line of common garden-variety Jew haters. She's tackling the wrong problem. No surprise there. I guess any excuse will do for the likes of Greta Berlin and her minions.
4. Israel seeks an excuse
brian ,   sydney australia   (05.30.10)
Never believe in something till its been officailly denied. Israel is clearly involved in sabortaging the flotilla
5. 2- Did you check the facts before
Danny ,   Tel Aviv   (05.30.10)
posting? In order to get to Gaza, they have to go through either Israel or Egypt. Since Egypt and Hammas in Gaza are arch enemies, they prefer not to mess with an Arab nation and choose Israel
6. #3 The Norwegian Doctor present in Gaza and Goldstone
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (05.30.10)
Had some very interesting things to say about the behavior of your armed forces. I suggest you go take a look and stop your nonsense(Oh, I forgot, those guys are Antisemites to you).
7. #2 ITS' OURS. WE ARE SOVEREIGN!!!
Yitzchak ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.30.10)
We left Gaza. True. But we did not disclaim ownership. We did not disown Gaza. That's a big difference. The owner of a big mansiion can move out his furniture and go live in another home but the mansion IS STILL HIS. He can even allow thieves and low lifes to live in his house temporarily until HE, the owner, decides to come back to live or legally disavow ownership to the mansion. Same here.
8. Sink the suckers! Free Kidnapped Jew: Gilad Shalit!
(05.30.10)
9. what "other means" do they have, when sat communication down
eporue ,   europe   (05.30.10)
? then only the (regular) radio signal is left ? ...which they need to contact their sea checkpoints (?)... do they have their own "spy ships" - with which they hold radio contact, and can forward information, or publish them, in case there is no satellite... ?
10. Kudos to people power.
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.30.10)
"Israel" certainly will succeed in stopping this fleet from entering the Gaza Strip, this is also one of "Israel's" wars on the poor civilians!!! however, the message go to whom it may concern. For the Cypriot government decision,it is shameful, and give a very negative image of Cyprus to the whole world .
11. Gaza is Free but its water is not? Freedom for Gaza's water
Jack. A   (05.30.10)
12. FREE GILAD
R ,   Israel   (05.30.10)
Our hasbara sucks. We should have a huge counter protest with boats carrying humanitarian aid to Gilad Shalit and survivors of the 8 years of rocket attacks from Gaza. But our humanitarian flotilla would be violently attacked by Hamas and co. if it got anywhere near Gaza.
13. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.30.10)
You are clearly stupid and uninformed. Israel exercises sovereignty over so-called "Gaza waters." This sovereignty is internationally recognized. You should do your homework before posting such drivel. Unless you really like making a complete fool of yourself, that is.
14. To: No. 4
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.30.10)
And you know this how? Yeah. That's what I figured.
15. Salma, you're a riot
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (05.30.10)
How funny, your placing the name of an established, long recognised sovereign country in quotation marks - meanwhile listing your place of residence as a non-existent country. Must be interesting, residing in never-never land.
16. And kudos to the Cypriots
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (05.30.10)
They made a wise decision as did Israel in refusing to recognise the illegal Turkish third of the island.
17. To #4: Yes, Israel is always at fault!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (05.30.10)
The Australian Government took the word of the Dubai Police Chief and condemned Israel over the Dubai thing without any forensics of evidence. No we "sabotaged" the boats. I would remind you and all the others in hate Israel crowd that Hamas, the heroes of these Free Gaza people support Al Qaeda and the Taliban who are killing NATO troops in Afghanistan! We saw the Pakistani spokeperson condem Israel and praise Hamas on the very day that two mosques where attacked in Lahore and dozens killed and wounded. People should fix up their own mess before meddling in the affairs of others. Australians are so holier than thou but YOU are the "occupiers" of the Aboriginal Land, an entire continent, that you stole from the Aborigines whom you massacred and experimented on and even had to apologize to for the heinous crimes you committed against them. I think Israelis should support a "Free Australia and New Zealand" Organization. Brian. people in glass houses .........!
18. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.30.10)
More idiocy from you -- which we have come to expect. Have you a clue as to how many Gazans have been murdered by Hamas? I mean -- if you really are interested in "poor civilians," that should research that would interest you. Unless, of course, you are not interested in the truth, in which case no amount of education or research will help. I suspect that to be the case. You are quite content to wallow in your ignorance. You're actually quite good at it. Keep it up!
19. Complicated
Faigie ,   Israel   (05.30.10)
The situation is complicated. Israel continuously states that it left Gaza but continues to control the lives of the Gazans. They want freedom but they continue to bomb Israel so...It's not simple
20. :: Mark - #2 You are right
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (05.30.10)
You are 100% correct – Israel has NO sovereignty over Gaza nor the coastal water off the Gaza Strip. Only a Ynut would believe otherwise. Israel’s control over the territorial waters off Gaza is based on *military occupation* and belligerent military occupation, as we all know, confers NO sovereignty (see International Law and Israeli High Court ruling). The only provision under the Oslo Accords (which Israel has failed to adhere to) which grants Israel control are in regard to military security ie: Israel is entitled to take “measures necessary against vessels suspected of being used for terrorist activities or for smuggling arms, ammunition, drugs, goods, or for any other illegal activity”. As this flotilla contains only humanitarian aid Israel has no right to interfere with or stop these boats. But since Israel will intercept this flotilla the entire world shall witness, yet again, Israel’s inhumanity in stopping humanitarian aid from reaching the captive people of Gaza and no amount of hasbara on FaceBook or Twitter will change that. It should be interesting to see the global reaction when Israel throws a holocaust survivor into jail for wanting to deliver humanitarian aid.
