How is it that everybody I talk to was thinking the same thing before the fiasco - how to disable the ships so that they could be towed to port? Then, instead of disabling the ships, they decided to board them with commandos in order to fight civilians? No fire hoses to clear the decks first, no massive bombardment with tear gas to disable the people on the boat. The generals just dropped the soldiers smack into a lynch mob. DUH?!?!? My kids watched the replays and kept asking "Dad, why didn't they..." to which I had no great answers for them. There needs to be an inquiry into who chose the methods, what intelligence was on hand at the time, and why the proper tools and a better plan weren't used. There also has to be an inquiry as to why the government allowed a foreign country - Turkey - to send an obvious provocation. Nobody in the government said boo when Erdogan endorsed the flotilla, even though everybody knew we'd never let it get to Gaza. Why is everybody playing dumb?

If they would have used these elite troops for what they were trained for, there would have been no bloodshed. If two countries are in a state of war they are entitled to impose a naval blockade. In acordance to international law this means that you can enter ships in international waters and inspect its cargo. Before you claim anything make sure you know what you are talking about. Furthermore Danish troops are currently operating in Iraq and Afghanistan shall we have a look at your death toll of innocent civilians?
