5. "Peace activists"
NYC Girl   (06.06.10)
If these people are truly such dedicated humanitarians, why the hell don't they haul their asses over to Haiti where those poor beknighted souls are really in desperate straits...unlike the Palestinians with their self-inflicted "suffering" brought on by their terrorist Hamas government?
6. #2
Jane   (06.06.10)
That's right, Murat. The Armenians will one day rise from their graves and give testimony, you sanctimonious hypocritical Turk.
7. Turkish Hypocracy
Shafrir ,   Danbury, CT USA   (06.06.10)
Seems that Turkey has managed to cover the monsterous crime of Armenian genocide and the Occupation of Northern Cyprus rather successfully
8. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.06.10)
"Nobody can cover crimes forever." That would include the slaughter of the Kurdish people by the Turks, right?
9. Still No Excuse For First Group
emanon ,   USA   (06.06.10)
There is also no reason for these ships. Plenty of goods are allowed across from Israel to Gaza . . . once they have been examined for contraband. This is as it should be.
10. Even if they are fools they are still enemies
frank ,   USA   (06.06.10)
11. #1 Miki - No send them to Yad VaShem and Sderot
Meir Elazar   (06.06.10)
Show them Yad Vashem and what the Nazis did with the covert Agenda "The Final Solution". Then show them the Hamas Charter where they proudly aspire to destroying Israel and Murdering all Jews and Israelis. Then show them all of the sites where PAL terrorist blew up our citizens. Then show them Sderot and surroundings where they launched 10000 rockets at our civilians. These are not the violent Radical Turkish Moslem garbage. If they behave with civility, then treat them accordingly but educate them. With the Moslems, it is a waste of time. They are too brainwashed and beyond all hope.
12. #2 Your glass house is already in shatters
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (06.06.10)
from all the stones you've thrown on Israel. Need I remind you of the atrocities you people inflicted on the Kurds and Armenians? A Turk preaching humanity to others, now that's a good one!
13. To #2 - you should know
mike ,   Oxford UK   (06.06.10)
Do you enjoy occupying North Cyprus and oppressing the peace loving Kurdish people?
14. 2#
Taezan   (06.06.10)
Right now being from Turkey I wouldnt dare mention propaganda if I were you. With Erdogan bashing away at the jewish state in order to win the Islamic votes. I even suspect him of involvement in sending the last batch of terrorists from the Marmara
15. To #2 Murat-sickening Turkish Hypocrasy
Andi ,   Israel   (06.06.10)
Turkey's hypocrasy is well known . Turkey supports the Hamas terror regime in its attempt to create an Iranian port in Gaza, and sends Islamic fanatic mercenaries to attack Israeli military, and then pleads innocence and surprise that commandos didn't agree to die. At the same time your country bombs and murders Kurdish civilians. Your barbaric Turkish government even bans them from speaking their own language.
16. "civilized and polite" antisemites!
Rehavam ,   Israel   (06.06.10)
They would not have a problem bringing suicide belts or WMD.
17. #11 Meir maybe show them what the settlers are doing
Avi ,   Israel   (06.06.10)
Why not give them the complete tour, show them how the settler thugs erect settlements on Palestinian land, or how about a tour of the wall, show them how it divides famailies , maybe join Palestinians passing a check point. Show them what is really happening here not the image the right wing propoganda machine would like people to belive. The world no longer buys that BS !

