The real centers were in Mecca and Medina. As for Christian thought, they was in the Christian centers of the world...Constantinople, Rome, and Athens (Greek Orthodox). Jerusalem was only the center of thought and in the heart of everyone, for Jews. To claim otherwise is to dismiss other people's history, and "Palestinians" have done that quite well....especially with demanding that Jesus was a "palestinian".

You really should check your history. The Jews owned Jerusalem for long before Chritianity sprung from our most famous Jew. Certainly long before the upstart religion started by Muhamed. Both Judaism and Christianity predate Islam. I guess they don't teach you that in your Islamic educational institutes..

Jerusalem was a Jewish city in Ottoman times and remained so until 1948 when the Arabs expelled the Jews. In 1967 they returned and Jerusalem is Jewish again. When Muhammed referred to the "farthest place of worship", he was referring to the place Abraham and Yitzchak prayed as opposed to Mecca, where Abraham and Yishmael prayed. Muslims today often forget that Yishmael and Yitzchak were brothers, deny Yitzchak's rights and want confrontation between the brothers rather then peace in the family. Yitzchak shall not rule over Mecca and Yishmael shall not rule over Jerusalem.

Make no mistake this isn't about some freedom flotila and ten dead Turkish thugs, it's about Islam vs Judaism. Hamas aren't secular terrorists, they are devout Islamists.
