31. Repel all boarders!
JJohnson ,   Turks & Caicos   (05.31.10)
Israeli pirates have NO right to hijack ships in Int'l Waters and murder the passengers. This is an act of State terrorism. Off to the Hague with Bibi & his band of fascist thugs.
32. Messa, are you blind?
golani ,   Vineland, USA   (05.31.10)
Mezza, the Israeli solders were told not to fire, and their weapons were paint ball guns. The violent terrorsts were planning this and anyone in the world who condems Israel over this should be embarressed.
33. Noel #10 Could you possibly link
Lobo ,   USA   (05.31.10)
The Israeli ambassador's response on the 6 o'clock news? I want to see/read facts rather than the pro-Arab crap that we get here in the States. I.L.
34. #18
G ,   Toronto   (05.31.10)
I would be interested to know what proof you have the soldiers shooting at unarmed people that pose no threat? Please share with us.
35. impound the ships, sell them to pay for this operation or el
ralph   (05.31.10)

36. #18 if someone beats you with a metal pole?
(05.31.10)
and you HAVE a gun handy, what would you do? I guess you'll try to talk your way out of it, right? enjoy your death by club.
37. #18, hanala,Jerusalem capital of Israel. Amman is Palestine
David ,   Boston, USA   (05.31.10)
Stop making up people and places. This whole made up story is growing old. Just more attempts of Arab leaders to manipulate their populations. You are guilty of being part of the problem or ignorant of the truth.
38. #18, thanks for proving the point
Danny   (05.31.10)
you can clearly see these soldiers only have paintball guns. The soldiers with rifles came after the first ones were attacked by the "peace activists". But you prove the point that anti-Israelis have zero interest in facts.
39. #14, guess that is progress
Danny   (05.31.10)
Earlier in the day people like you were claiming the "peace activists" were wholely peaceful and Israel just shot them for no reason.
40. #10
Jane   (05.31.10)
Thank you, Noel, for keeping an open mind. Bless you.
41. NOT UNTIL SHALIT IS FREED SHOULD THEY BE RELEASED
Meir Elazar   (05.31.10)
Now that their moment in the limelight is over, the reality should start setting in. They attempted to run a blockade against a Terrorist Entity which have brutally taken over Gaza, murdered Fatah, kidnapped, and launched countless terrorist and suicide attacks against Israel. The conditions for stopping the Blockade are to release Shalit and stop the terror attacks. These animals did not hold a peaceful demonstration but had a planned attack and publicity gimmick. Shalit has been imprisoned for 4 years without any visits by the Red Cross, etc. These people should be squirreled away in some underground bunkers for years and not released until Shalit is released. If they think that they were helping the Gazans, lets see what they think after years pass and the Gazans do not release Shalit to free them. As for the 10-15 killed, they clearly deserve it and so do all the others that were injured as soldiers were instructed to shoot at their lower extremities. From this point onward Israel is clearly in control of the situation. There will be no more cameras and journalists for them to put on their Pallywood show and exploit. No one will be hearing their cries as every bit of information is painfully interrogated out of them. It is doubtful that Israel will be so kind next them. They will board the next ship assuming that their are violent terrorists ready to ambush them. Furthermore the terrorist supporting "Peace Activists" will also know who they are dealing with and what awaits them. It is doubtful that there will be many volunteers on the next attempted voyage. In the meantime, I hope that the processing of the terrorist supporters take a long time and that they receive NO RIGHTS OF ANY KIND. I also expect that the ships will be unloaded and all of the weapons and contraband documented and shown to the world for what it is. The BLOCKADE must continue until the Terrorist are totally destroyed along with all of their terrorist supporters.
42. I wonder to..
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (05.31.10)
But what I am wandering about is, how the hell did you manage to get off the boat and tell us the one and only truth? You were not on the boat? So how can you tell that soldiers were shooting unarmed people? Oh, yeah, you heard it on Aljazeera. Than it must be true, right?
43. Who Lowers Commandos By Rope?
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (05.31.10)
Who planned this idiotic maneuver? Dropping soldiers directly onto a boat load of vicious anti-Semites, setting them up to be beaten and tossed overboard? This has to be the poorest and stupidest military tactic I have ever seen or heard of. Appalling.
44. I'm sorry that I didn't believe you.
Swiss   (05.31.10)
45. It is moronic to send soldiers like this!
michael ,   sao paulo   (05.31.10)
I am not a military expert, but it seems REALLY stupid to send the soldiers like this to the boats! The stupidity belongs to the people who sent the soldiers. After that appaling decision they did not have many options...
46. #22: let's put you in a mob who tries to kill you, and
see how you react   (05.31.10)
deal?
47. This makes aid workers look really bad
Mark ,   Bergen, Norway   (05.31.10)
Even if this is self-defense in international waters, it sure looks brutal.
48. Reply to J K (post 1)
Al ,   US   (05.31.10)
Regardless of wither the passengers on board the boat are peace activists or terrorists, Israel simply cannot take the International laws in their own hands by hi-jacking a vessel in the middle of International waters in total darkness and expect a warm welcome from its passengers! When Israel does such act, how can it or any of her friends defend her, and how is Israel any better than the Somali pirates? Shame! Israel is dawning in its right-wing cowboy style government! It kind of reminds of W's administration!