21. to #10 cyprus had it with Muslim immigrants
ghostq   (05.30.10)
they basicaly ennoyed by them they don't need anymore, they got Turks who make trouble as it is.
22. to #2 cause they have to go through Israel
ghostq   (05.30.10)
water area from north to go to gaza, go look at the map. if you can read it. duh
23. #15 Linichka,62 years, is not long time in history
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.30.10)
It's really just a heavy joke. History will prove the truth to you one day. I hope you're stable in Poland,You know, no one can anticipate what could happen here
24. dont damn the cypriot government...
eporue ,   europe   (05.30.10)
they initially agreed on your support, and with their recent statement for their refusal, they enforced this again... they are politically and economically not in the position, to withstand difficulties, as much as they might wish... if anyone is to blame, than those who blackmail such a government for their own advantage...
25. :: Sarah B - #3 More Bogus Claims?!
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (05.30.10)
Sarah B why are you making bogus claims again? Don’t you know that what you present as ‘fact’ has no basis in the realm of reality? That said before we all take a pinch of salt and ignore such ludicrous claims we should really give Sarah B the opportunity to provide legitimate references from internationally respected websites/proof to back up this nonsense. The following are claims made by Sarah B which she cannot back up: Claim 1: The US (via USS Liberty) was providing information about Israel to both Jordan and Syria. Claim 2: That the territorial waters off Gaza belong to Israel ie: Israel has full sovereignty over these waters and this sovereignty is internationally recognized. Claim 3: That a 13 yr old boy was killed in a suicide bombing in Jerusalem in 2001. Personally I find that Ynuts, once challenged, cannot back up their claims/nonsense by providing legitimate references from internationally respected websites. Sarah B will now: 1) Ignore my challenge or simply disappear from this thread 2) Reply and try and change the subject by deflecting the conversation 3) Reply with more lies but no valid references as were requested 4) Any other option except verifying her silly claims Methinks Sarah B will opt for option 1.
26. #18 Sarah B,
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.30.10)
Sarah, I told you that I will respond to you, when you grow up It seems that the problem in the type of milk, change it Sarah :)
27. aid to Gaza(flotilla)
kevin j lee ,   Glasgow/UK   (05.30.10)
These so called, friends of Gazanians, are no friends at all, only enemies,of Israel, and to allow this flotilla to reach Gaza, would be a folly ! indeed. kjl
28. To: No. 25
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.30.10)
Actually, I will respond. Despite the fact that you are a phony who hides behind a folk song. (What does that say about YOU?) Despite the fact that you are an unrepentant Israel hater and Jew hater. I will accord you this much grace. I -- who am everything I purport to be -- will answer you. Be grateful. Normally, I kick idiots like you to the curb. And walk away. The USS LIBERTY was indeed a spy ship. It eavesdropped on Israeli military communications during the Six Day War. That is why it was blown out of the water. Period. Full stop. Prove me wrong. I have better information than you. Israel acquired Gaza through fighting a defensive war. I remind you that Gaza was under Egyptian control in 1967, and in late May of 1967, Egypt closed the Straits of Tiran to Israeli commercial shipping. That constitutes an act of war. On June 5, 1967, Israel retaliated. Egypt was seriously defeated. Gaza came under Israeli control. Technically -- and legally -- it remains under Israeli control and, since acquired while fighting a defensive war, Israel's hegemony is legally sound. Gaza was given an opportunity for self-government -- and look what happened. You really need to spend some time looking into international statute and convention. Gaza is not a country. Gaza has no territorial rights. The Egyptians washed their hands of Gaza long ago. Who's left? Why, Israel, of course -- the RIGHTFUL inhabitants. (Whether you like it or not.) My son was murdered in the Sbarro Pizzeria bombing. We called him Daniel. His middle name. (He didn't like his given first name). I am not -- no, I am NEVER -- going to reveal his given name. The day I do that, I will also avail you of my US social security number and my mispar zehut. Not going to happen. Not on the Internet, sweetie. Tell you what. The day you crawl out from behind your spurious identity behind a folk song .... I will tell you my son's name. Does that work for you, "Matty Groves,” Fairport Convention folk song? What’s YOUR real name? Ahh. That’s kind of what I thought. Phony freakshow Jew-hater. That’s your real name.
29. To: No. 26
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.30.10)
Translation: "I can't answer you so I will run and hide." Nice job, Salma. Keep proving my point.
30. Yes, 62 years is a short time
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (05.30.10)
but that is only for modern Israel. As you will know, Salma, the Jews predate you guys several thousand years. Poland, like Israel, is thriving.