19. A message to the Press: Please stop calling them peace
Naama ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (06.06.10)
activists. It sadden to read and hear in our local press and even by our politicians that these were 'peace activists'. While these 'peace activists' may not have been as violent as the ones on the Marmara, it must be clear to all that their goal is political and PR oriented, and not humanitarian oriented. In the the press it always sounds as if these 'peace activists' came on a legitimate reason, which couldn't be farther from the truth. From the point of view of international law, they have been breaking the law just like the previous ship, from the policitical standpoint I hope all of us are aware what their agenda is.
20. Isreal is to Kind to Activists
sylvia ,   usa   (06.06.10)
These people should be detained in horribel camps like the British detained Jews in the 40's and have their governments mediate their release. OR march them to a boarder like Syria or even Gaza, and release them without their passports , ID and money. This might discourage other activists.
21. #17 Avi from Israel
naama ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (06.06.10)
Why don't you tell us who you really are instead of posing as Avi from Israel. Hardly gives your posts any credibility. Since you seem to side with Hamas why don't you take you on tour around Gaza to show you the misery and terrorist conclave they themselves created for themselves. Don't forget to ask to visit their jail where they keep and torture fellow Gazans who oppose their regime. I'm not mentioning even their intent to destroy Israel and the thousands of rockets fired at us. Just go and see what they do to their own people. Then come back to report.
22. I am HUNGRY!!!
Cindy ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (06.06.10)
what did the Pacifists bring me to eat? where is the cargo they brought? what's on it? I would love to know what did they bring to the thugs in Gaza. Getting sick of this propaganda. We should close all the communications of them and from us, and stop their propaganda ....Israel is now helping them!....like filming a movie for the enemy! Next flotilla? No coverage!? even erDOGan is on it.
23. Turkey should ask forgiveness from Khurds
Ron B. ,   Lod   (06.06.10)
Turkish government, has demolished hundreds of Kurdish villages, deprived the Kurdish people of their freedom for a hundred years and eliminated thousands of them brutally, not to speak of the Armenian genocide which remains as a stain on their national conscience, and which they continue to deny instead of repenting, paying indemnities and beg for forgiveness. They have even threatened to recall their Ambassador from Israel, as if his presence here were a favor and grace. What happened to turkey? Consult : http://xrl.us/bfspye
24. naama
Michael ,   Haifa   (06.06.10)
You didn't even read Avi's post before replying. He makes no mention of Hamas or Gaza. He refers to our presence on the still Occupied Territories of the West Bank, the brutality and theft performed on an almost daily basis by the settlers. This the root of our problem with moderate Palestinians who just want to get on with their daily lives within their own state and our problem with the rest of the world. The settlers are eveybody's problem, including you, whether you know it or not.
25. Unfortunately
Resistor   (06.06.10)
Israel now thinks it has the right to shoot outsiders on sight. Bring on the enquiry, so that Israeli's can learn the rules that the rest of the world follows!
26. Occupied? yes by the Palis
Madeleine ,   Israel   (06.06.10)
According to the San Remo conference in 1920, all the land from the Jordan river to the Med. Sea was given to the Jews, see: http://www.think-israel.org/green.sanremo.html : "International law has recognized Jewish rights to sovereignty over the Land of Israel and to settlement throughout the land. In April 1920, at the San Remo Conference (part of the post-World War I peace negotiations), the Principal Allied Powers, acting on behalf of the international community, recognized all the land between the Jordan River and the sea, including Jerusalem, as part of the Jewish National Home, based on the Jewish people's historic rights. On the same grounds, the Golan[1] and Transjordan too were within the National Home (albeit the eastern border of the National Home, though clearly east of the Jordan, was not yet fixed). The San Remo decision meant also the juridical creation of "Palestine" as a political entity as well as the introduction of that name as the official geographic designation for the new entity. During the centuries of Ottoman rule, the country was divided among larger administrative entities with their capitals outside the country, the vilayets of Beirut and Damascus, although in the mid-nineteenth century, as a consequence of increasing influence by Christian powers on the Ottoman Empire and Jerusalem's political sensitivity due to the Christian powers' interest in the city, the Jerusalem area was made into an independent sanjaq (district). It was called "independent" because its governor reported directly to the Ottoman capital, Istanbul (then called Constantinople in the West), not to a provincial (vilayet) governor". TRANS (= acroos) Jordan, created by the same Mandate, was to be Jew free and solely for the Arabs. So the settlers are the legal residents of Judea and Samaria, which the Jordanians occupied illegally between 1948 and 1967. That is documented history. Of course, feel free to change things to suit your agenda. After all, the Arabs deny history continually.

jeff   (06.06.10)
Don't remember the Palestinians getting a say at San Remo. Britain's White Paper 1938 eventually recognised that this form of colonisation was a bad idea. Fact is, the Arab speaking Palestinians are the natives. Aramaic was spoken for some 200 years after the Arab invasions. Arabs colonised the region through administration, not ethnic cleansing. The presence today of Christian churches and palestinian Christians is proof that Palestinian ancestry pre-dates the Arab invasions of the 8th century. Israel continues to boot farmers off their land and build settlements on them. A person with one Jewish grandparent can move to Israel, get citizenship and live in one of these illegal settlements. That'd be kind of like an American with one Irish American Catholic grandparent moving to Ireland and kicking someone out of their home because they're a Protestant. Of course, feel free to change things according to your agenda. After all, Zionist head the balls deny the 'Thous Shalt not Steal' continually...

I love the way you lot always scream "Why you criticise Israel why not China, Saudi, etc?" I tell you why. 1)Israel is supposed to be a democracy, yet it acts like the aforementioned thugs. |It really should know better, especially if it is always trying to align itself to the nations that aspire to a free, democratic mandate 2) This mantra of 'why the other countries' is a glib way of saying "STFU.Our troops can kill any amount of juveniles, children, old women it wants. Our 'most moral army in the world' can aid and abete settler thugs on their shooting sprees and land grabs. Ignore all this and criticise the other copuntries, so we, Israel, can get on with the business of ethnic cleansing."
29. were did it go?
sam david ,   pittsburgh,pa.   (06.06.10)
I was wondering what happened to all the aide that was on the ship /did it ever get to Gaza or did israel keep the stuff for themselves?

sam b david ,   BETHEL PARK   (06.06.10)
there isn't a naval blocade on haiti likke the one on Gaza.i don't believe that the Arab suffering is being caused by themselves. If israel would lift the blockaide and get out of Gaza I believe that the people would be fine