49. International Law at Sea - to all the ignorant posters
The Doc ,   Now travelling USA   (05.31.10)
I am quoting from another poster, and after double checking facts. Google for it and you'll see how much lies are israel and Jew haters are spreading, counting on peoples' ignorance and laziness to check facts. Here is the quote which is a quite accurate summary: "The claim by the supporters of Hamas and enemies of Israel, (which include these four "Israeli lawyers") that the seizure of the enemy flotilla was illegal under international law and, in particular, the U.N. Convention on the High Seas have no legal basis. First, Article 86 of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the High Seas specifically excludes from its application any portion of the sea that is "included in the exclusive economic zone, in the territorial sea or in the internal waters of a State..." This seizure took place within Israel's exclusive economic zone. Second, nothing in the 1982 Convention applies to war nor did it alter or amend long-standing international law doctrines in place since Roman Times, in particular, the law of contraband and the law of blockade. Under the 1854 Declaration of Paris, a blockade must be maintained by a force sufficient really to prevent access to the coast of the enemy. The Turkish demand that Israel allow the Hamas flotilla “free passage” to the Gaza port must be understood, in this context, as a demand that Israel give up its legitimate right to self-defense by imposing the blockade in the first place. Third, in time of war, any belligerent has the right to blockade the enemy and possesses the right to board and inspect any ship, neutral or otherwise, which seeking to run the blockade to determine whether there is contraband on board the ship. Such boarding may be done ANYWHERE, including on the high seas, as in the case where U. S. and other ships seized a North Korean freighter carrying SCUD missiles 600 miles off the coast of Yemen a few years back. Fourth, under Article 59 of the 1949 Geneva Convention, Israel has the right to inspect all “relief” shipments bound for Gaza to ensure that what is being transported is, in fact, “relief” supplies within the meaning of the Geneva Convention. "
50. peaceful my a**
Mark ,   New York   (05.31.10)
They totally attacked the soldiers as they were trying to board the ships. I'm sure this video will be ignored by the Israel hating left wing media of Europe
51. Why did they board the ship in the first place?
(05.31.10)
It was in Int'l waters. The Israeli Gov't played right into their hands by boarding the ships. Stupid move.
52. #44 No you're not "sorry". You are blinded by hatred ->
(05.31.10)
-> and racism already. You wouldn't believe anything positive about Israel even if it fell on your sick Nazi head. I hoppe that you really like presenting your sorry @$$ to the "religion of peace" and let its followers rape your precious Swizerland.
53. #48
J K ,   NYC, USA   (05.31.10)
No one expected hearts and flowers, but then, the IDF did not exactly come down on the boat guns-a-blazin. These clowns were warned weeks in advance and 8 ways from Sunday not to approach the Gaza shore. The Somali pirates are not a sovereign country...Israel is and has the right to prevent arms from reaching a neighbor who seeks its destruction right in their charter and backs it up with missile launchings. We can split hairs about the distance to the coast they should have been intercepted, but the greeting would have been the same. Total PR move by these groups and Erdogan.
54. # 49
Birdi ,   Israel   (05.31.10)
Thankyou for your informative post.
55. #48 you should read #49.
(05.31.10)
so what was the basis to your claim, again?¿?...
56. Please
Unknown ,   NYC USA   (05.31.10)
They show you what they want you to see. In international waters no less, you tend to get a beat down for privacy. Ask Somalia.
57. :: This video shows...
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (05.31.10)
...armed IDF soldiers illegally boarding a ship in international waters and the civilians on board repelling this attack. Clearly the civilians were defending the boat and themselves, as is their right, from armed and hostile invaders who attacked first seeking to hijack the boat. Thus video also shows the incompetence of the IDF in their attempt to hijack this boat. Regardless this video will not change the fact that the world has witnessed the Israeli army assaulting a convoy of international aid heading to the besieged people of Gaza. This video can be entered into evidence at the forthcoming EU investigation.
58. Holy crap! Did you see the wind up of that pipe??
William ,   Israel   (05.31.10)
That was not an act of self-defense or of mild "resistance", that was an intent to kill. That kind of overhead swing produces power to crack skulls, ribs, and cause major internal bleeding. This was a lynching pure and simple, no self-defense as soldiers weren't even on the deck before being attacked. Turkey is 100% liable for the weapons on that boat and the violence of the people on the boat.
59. #2 - is that a video produced in Pallywood?
William ,   Israel   (05.31.10)
Because all the videos I see, including on BBC, show IDF soldiers being attacked and only having paintball guns as their defense, in their hands. One thing I do know, which Arabs seem to neglect often, Intl Law states that once you place a weapon in your hand or aid an attack, you lose your civilian status. So cram it with "injured civilians" - they attacked soldiers and lost. Isn't that what the failed intifadas (admitted by Abbas) were all about??
60. #7 - CNN won't run it, BBC edited portions out
William ,   Israel   (05.31.10)
The BBC edited portions out which showed activists red-handed using pipes to beat a soldier. Did you really expect Israel to get a fair shake when their goal is to feed the racist masses for higher ratings??
