1. Hm..
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (06.02.10)
Matty, how come that these "lies" were published in Turkish media? They were dreaming to become martyrs. So, it's a dream come true, which does not happen often these days.
2. Peace activists will never look the same
steve ,   Israel   (06.02.10)
3. hope this information rises to the top in any investigation
Galut ,   Selah   (06.02.10)
and countries recognise these militant groups that take advantage of well intention but gullable peace groups and prevent them from being involed in this type of activity....
4. Cover
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.02.10)
What more proof of their real intentions does anyone need? They simply used the real peace activists that participated for cover.
5. The madmen got their wishes fullfilled...
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (06.02.10)
That's like a fairy tale...
6. we do what we can...
oferdesade ,   israel   (06.02.10)
if they have more constructive wishes, they should know we"re open to tread that trail too
7. I am happy that we have fulfilled their desires
Yossi ,   Bat yam   (06.02.10)
When Moshe Feiglin is PM, I promise that many many more such martyrdom dreams will be fulfilled
8. Somehow, I doubt this will make it to BBC, CNN, Guardian, etc
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (06.02.10)
Well, so much for the "innocent unarmed peace activist" or "freedom flotilla" theory... Still, what a shame that nobody would learn this important truth because the biased anti-Israel world media would ignore it.

12. Demented state of existence
oxo ,   USA   (06.02.10)
They teach, brainwash their children to yearn for martyrdom, then instigate, provoke and confront to get their wish. When they get their death wish they start howling unfair. Psychologists, psychiatrist and mental health professionals ought to study this demented state of existence.

17. Flotilla
Marilyn ,   USA   (06.02.10)
This is same as a march or rally. With us, the government studies all the players and predicts how they will react ahead of time. This is especially important at peace rallies, because not wanting jerky people to destroy people's dreams and ideals. In this somehow Israel missed ways in how these people were going to react and who they were.
18. Peace Activists Indeed
Douglas Fireman ,   Niles, USA   (06.02.10)
My heart goes out to all of those who were killed and wounded among the activists and to all commandos who were wounded-some of whom are in intensive care at this very moment. Was the Flotilla on a mercy mission?Did all of the participants realize the premeditated plans of the Marmara crew should the Israeli commandos attempt to board their ship? In my view the Marmara crew were out for blood. Several of their crew, if not more, were afilliated with terrorist organizations. A few of the participants even discussed the possibiliity of dieing (martyrdom) prior to the "mission." The "activists" on The Marmara crew, as evidenced by the available video, acted like a lynch mob. The commandos lives were endangered. They were beaten with iron bars, stabbed, and shot at. Considering these circumstances, the commandos had every right to defend themselves to the max.
19. Martyrdom... Ha!
Alexis Sitton ,   San Juan PR   (06.02.10)
Stupidity !!! They got what they were looking for... Morons !!!
20. The more we learn...
Daniel ,   Canada   (06.02.10)
about the people on that boat and their ties to terror organizations (even those masquerading as aid groups), the more it becomes apparent they were legitimate targets. We should have sank the entire convoy and leave them at sea so that the Turkish navy can rescue them. To think that these organizations are stupid enough to send another group of ships and try to force themselves past the blockade -- it's pure madness! How many more lives are they willing to risk for selfish propaganda?
21. For the record, the Dutch...
Daniel ,   Canada   (06.02.10)
The Dutch should thank us for taking a ticking time bomb off their shoulders. You're welcome :)
22. Martyrdom
Rodonna ,   Ahava Eretz   (06.02.10)
A true martyr is one who voluntarily suffers death and torture as the penalty for refusing to renounce their religious faith under pain of death. Shahid' (شَهيد , plural: شُهَداء , (shaheed'') is an Arabic word meaning "a witness". In no way does it mean being killed or tortured during a forced conversion.
23. #4 - notice how most activists were not involved
William ,   Israel   (06.02.10)
about 10% of the "activists" became involved and prepared for violent confrontations against Israel, just as any "Palestinian" terrorist would when infiltrating into civilian cities. The rest sat down and shut up, and the event was over right away. However - these same activists allowed others to hijack both their cause and their names, which is akin to supporting them.
24. Reminds me of a great comic of Arab yelling "holy war"
William ,   Israel   (06.02.10)
then he got the response back from the military and ran like hell crying "Holy Sh*t!!".
25. #11 - well, they did state their goal was martyrdom
William ,   Israel   (06.02.10)
just like your Pallys do often, offering up their own children for such operations. Who are we keep from their human rights of self-determination?
26. Same Dreams For Irish PM and Activists
Jonny ,   SA   (06.02.10)
Heres hoping the Irish Prime Minister and their activisits have the same dreams.
27. Call British Ambassador;explain their citizens actions
Jonny ,   SA   (06.02.10)
In light of the new information emanating from Turkish sources, is it not time that the British ambassador to Israel gets called in to explain just why their citizens were taking part in attacking Israel. Ditto for the other "european" ambassadors whose government has so much to say.
28. Culture of Lies
RC ,   USA   (06.03.10)
This report should be posted on YouTube and twitter. The only way to win this public relations war that has been unleached against Israel is by letting the world know who these false peace and aid activist really are all about. Most of these people are natural born decievers.
29. Ahhh...
lloyd ,   sweden   (06.03.10)
This was an israeli website, thats a no-brainer...
30. Where did you get the victims' names?
Joanna ,   Nashville, USA   (06.05.10)
According to Turkish and international papers, those killed on the Mavi Marmara were Cengiz Akyüz, Ali Haydar Bengi, İbrahim Bilgen, Furkan Doğan, Cengiz Songür, Çetin Topçuoğlu, Fahri Yaldız, Necdet Yıldırım, and Cevdet Kılıçlar. Where did you get the names of the other two victims in your article, Ali Akhbar Iritilmis and Muharram Kuchak?
