2. better to end the blockade of Gaza and face what happens
daniel   (06.01.10)
This wont last for ever anyway
3. Its sad
slaw ,   poland   (06.02.10)
You are right. But killing unarmed people on international sea and against international law will not bring glory to Israel. It was stupid. I wish all the best to Israel - thats why Im so angry.
4. Do you know
Yuri   (06.01.10)
That Israel commando used paint-ball guns instead of real weapons ? only when half of commando was in critical situation then took pistols (!!!) not automatic weapon. If there was not Israel commando, there was 50 times deaths.
5. 5 commandos wounded
observer   (06.02.10)
well-equipped well-prepared young men elite force versus old shaggy Paramilitaries & journalists, so the wounded soldiers in effect have to be multiplied by a factor of 100-200. Is that the Israeli rule of engagement ? were those Sayeret Metkal or Golani species.
6. Peres- stop babbling
Ramon   (06.02.10)
"If there is one humane thing, it is this kind of trial by fire – to stand there, being shot at, and do nothing. If they did nothing- how come there were dead people? The raid was a rotten idea, it failed- now there is a high price to pay.
7. Peres is part of the Problem
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (06.02.10)
Peres is part of the Problem along with Ehud barak who basically control foreign policy and gives a impression to the world that Israel is weak and will give up everything for Peace. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
8. PR Campaign
Jack ,   USA   (06.02.10)
Why does Israel not seem to get it? From Lebanon, to Gaza, they don't get out in front of the PR. You have so many perfect American English speakers in the US, why not have them go on all the news shows and tell the whole story of these barbarhian terrorists? Same with other countries, you have french Jews talk to france, Japanese Jews talk in Japan, etc.
9. Press wrong button
Sam ,   New Zealand   (06.02.10)
For your information, I pressed the wrong button so that #6 - "Peres-stop babbling" by Ramon got 1 recommendation from me. I disagree with him in and out. I planned to click Add talkback rather than recommendation. If moderator can delete my inadvertent click, I appreciate that. Well, I agree with Peres.. No country in the world faces what Israel faces. In reality, what sort of humanitarian Gaza requires? There is no humanitarian issue in GAZA. 1. Gaza has been supported by UNWRA for its humanitarian for 60 years. They have food, clothes, schools everything. 2. If requires, Israel will let the humanitarian to pass 3. Why Egypt their muslims brother did not open the border for humanitarian? 4. Why Turkey did not ask his muslim brother Egypt for this course of action? 5. I salute with Israel army. bravo!!! keep doing what is right.. 6. Southern Lebanon was given back for peace and 6 years later Hizballah start the war 7. Gaza was given back for peace, but instead of peace Hamas send its thousands of rockets to civilian I REPEAT CIVILIANs. No peace achieved.
10. ISRAEL MADE SOME MISTAKES ...
1 ,   1   (06.02.10)
1 JUST SINK THE SHIP 2 PAINTBALL GUNS!!! ALSO PEACE ACTIVIST = MOBSTER
11. To Peres
Elizabethlynne ,   Dallas, Texas   (06.02.10)
With all due respect, the people of Gaza can do little to influence or change Hamas. They are oppressed by Hamas really or brain-washed. Israel must do what is possible to make things better for those in Gaza and to encourage and foster more cordial feelings. It is impossible to reason with extremists, but not everyone in Gaza is extreme. I do fully support Israel, particularly in their handling of the flotilla, which was organized by enemies of Israel and a known terrorist organization.
12. We LOVE you Shimon Peres!!!
Idan   (06.02.10)
I wish you good health, and may god bless you
13. Soldiers were beaten for being humane!!
George ,   Canada   (06.02.10)
I keep hearing lately unconscious statements from Israeli politicians that are not acceptable to human race ,(maybe to monkeys) .Is something wrong with their heads or they lost judgments and directions after the miss they did.
14. Do you know
Jan Hansen ,   Taastrup.Denmark   (06.02.10)
#4: " If there was not Israel commando, there was 50 times deaths" No, if there was no commandoes aboard there would be 0 dead, maybe some injured Israelis later if they get in the way when 10.000 peple drive the wheelchairs that was their cargo. How come people here tries to defend that Israel attacked ships in international waters ? it is against the international law.. shooting civilians doesnt make the case better. There sure are some crazy people in here..
15. humane
sunil ,   bangalore, india   (06.02.10)
how humane the IDF soldiers are. in israel, killing 19 civilians is considered humane.
16. haha japanese jews
sunil ,   bangalore, india   (06.02.10)
i think they're as rare as humane soldiers in the IDF!
