No i have never been to Gaza. My Grandparents along with their 7 children were forced out of their home in Haifa in 1948. Scared by the memory, no member of my family has ever returned. If i was swayed by propaganda, I would not be reading Israeli news and gaining insight into both sides of the story. Instead, I try to be objective and see both sides by reading or watching western, middle eastern, european and israeli news. In this instance, the IDF has illegally boarded the flottilla in international waters. They surrounded it with about a dozen small ships of armed miltary and came in from the sky. The number of guns, missiles and bombs found on the flotilla was 0. Stores packed with food might mean that no one is hungry. however, It also might mean that they can't afford to buy that food.

Turkey is saying end the blockade of Gaza & we will normalize ties with Israel. This sounds to me very much like a form of diplomatic code to say we don't like each other and that won't change but actually openly treating each other as enemies and letting this business with the flotilla get out of hand offer my people a prize so we can put this incident behind us. The soldiers who boarded the boat used force to defend themselves when they were lynched by Turks and others the video proves that but I can't say Israel is in the right publically but if Israel has a public humiliation by being forced to end the Gaza blockade and the holy martyrs who died on the ship won then we can start talking again. Turkey is now becoming a very good friend to Syria & Iran so he is hanging out with Israels enemies these days. Israel must not end the Gaza blockade just for the sake of diplomacy with Turkey the US or anybody else. Security is more important than diplomacy and as long as Hamas are smuggling in weapons to use against Israel then diplomacy must come second.

The Israeli blockade of Gaza has historical precedence and no different than the US blockade of Cuba...both are designed to prevent rougue nations/organization acquiring weapons to be used in conflict.
