1. issuing an apology is a big mistake!
lian ,   spain   (06.03.10)
issuing an apology will only make the world bilieve that israel is at fault..israel should instead show anger over the violent behavior of these so called activitists who are linked to terrorist group and tell the world you have nothing to hide and nothing to apologize about!
2. Our failure on the Medias front.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (06.03.10)
One reason for our t failure is that we do not show the murderous nature of our enemies - how the suicide bombers' mothers took such pride in them, their kindergartens that educate towards killing Jews, and how they named their streets and football teams after the murderers, and the like... But the main reason for our failure is that Israel has abandoned the hasbara [public relations] front. Shimon Peres said after Oslo that hasbara is no longer necessary in Europe... To understand what really hapend consult : http://xrl.us/bi3f7
3. Absolutely,
Al Mujahid   (06.03.10)
violence and brutality in handling humanitarian flotilla are not good PR measures.
4. This is the first time a minister has said
Eric....... ,   Israel.....   (06.03.10)
something which is 1000% true. Our PRO sucks.Ministers have to go on all tvs, newspapers and the internet and tell our side of the story. They have to start talking in English, stop talking in Hebrew,we understand who we are dealing with. The world doesnt. If we are going to do something drastic, prepair the news media.
5. Israelis say
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.03.10)
Ben Eliezer was the Minister of Defense who did not want to use tanks to fight terrorists so he sent 20 Israeli soldiers to be killed in the ambush in Jenin. Not only were the soldiers dead, Ben Eliezer failed in his PR so that Israel was accused of a war crime and the "Jeningrad" myth was born. Israelis say that Ben Eliezer is a disgrace.
6. While issuing an apology is a mistake,
Tal ,   Haifa, Israel.   (06.03.10)
The public relations Israel 'took care' of are pretty mediocre. Making an apology would just make the world think we admit to be mistaken, which isn't true. As a former IDF soldier and a proud Jewish Israeli citizen, I believe it is our responsibility and social duty to make the world understand who and what we are. We are not Hamas. We are not the ones who hide inside Hospitals and Schools to make our point, while holding innocent people as human shields. We are not the ones who do it all in the name of Terror. Israel is defending it's borders, just like any other self-respecting country would do.
7. Fuads GaGa !
Harry Foscote ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.03.10)
I do wish Fuad ( Ben Eliezer) would retire. He constantly splutters and grunts warnings, empty threats and criticisms in every direction. His support of the deportation of Jews from Gaza, brought the shelling of Sderot and the take over by Hamas upon us all. There is a direct line from the destruction of Gush Katif to this disaster. Has he no shame ? Harry
8. The whole problem of Israel is there
Yaron ,   Spain   (06.03.10)
Israeli politicians think that the problem is bad PR. Israeli politicians think "the world is criticizing Israel for safeguarding its security interests" And that is all wrong!!! They think you can do stupid things, and make it alright wth good PR. The problem with the flotilla is not that Israel seeks to protect itself. Until Israel understand that......
9. Message to Ben Eliezer
DT ,   TA Israel   (06.03.10)
It was your Left Labour Defense Minister
10. What should we expect with Liberman as FM
Avi ,   Israel   (06.03.10)
With Liberman as FM what were we expecting? The man is a pathetic exscuse for a politician even by Israeli standards.
11. Tie yourself in knots about PR but actions were OK - huh?
Noel   (06.03.10)
Maybe the actions cannot be presented as acceptable because the actions were not acceptable! I am smarter than Barak
12. We should say thank you to FOX NEWS.
Eric.... ,   Israel...   (06.03.10)
They are the only ones that have been fair to Israel. Not like cnn,bbc or sky news.
13. :: Always about PR - never about Justice...
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.03.10)
14. WHAT SECURITY INTERESTS?
Vic ,   Lausanne, Suisse   (06.03.10)
Does a flow of food hampers israeli national interests? Those interests harmed much more by not allowing it.
15. PASSING THROUGH TERRITORY?
Vic ,   Lausanne, Suisse   (06.03.10)
Since when international waters started belong to Israel and since when Gaza became Israeli territory?
16. Eleazar knows nothing or worse
Golan ,   modiin   (06.03.10)
Israeli PR was fine (except for the release of the "activist" criminals without a trial) Eleazer is either ignorant or just looking to get himself on tv. We were CONDEMNED after the 1976 Entebe raid... and LOST diplomatic relations with certain AFRICAN countries for rescuing Jewish hostages being held and about to be murdered by the PLO
17. disgrace
colin   (06.03.10)
mr ben eliesar must choose his words carefully THE DISGRACE IS NOT THE P.R. IN ISRAEL --IT IT FILTY LIEING POLITICIANs AS HIMSELF THAT TALK ONLY AGAINST israel IS AS IF HE WERE A ANTI ISRAEL UNITED NATIONS MEMBER.
18. #15 Matty and the other automatic condemners
Tarzan   (06.03.10)
A ship suspected of carrying weapons or suspected of trying to breach a blockade in times of war ( which is the situation with Gaza )might be boarded in international waters for inspection. I don't know if you've watched the footage but you should, it might make you reconsider who was the violent party in this story http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6Xm8Irz-so
19. PR?
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (06.03.10)
The problem is not the israeli PR. The problem is hypocrisy and hostility towards the jewish country.
20. to #13 you want to talk on justice very well
ghostq   (06.03.10)
9/11 and the flotila were funded by the same org, can you guess who we r talking about, HHR naturally :) I saw what al-qaeda did to chritian in afganistan, hint the hundrets of them didn't got a proper burial cause none from the families left, entire vilage with machine guns, yep ths is the same org that send the flotilla, those r facts matty.
21. As usual, Israel *did* handle this badly
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (06.03.10)
By the time Israel started releasing the videos, the "humanitarian" narrative of a brutal IDF assault had already taken hold. Why the delays, esp. those including audio from the troops being assaulted? The press conferences were initially targeting the Israeli audience both in schedule and content. The rest of the world is on their own news cycle, and does not use Hebrew. Putting Ayalon up front - given his earlier treatment of the Turkish ambassador - was also a mistake. And why are Israel's leaders so squeamish about Turkey's role as complicit in enabling this confrontation? Do you think you're saving your alliance with Turkey? It's already history. Start pulling your military people out of there.
22. Thank you - now please Israel get up to pace.
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (06.05.10)
i have beeb thinking it too long - GET GOOD PR. And defend yourselves in the full meaning of the word DEFEND!