17. israel, peace
sunil ,   bangalore, india   (06.02.10)
to the rest of the world, it's clear israel will give up everthing for war.
18. I agree with Peres
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach, USA   (06.02.10)
The soldiers should not have been beaten. They should have been chopped into matzah-ball size pieces and eaten for dinner. They were aboard ship illegally. As for Peres. he should be examined by a psychiatrist to see if he is sane. Either that, or he should be given the Liars Medal.
19. Hallo Perez, Could you quote for 2 missiles for Nuclear head
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (06.02.10)
It must be from medium to long range 1500 km to 3500 Km and with full Nuclear heads I heard you offered South Africa Nuclear arms for money, I just wanted to get price quotes from Israel, the eden of stolen technologies. I would like to use two missiles arming two aid ships for humanitarian aids
20. Who gave this war monger a Nobel peace price
Mark ,   USA   (06.02.10)
It proves the Nobel Peace price is a joke, firt to this man and than to Obama, leaders who has blood in their hands, shame on Nobel leaders
21. "O Jews, O Jews, Remember Khaybar,"
absalom ,   lps angeles, ca, usa   (06.02.10)
they sang on the Marmara to fortify their souls - Khaybar being where the Jews were massacred after sur-rendering before M. took one for a wife in 628 -- and this from "Peace Activitists", this from religious per-sons? This is murderousness, this is incitement. Yes, we shall remember Khaybar! And Auschwitz too!
22. 9 not 19
freya ,   London   (06.02.10)
Dont you repeat the arab lies too !!!9 too many but certainly not 19
23. Wow what violence from a purported peace nik
freya ,   london   (06.02.10)
24. #9 Sam
Lisa   (06.02.10)
your arguments don't all make sense: Gaza was given back yes- then bombed to rubble and now there is a 3 year blockade- . Do you really think this will solve anything? Even the dumbest Palestinian by now hates Jews because they are in a giant prison, no seaport, no place to go- Israel is punishing Palestinians collectively. And don't give me the sh... about 100% of Pallis being terrorists. re this flotilla raid: in international water? Israel has lost its collective mind- what was the government thinking? Don't you guys KNOW or CARE anything about international laws? You behave just exactly like the lawless 'others' you so hate. Now Israel blames everybody else- the activists put up a fight- really- would YOU just wait to be butchered in the middle of the night? Get real people! You want to be part of civilized society? Piracy is not accepted. Why didn't they wait until the flotilla entered Israeli water? It never entered their mind?
25. The Blame Game
Shaima ,   Egypt   (06.02.10)
I'm not surprised that Peres placed the blame on Hamas. We've grown accustomed to Israel blaming someone else for their screw-ups, and choosing to ignore facts. FACT: Israel forcefully took over ships sailing in international waters. There's a word that defines this. It committed an act of piracy. FACT: Unarmed civilians were killed by Israeli soldiers with big guns. There's another word that defines these acts as well... Terrorism. And anyone who carries out actions like these, or endorses them is a terrorist. It's time to stop blaming Hamas and God knows who else for everything that goes wrong, and take responsibility for your actions.
26. To Elizabethlynne ("To Peres")
Alvin ,   Miami, FL   (06.02.10)
With all due respect, the people in Gaza voted for Hamas. So until Hamas holds more elections (shock of shock - how come that hasn't happened?) they won't influence or change Hamas. This is what they wanted.
27. Blame Game Who?
Alvin ,   Miami, FL   (06.02.10)
FACT: Israelis have suffered at the hands of people who smuggle arms into Gaza from Egypt and wherever else. FACT: Israel has the right to protect itself. FACT: Israel gives more humanitarian aid to Gaza than the ships supposedly contained. FACT: Every country that has a coast guard is entitled to check ships, peacefully to see that its contents are what they say they are. FACT: Israelis boarded the ship and were immediately attacked. Your twisted "facts" don't tell the whole truth, Shaima. When you get your facts straight you can continue to see where blame lies. And it's not with Israel
28. This is wrong
Bar ,   All around the world   (06.02.10)
The Israeli government is wrong this time! Those people wanted to give aid to Gaza, that is their right! 19 of those people from flesh and blood were killed by Israeli soldiers. If someone would land on my ship I would defend myself as well, but at least no one died on the IDF side. People cannot be seriously supporting this propoganda.
29. # 18
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.02.10)
What the hell has turned you against your own people???
30. Geriatric Peres
JDonald ,   Penticton, BC   (06.02.10)
For Peres to imply that the Gazans are free to determine their destiny when their territory is blockaded by Israel is a laugh. Please return your Peace Prize and accept the award of "Convoluted Logic".
