Either way Israel has managed, by the sheer incompetence IDF to put the issue of the Israeli siege of Gaza squarely back on the world agenda.

The MV Rachel Corrie and at least two other ships carrying humanitarian aid are still en route to Gaza. Because of weather conditions it is hard to predict when they will arrive. It will be interesting to see how Israel deals with these ships. Needless to say the IDF will be using kid-gloves.

An investigation is needed, this is for sure before we start condemning one party or the other. A very important question that need to be answered: Who attacked first? Turkey showed malicious intent by sending armed "activists" with terror ties across international waters to provoke an incident with Israel. Not only was there a lack of cooperation by the Turkish ship, but armed "activists" attacked IDF soldiers upon their arrival to inspect the ship. This harassment of Israel by another UN member state must be investigated and not ignored by the UN.
